I wonder if it is because free dining is being offered....we are booked march 3-9 and have free dining.....wondering if that is a better deal than the 20% room discount.....

I dont know...........we are not getting free dining either. It ends on the 3rd and we arent checking in till the 4th. But for some reason I got a discount so I guess I shouldnt question it.

Good grief.....just checked the Disney site a few minutes ago! Now they are closed...ugh!!!! I am excited that I will get a 20 percent discount....it is definitely something. 200 dollars is better than nothin and will pay for some of those ADR's I have made. I will be calling first thing in the morning.

We are going end of March because of a pin mailer. We got a mailing three weeks ago and ended up booking because of that. We're saving 25% a night at the hotel. So about $1000 I think. We could have saved up to 30% - 40% with the mailing if we were going during a different time or if we picked a moderate resort versus a deluxe.

It's still expensive, but the total package cost was in in-line with our budget where we usually go somewhere during off-season. . . so we felt like at the relatively same price we can go to Disney during March when the weather is great (haven't been to Disney in March since I was a teenager when my folks would take us).

Finally booked this morning! We will be at CBR 3/26 - 4/3!! Not sure what we saved with the discount...but feelin pretty great this morning!

Got BBB reserved and DS's first haircut All the dining ressies I wanted, including CRT and LeCeilier, life is GOOD !! lol.

March seems like an eternity away for me, but I'm so dang excited!!! We were just there in July (still working on my TR), but I'm dying to go back. It's a disease really! We just bought DVC and can't wait to use it! The kids don't know - we are surprising them. We'll say we're going to FL to visit my SIL, and tell them, it just isn't in the budget to go to WDW. We need to save our money but we can do this cheaper. I'm not sure they'll buy it, since whenever we go to FL, we HAVE to go to WDW!!! But they still won't know until we go!

We stayed at CBR in January 2008 and LOVED it. The pools are great, the rooms have been refurbed, the food court is good. I hope the weather is warm so you can enjoy the pools! We really thought it was terrific! I'd stay there again any day. We liked POR too though!! I guess they all have their benefits and disadvantages.

This trip we only get four nights, but we've taken a lot of shorter trips, so it's no big deal. We're going to enjoy it as much as possible!! We're going to celebrate both girls' birthdays, the trip is right between them! We've got ADRs for Boma dinner, Princess Storybook Dinner, Tony's, Boma breakfast and Tusker House breakfast.
Our last trip we skipped AK altogether (last two trips actually!) so we really want to enjoy that park this time. We're probably going to skip DHS this time. We don't do that much there - not into RnR or ToT.
Looking forward to the Flower and Garden festival - have never done that before. We've never been for any special events like that - just the Christmas stuff last December. Boy do I miss that!! It has been just about a year now, and I'm missing it. So today I put up decorations at home while listening to Disney Christmas music!!!

Is anyone else surprising their kids? (we never have before, but DD9 says she wants to be surprised next time) Is the trip a Christmas present?

Myself 32, DW 30, and DS6. DW has been before but for me and the DS, this will be our first Disney trip ever. I think I'm just as big a kid as he is about all this.

I wish we could surprise the kiddies but I am just too much of a blabbermouth when it comes to stuff like this I cannot keep all of Disney excitment in and the kids know whats up easily ! To all that keep it a surprise that is great though

This is part of their Christmas present...A large part of their gifts this year are Disney themed, including new luggage sets for each of my children to get them excited about things.

I have never surprised my DD with the whole trip, but do little surprises along the way in WDW....I make up little invitations or notes that she wakes up to that day.
this time we are going to Discovery Cove & swim with the dolphins
the Wild Africa Trek tour in AK
Grandview Tea at GF
and if I can the Wishes Dessert Party - haven't opened up dates past Jan yet
I love having her anticipate if "today" will be a surprise day or not!
