Hi everyone!!! OK, so during my dates of stay (March 15-2) the international cheer competition is happening. Looks like their main competition days are March 19th and 20th and then they have a celebration party at AK from 9 PM to midnight.

Anyone happen to know WHERE they actually do their competitions? I am going to try to plan my park days (and may need to try and move around ADRs if need be) to avoid the masses of cheerleaders.

This registration info makes it sound like they are actually having victory party at DHS, not AK.

Last year they had the competitions at DHS on the Indiana Jones stage. We knew nothing about it last year and got off the boat and took 2 steps and saw what looked like a sea of cheerleaders. Even during Christmas week I never saw the DHS gates so crowded. We quickly headed to the buses and went to another park. We never saw them again though. Well we did at the worst possible place the AIRPORT!! We luckily got to share a plane ride with them. That was pure torture. There was 3 different squads there and they were not playing nice. I blame the parents for sitting there and laughing at them being overly loud and annoying and knocking into people walking by trying to show off their stunts. If it wasn't the last flight out that day we were thinking of giving up our seats it was that bad.

We are still waiting for fares to hopefully drop a bit. Hoping to book either this afternoon or tomorrow as I think this is when they are most likely to drop (crossing fingers!!)

Glad I am not alone. This trip was up in the air so long that I had to sit and watch airfare climb. Then stupid me hesitated and didn't buy on thursday when we found out we could definatly go and friday they jumped up $40 each way. Now I am waiting for who knows what. I keep hearing tuesday is a good day so I am waiting.

DD & DW were thinking about going to see some of the competitions, but decided against it. IIRC they said they would be taking place at the Wide World of Sports complex for that particular competition.

ETA: I just noticed this is a different competition, a week after the one DW & DD were looking at. However, this one is still listed on the WWOS event calendar, so it may be taking place there, as well.

Oh I am hoping. Yesterday they didn't budge hoping today they go down and not up. I know whats going to happen I am going to buy and then it will go down. We are flying Spirit and I am a $9 fare club member and until last week I was getting deals daily and now that I need to buy airfare they have completely stopped. This is nuts. I tried SW and the fares are over double plus I would have to drive 40 more minutes to the airport. UGHHHHHH
