.:Official March 2015 thread!:.

:wave2: HELLO EVERYONE!!! :wave2:

This is not only my first time to DW, my fiances, but most importantly our DD. We are going March 4-10. We are arriving the day before our DD 5th birthday. I don't think I could be more excited!!! This is a complete surprise to her, and was a random decision. We are staying in a Royal Room at POR and she is going to squeeeeal in excitement, so sorry to anyone who else is around us. I randomly decided and booked 67 days out, and had no clue what went into a Disney trip. :lmao: So I have been going nuts researching :badpc: and booked our ARD's, but sadly did not get a Cinderella or Be Our Guest reservation. (bummer!) but there is Disney Magic pixiedust: everywhere so it will all be okay! I do believe I did the FP+ right, and choose ones that would be best for her and didn't have an issue with reserving them (besides staying up until midnight and having it tell me I couldn't reserve until our arrival date, again :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: ) It fixed it's self at 5am that morning, and I was back at it... :hyper: Now that that is all done, I am just looking forward to the "less stress planning" and more researching. I am all ears :listen: for any advice when it comes to traveling by plane (my fiance and I have only been on a plane once as children 15+years ago) *security/packing issues?, general DW tips, and anything else you think I should know as a newbie, and late planner! Thanks in advance, and hope you all enjoy your trips.

Oh P.S I was just added into the FB group! =)

LOL don't we all?? Have you entered the January trip a day sweepstakes? I know it's a longshot but like the NY Lottery used to say, "Hey, you never know"!!!
I was having a moment, you know what I mean? ...every once in a while you just wish it, wishing you could pick whatever hotel you want, going when you want and not scrimping and saving every day. But then the moment passes...;)
I have been entering the flip side every day :lmao:

Oh this trip will be so special to you all, remember you can not do it all and not everything will be perfect, it is really about being with one another and making memories. I loooooooooove surprise trips! We did this for our daughters their very first trip. We got build a bear Disney animals and dressed them as Disney princesses, and recorded a message in their paw "We love you and we are going to Disney" It was awesome, when they pressed the paw, you could see the moment when the oldest heard it but, could not quite process nor dare to believe it...it was magical. She kept weeping happy tears because it was truly happening pixiedust::love: I am in the March FB group too:thumbsup2
Welcome:cool1:

Oh I totally know what you mean! I keep telling my DH, one of these trips we're staying CL and some day I'm spending a week in a TPV room lol! And DS9 *always* wants the BWV, which is fine with me but sometimes, depending on time of year, what else we're doing that trip, and what else we've had going on, just isn't in the cards:( . One can definitely dream though!
I've entered the Kelloggs sweepstakes quite a few times so far too :rolleyes1 That one isn't over until September so as long as we keep eating cereal like crazy I can enter like a million more times :rotfl2:

Well that is good to hear, because I am seriously considering going to Disney with my DH on my birthday because I will be turning 50 and guess what? My birthday is October 1st, the same day as Epcot and MK's Birthday.pixiedust: I have had more good friends go to Disney on my birthday for the anniversary celebrations over the years, I think it is about time that I do it! ::yes::

Fingers crossed that we will booking next week to go 3/29-4/03. It has been 2 years since our last visit and I am in serious need of a Disney fix!

Christina

I'm doing a "we've turned 50" trip with a friend 3/28-4/2. We both turned 50 this year and it seemed like a great way to celebrate!

I hope it happens! : ) I need a fix, too. I've only been to DL. We went last year after I'd had a probably 10 or 11 year break and it was the first time with kids. After DL, I then told DH, well, maybe we can go to WDW in a few years now. Doo dee doo, it wasn't long before I was online and looking at WDW. I, too, need a fix. Nervous since all I know is DL, but also super excited.

So, some of us Marchers are making FP+ res now, right?! How's it going for everyone?

Just booked for March!... Shhh... surprise trip for the kids. They think they might be going to the beach or somewhere just to get away for Spring Break. Little do they know they are headed to Disney World!

March 16-20 AS Sports... short and sweet. our long trip is in October!

We just bought tickets (plane and park) and made our trip real! DH and I will be at All-Star Sports Feb. 26 - March 9 celebrating our 20th Anniversary (which is June but DH cant't get off work then).

Count us in! Checking into POR on 3/29 for 5 nights. After switching jobs to pay for DS's massive college tuition bill, DH surprised me with this trip to celebrate my 40th birthday (which is a couple days after we leave). So, so excited! :cool1::goodvibes:woohoo:

One more family going in March! This will be our 2nd DW trip, 1st was Oct 2013. I really didn't think we would be going back so soon...but DH shocked me and really wanted to go. So we're going!

Last time I planned for about a year and a half. This time we've known for a few months, but I haven't done much actual planning. We will be staying offsite again- we have 5 kiddos, so we prefer additional space for less money.

Biggest changes for us this time will be that we aren't telling the kiddos about the trip until the day of (if all goes well) and I think we are going to fly rather than drive 17 hours each way ;)

I'll be looking for the FB group...loved our Oct 13 group!! Look forward to planning with everyone.

That's awesome! Happy early Birthday - great way to celebrate the 4-0!

20 years is wonderful! You're going to be there pretty soon, how exciting!

That will be so fun for the kids! I'm jealous of the flying! We're driving after I got super sticker shock over flight prices. We opened two credit cards for miles so we can fly for our next vacations. Have fun!!!

So, we must have folks doing FP reservations - how is it going for you so far?

Our window opens up on Jan 26. I've done some custom touring plans on their site, and will be interested in how they change after I do some FPs.

We're planning to do early mornings, leave around noon, then rest/pool/nap whatever, until dinner, then maybe go back to the park if people are up for it. We'll have me, DH, DS9, and DD5.

As far as ADRs, I've switched things around a lot. I think I'm pretty set now. We have a Biergarten, Trattoria al Forno, CRT, and Whispering Canyon ADRs.

We're also doing the Pirate and Pals fireworks cruise on our last night, and on our rest day (we might have two), the kids have a pirate cruise out of GF.

Question for those of you going end of March... Temps show highs of 79/80 and lows of 59/60 (historically).

What are you bringing for clothing? I think I'll need to bring both capris and longer pants (I get chilly below 70). And a sweatshirt.

And shoes? I've been reading that it might be good to be in supportive sandals like Teva or Merrel (and the like) so you aren't walking around in squishy sneakers. I've only ever worn sneakers to amusement parks, so this makes me nervous.

as of really late last night and just now had the chance to post

:cheer2: I JUST PAID OFF MY TRIP!!! eek! :yay:
