Thats right, I thought it was in late Feb but I guess they moved it.

I have never surprised my DD with the whole trip, but do little surprises along the way in WDW....I make up little invitations or notes that she wakes up to that day.
this time we are going to Discovery Cove & swim with the dolphins
the Wild Africa Trek tour in AK
Grandview Tea at GF
and if I can the Wishes Dessert Party - haven't opened up dates past Jan yet
I love having her anticipate if "today" will be a surprise day or not!

Not sure how old your DD is but my DD and I did the tea at GF a few years ago....she was maybe 6 or 7. We had the best time!! Hubby played golf and the girls had tea! Such great memories!

Thats right, I thought it was in late Feb but I guess they moved it.

Yeah, they moved the Princess half marathon to that last weekend in Feb. So the ESPN events got moved a week later than in past years, March 3-6 for 2011.

Its a nice bonus for our trip; we started out planning just for Flower & Garden, and now we have ESPN the Weekend and a Tigers spring training game at WWoS too.

Not sure how old your DD is but my DD and I did the tea at GF a few years ago....she was maybe 6 or 7. We had the best time!! Hubby played golf and the girls had tea! Such great memories!

She turns 11 on our first day in the world!!! we've done "tea" at other places but never in WDW!

we are also looking forward to the Flower and Garden fest, happy we have 11 days in the parks to be able to spend more time seeing the little things, no commando trip this time

Please add us. We will be there Mar 13 -18 staying in a 2 bedroom at OKW. There will be me, my wife, my MIL,my nephew, his wife and 2 girls aged 4 and 2. Should be lots of fun.

Sounds great I wonder if DH could handle the two younger ones while my older DD and I do this...hmmm LOL. I've always wanted to try it but can't with the younger ones.

Also, sorry for your loss We lost my Brother who was also named James...

Thank you Mandy, we get by each day the best we can! sorry you lost your brother. The holidays are going to be pretty tough, but am going to just do them...my new motto " It is, what it is" !

on a happier note, have your DH bring the little ones back to the hotel so you can have that special time with your DD, I'm sure she'll love having the time with you!!

It's very hard...I can only imagine for you and your DD. If you ever need someone to just vent to I'm here and somewhat understand.

My Brother was my best friend and I miss him dearly but you are right...we just have to keep chugging along, esp. for our children. After my Father passed and then 9 months later my Brother I just had this feeling that I needed to live my life to the fullest. So now we do a lot of family trips and Disney.

I know it sounds cheesy but instead of getting that new car or having some fancy boots I'd just rather take my money and do Disney...since family memories are what lasts

This trip will essentially cost me an arm and a leg but for me its go big or don't go LOL.

I agree about going to disney.....this trip is a lot of $$ too, but it is our happy place and we are celebrating my DD 11th bday. we usually go every 3 years so I can "justify" spending the $$. we love looking back at our trip scrapbooks, this will be tough without my DH but are bringing his stuffed goofy with us in his memory
