**** official june 2015 thread! **** come check in!

We are going 2/2-2/7 and again 6/6-6/10. Thank goodness we are getting AP's. June will make up for all the February refurbs.

June 25-July 2 at the Desert Inn and Suites, with 2 days in San Diego before heading to Anaheim. Can't wait!

We are headed there June 8th through the 17. One day at beach, Universal Studios and SeaWorld and five days at Disneyland. Staying at Best Western Park Place Inn. Bringing my mom (who hasn't been in 19 years), my 19 year old daughter, 15 year old daughter, and 4 year old son--1st time for him. So excited!! We haven't been since 2008 and have dreamed about going back since then!!!

We were planning on coming in April for my son's 5th birthday but then we found out we were expecting in April! So June it is. We will be there the last week from the 22nd to the 26th.

We are tentatively planning 6/14 through 6/19 staying at the DLH. DDs really want to experience the Monorail slides since they loved CA Streamin' two years ago. So ready for June!!

Just added several more folks to our list! Looks like the week of 6/14 is going to be a popular one at DLR for us Disboards people! :cool1:

So what are everybody's thoughts in terms of which parks you're going to hit up on which days during your stay? I'm seriously considering going back to our plan of staying at Hojo's for the entire time instead of doing a split stay between Camelot Inn & PPH, plus getting an AP to get the 20% off Hojo's AP rate.

If I go the AP route, then we'll probably do:
Mon - start @ DL
Tues - start @ DCA
Wed - day off
Thurs - start @ DCA
Fri - start @ DL

Even though we'll be within walking distance of the park entrances, as the week progresses, I am starting to doubt my family's ability to get up early enough to be there for a 7am EMH or Magic Morning entry! :-)

We are going either Saturday afternoon to Wednesday, or Sunday to Thursday. Our first day to use our Magic Morning will be Tuesday...hope I can get everyone up!

If we do the half day Saturday we will probably start at DL to see how busy it is. Hop over to DCA if it's crazy, but end up in DL for fireworks.

If we start on Sunday, we'll start in DL, and probably spend most of the day there...maybe hop to DCA if it's busy, but end up at DL for the evening parade and fireworks.

The rest of the time we'll start wherever the early entry people aren't starting! Then hop around.

I'm nervous about the 7am EMH and MM as well! It's me and my boyfriend. Although, we are coming from the east coast, so our first morning should be easier. But then the last 4 park days are after we've spent a few days in LA, so I fear we will have adjusted. We are not morning people either. Here's what I'm thinking:

Saturday June 13 - MM at DL (will have access from multi-day ticket even though not on site), Fantasmic dinner package at Blue Bayou (this is my bday, so want to celebrate!)
Sunday June 14 - Tuesday June 16 - in LA with friends
Wednesday June 17 - check in to GCV, EMH at DCA (if we stick with our current plan of staying Tues night at a close motel) - but this will be tough
Thursday June 18 - regular entry DCA or DL (if DL, starting with stuff that's not open for early entry)
Friday June 19 - EMH DCA
Saturday June 20 - regular entry DCA, or EMH at DL if we can get up

Honestly, I think even the 8am entries are going to be tough the further into the trip we get. If we can try to keep ourselves on an early rise/early to bed schedule while in LA (as though we're still on east coast time), it will be easier, but since we will be with friends who live in LA, I'm not all that confident that we will be able to do it.

We aren't all that concerned about the early entries to DL, as Peter Pan is not a priority. Hoping to hit all the FL stuff w/o FP our first day on that MM. We are more concerned about the fact that Toy Story Midway Mania at DCA does not have FP and that is our favorite ride. We'd like to be able to get in as many rides on that each morning as possible before lines build.

We are Disneyworld regulars, Disneyland first timers, so this is all new to us. We've been to the World so many times that we tend to sleep in, go to the park for a few hours making use of FP (now FP+), relax at the pool most of the afternoon, and then go out for dinner and possible a few rides at night. We've been there done that, so we don't make hitting everything a priority. We know we'll be back. But for the Land, I'm in panic mode, worried that this may be our only trip ever, and wanting to make sure we can do everything. I'm trying to tell myself that even if we don't get up early every day, we have enough time that we will be able to manage. We just aren't used to waiting in a line if it's more than 20 minutes (yes, spoiled), and I know we won't have that choice if we don't get up early. I may try to do at least 1 sleep in day, maybe Thursday June 18.

Another twist is that our LA friends want to come to the parks with us for 2 days. We don't know which ones yet. They will be getting a hotel close to the parks, and I can list them on my DVC reservation for EMH, but not sure they will be up for early mornings either!

Sorry for the long, rambling post. As you can tell, this is seriously stressing me out!

Here is our schedule:

June 15th (Monday): Arrive, check in to DLH, swim, DTD, etc.
June 16th (Tuesday): DL
June 17th (Wednesday):DCA
June 18th (Thursday): DL
June 19th (Friday): DCA
June 20th (Saturday): DL until the evening, then leave and check in to the Knott's berry farm hotel (where we will go the next day).

We plan to use EMH everyday and also take mid-day breaks at our hotel. We don't have park hoppers, so we will just be sticking to one park per day. We hope all goes well!

I am going to use Ridemax on this trip. Used it on our trip two years ago and it helped us not wait more than 20 min for any particular ride. We may skip Peter Pan this time but the rest of the FL rides are definitely a priority.

If I don't get an AP, then my thoughts are to do it this way:
Mon: start@DL. Hop over to DCA to get RSR FP's. See fireworks.
Tues: MM @DL. Spend entire am@DL. Lunch@Carnation Cafe. Midday break.
Wed: day off. Sleep in. Rest. Pool time. Maybe see a movie. Dinner w/my sister (she is joining us for wed-fri am)
Thurs: rope drop@DL. Midday break. Dinner@Blue Bayou. See Fantasmic! Kids stay w/my sister in her room@PPH. DH & I get a date night.
Fri: rope drop@DCA. Check out of hotel by 11am. Put kids' overnight bags in a DL locker. 7-8pm, leave DL and drive to Big Bear.

Ridemax sounds like something I need to look into. I see they have a 90 day subscription, and a yearly. I'm guessing if I buy the 90 day in April or May, that would be sufficient? Should I buy it as I'm 90 days away from the last day of my trip?

I think that the 90-day subscription is definitely a-ok! I went with the year-long subscription because messing around with the itineraries keeps my DL addiction at bay and I don't bug my DH with all of the details. :rotfl:

What helped our family w/Ridemax is we used it as a general guideline. Sometimes, we skipped the next ride on the list if we were running behind or if we didn't feel like doing it then and wanted to take a break. I thought it was well worth the money spent on it. I also tried Touring Plans that same year and didn't like Touring Plans at all....it would have scheduled us to go on rides during EMH that wouldn't even be open (Tiki Room, for example)!

We are going June 8-11 and staying at The Camelot! It's our first time going for 4 days. My one must do for this trip is to see the Aladdin show at DCA because for some reason we have never seen it and we have gone 3 times in the past 5 years! My oldest is also finally past that 40in mark so we are super excited for him to try out some new rides.

becks59 - just added you! We're going to be at DL during that timeframe, too! We've never seen Aladdin either and are really looking forward to it.

Switched our reservation from a split stay at Camelot Inn & PPH to 5 nights at Tropicana. Both Camelot & Tropicana have a deal right now through Jan 2016 where you get 20% off total room rate if you stay 5 or more nights.

So I got the room for $99/night (not including tax or $9.75/day parking)!! Total lodging costs for the week are going to be $579.15! WOOT!! :cool1: We'll miss the Hojo pool, but at a savings of $300, that's a lot of food & souvenirs!

Hello Junies! We'll be at VGC 6/21-6/26. So far it's just DH, DS10, DS8 and I. More planning to come...
