Got email #1 from Southwest about flight charges. Went through 3 SW initiated changes for our January trip.

My wife has tried for weeks to get SW to allow us to change with ZERO luck. She talked to several CS agents by phone and online. We paid cash for our "wga" tickets last winter and they told us that we had to use them by March 15th. Due to the current times I have been very put off by the airline. I am going to assume you either have points or vouchers and didn't buy them so long ago? We are still looking forward to our March trip but honestly would've moved it back to May or so as my mom isn't so sure that she will go now.

Woke up at 3:50 AM this morning but was able to get all the reservations we wanted!

27th- Arrival Day (This is the only one I am contemplating. We get in at 2pm and are dropping our bags and heading straight for Epcot) Right now we have Via Napoli booked but we also are thinking about just eating at the Flower and Garden booths.

28th- MK- Whispering Canyon 7:30 AM
Liberty Tree Dinner

29th- AK- Yak and Yeti- 11AM
Planet Hollywood- 6pm

30th- HS- Ale and Compass- 8AM
Sci-Fi - 12PM
Hollywood and Vine- 7PM

31st- EP- Topolinos- 8AM
Rose and Crown- 1PM
Biergarten- 7PM

1st- MK- Chef Mickeys- 7:30 AM
Crystal Palace- 12PM
Paradiso 37- 7pm

2nd- AK- Thinking of just winging it this day with some CS

We are also worried about crowds, I keep trying to tell myself Disney is only open to so much of a capacity.

Wow! You were able to snag a lot of ADRs. Great job.

I paid with my debit card in September and the prices went down so I went online and clicked to change flights but just re-booked the same flight for a cheaper price. Now my daughter and I both have $70.00 credit to use by September. I don't know if either of us will but we have it if we want to. I had no trouble at all "changing" my flight.

My sister got her second one this morning. She is now leaving 15 minutes before me so we will still be going to the airport at the same time. Our other sister leaves a couple hours earlier than us.

The modification process with SW is actually very easy. You may change your flights as you wish, either paying the difference for the new selections or getting a credit to use for future travel within a year. Regardless of original form of payment.

In this situation SW initiated the change.

From their email, "We want to make you aware of a change we’ve made to your upcoming trip. This was done proactively due to a Southwest flight schedule change on your day of travel.

Please review your new itinerary below. Your reservation is confirmed and no further action is required.

In the event this new itinerary does not work for you, we are offering the opportunity to change your flight date(s) and/or time(s) by up to 14 days from original travel date at no additional cost in accordance with our established reaccommodation practices."

I was able to change both our departing/return flights to non-stop for all 4 tickets. Painless. The only thing is SW may continue to make schedule changes that could impact our travel. I don't suspect this will be the only change.

Bama Mom - can you please update my dates? We decided to stay another two nights because flights were much cheaper on Sunday than Friday. We will be there from 3/21-3/28 now. Thank you!

How awesome you get a couple extra days. I got it changed for you.

I've always found SW easy to change flights on. I did check my flight itinerary after I read about your change and mine changed too but not a whole lot. I still don't have an email which is weird because the time they did change the original one, I got one. Now I fly out 15 minutes earlier to go to Disney and 55 minutes earlier to come home. No big deal for me. I suspect things will change again for us too. My niece is flying American out of LA and she is now getting in 5 hours later to MCO. So she is looking for other options. In our group we are using american, SW(from two different airports: Nashville and Atlanta), Delta and frontier. So far all of them have had changes.

sw has changed our flights 3 times now we will see how many more times they change them before we go on 3/21

The one positive about SW initiating changes is that you are permitted to make changes at no cost within 3 days. When I booked my tickets I made my selections based on the cheapest fare. As a result of the SW initiated change I modified my flights to NS flights. However, if my experiences in January are any indication of possible changes the NS flights are the first to go.

Our January flights were changed 3 times.

I think my SW flight has been changed three times as well thus far, but we're still in the same timeframe we originally desired. At this point though I don't know that we will make it as my BF's workplace has travel restrictions in place, and he doesn't anticipate that they will be lifted by the end of March. But we are planning still until we can't. If this doesn't work out, we're pressing on for later this year. He wants to spend his birthday in SWGE and fingers crossed it can happen.

We have had several SWA changes as well. The first one actually had us leaving a day earlier and staying overnight in Atlanta. We rebooked for our requested days somewhat similar to what we had. But now we have another change that has us leaving WDW 2 hours earlier and changing planes in Denver vs Dallas (with Central Arkansas as the final). I'm glad my kids are better on the plane these days or this would be awful. I hope these changes are just growing pains getting capacity back up. If this is how things are going to be, we may move up our plan to fly ourselves. I am a recreational private pilot in my spare time. Time to brush up those instrument skills soon I think.

I forgot to update my reservation changes. :)
BLT 14-17, BCV 17-20, SSR Treehouse 20-21.
I wanted something different/special for my 50th Birthday trip, so we are doing the Treehouse villa for our last night. Always wanted to stay in one.
Now just waiting to see if they announce Rat ride, and hours extended to finalize our plans and cancel ADRs I wont need. :)

I was able to get our return home flight at a better time, noon ish instead of 7 am, which would have been 90$ more per person for the price of my original flight, which I had been watching and already gotten 14k points a piece returned.

Got you updated.

Hey there, March folks! I just found you! We are going Feb 27-Mar 3. Care to add a month straddler? We’ll be at OKW.

Yeah! Bonus. I 💟 SW.

If anyone plans to drop a meal reservation 3/28-4/4 for a party of 3-4, can you shoot me a message? We’re staying off-site so options have been slim each morning so far, but we’d love to try the popular spots if the opportunity arises. We’re a couple with an almost-2-year-old. I haven’t been to WDW in almost 10 years but have eaten at Beaches and Cream, Boma, Sci Fi and Rainforest Cafe.

Uggh. I realized I made a STUPID ROOKIE mistake when re-booking my SW tickets after their schedule change.

I originally booked March 7-13, leaving on Sunday because the fares for Saturday were too high. When SW gave me the option to either keep or modify their changes I could have backed up my departure to March 6 at their cost!! I feel so dumb. 😔

I have 3 separate reservations for Copper Creek. Sat-Sun, Sun-Mon, Mon-Sat. I realized my error earlier today when I was going to cancel the first night. We could have had a full 6 park days. Now I am praying for another SW initiated change before the 30 days, to either keep my DVC points from going into holding OR keep the reservation.
