*OFFICIAL MARCH 2010 THREAD* - Lets countdown together!

Next month we all go to Disney!!!!

And February is a short month :lmao:

I'm going back and forth with - do i make ADRs or not??? I'm going to be there the majority of the time by myself and am pretty flexible when it is just me :) I do like the idea of not having a care in the world and having to be anywhere at a certain time. But I don't want just hot dogs and hamburgers. Or do I make some ADRs and cancel them if I need to???

The motion that your feet make when walking fast while wearing clog style slip-ons and flip flops, in order ton keep the shoes from flying off your feet, puts strain on certain calf muscles. You don't notice this right away, but after 3 days.... :headache:

I know exactly what you mean! And yet, I continued to wear flip-flops in the parks, hahaha! I'm bringing sneakers with me in March, though. I sometimes wear ballet flats, which aren't great to be in all day (but are better than the flip-flops), but I haven't decided what outfits I'm bringing so I don't know if I'll have any. Probably just sneakers for me!

Yes ADR's. That's if you're going to eat something sitdown. However, there are two sit down restaurants that I can think of that don't take ADR's, Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club resort and ESPN Zone at the Boardwalk. You however, will not be limited to hamburgers and hotdogs if you decide to go for spontenaity. Yak & Yeti has a walk up counter with Asian choices in the AK and there is a QS spot called Tamu Tamu in Africa that I like. It has burgers, but I always get the tuna wrap. Tamu means sweet in Swahili, which I find ironic since there isn't much sweets on the menu. The quick service restaurants at EPCOT are superior. In particular, the QS in Japan, the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco (YUM), the QS lake side restaurant in the Mexico Pavilion, Yorkshire Fish and Chips at the England Pavilion. Noodle Station in Magic Kingdom has descent fare. If however, you need quick service and you're in the Magic Kingdom, try hopping the monorail to the Contemporary, the Poly or the Grand. All three have very good QS choices and you won't waste any time. I can't personally recommend a QS at DHS because I didn't care for the CBS Commisary, we had greasy burgers at the Back Lot Cafe (I think that's its name). DHS is better for table service.

Now that said, I've found that resorts restaurants can more easily do a walk-in than Park table service locations. We walked right into Shutters at Port Royale at the CBR with no ADR and were seated within 5 minutes, but that won't happen in the parks. If you do end up making some reservations and have to cancel, call dining asap, so they can make someone's day magical by having an opening. I once gave up reservations at the Liberty Tree Tavern for a Character dinner because I was tired of paying $16.99 for my then 5 year old to eat practically nothing. The cast member at dining said "are you sure? this is very popular". I said "oh yes, please make another family happy!". She said that I was going to make somebody's day. That made me feel good.

Woohoo!

I'm down to counting days, not months.

27 days to go!

SO excited! :woohoo::cool1::yay:

I need a little Disney magic to cheer me up today. Two of my bank accounts were compromised by thieves over the weekend. I've already had accounts frozen, received replacement cards and made claims on the fradulent withdrawals. Yuck! The banks were great to deal with, unfortunately I think they deal with this kind of situation a lot.

So, any pixie dust floating around would be great. I'm just glad if this had to happen, it happened at home, where it can be resolved quickly. Guard those pin numbers and be careful what machines you use.

That kind of thing scares me. :scared1: Glad to hear the banks helped you. It does happen a lot. (I work for a bank) That is probably the reason that I am buying prepaid visa/mastercards for our trip. That way they can't steal anything from me. We are getting low dollar amounts on a couple different cards. (The kids each get 50 dollars on there own and so do us 'adults', and a couple other just in case cards)

How invasive:sad2:

I am so sorry you have to go through all this. You just close your eyes and repeat this phrase "Me and my family will be in Disney World next month and all this stress will be ancient history"

Now I'll wave my wand:wizard:

and hopefully this gave you a little smile:goodvibes

Hmmm we are at 36 days and we have not gotten any Mickey Mail. :( I hope it comes soon! SHould I be worried?

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. Well, you are at least looking at the bright side. You are dealing with this before your vacation and hopefully will be able to get the paperwork out of the way and then be able to chill at the Poly next month.

And I also hope that you aren't going to have to pay for any of that. I know that credit card companies will guarantee that you won't have to pay but I've got no idea about banks.

Well I finally started a pre trip report the thread is at the bottom if you want to visit. We are 24 days away from starting our Journey and 26 until we are in the world:banana:

YEAH we made our final payment on our trip!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: We tell the girls on Valentines day:lovestruc hope their as excited as I am!:cloud9:

Sorry about your bank accounts that's always a pain I left my wallet in the cart at the store or some one took it while I was bagging my groceries last fall that's always a time consuming hassel.

Hope things get better. pixiedust:

Nah...:goodvibes

Last year mine came 3 weeks out. However if you don't get it by the time you hit day 20 I would call Magical Express and tell them to send another packet.

So jealous of all of you going in early March.. I have to wait until the 22nd! Can't wait though, celebrating Spring Break and my boyfriend's birthday! :cool1:
