*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Back from a hectic, week long business trip and now I can really begin the countdown. 14 days to go! :woohoo:

Our magic bands have been delivered and I will work on customizing them this weekend. I also pulled down the suitcases and I'll start packing this weekend as well. I can't believe that we're this close to our first trip to WDW. I cannot wait!!!!!!

Thank you for visiting our Music City! Weather was definitely high and low.

I pulled our suitcases out last week when I went to Oklahoma City. Now I have them sitting in my room--what, oh what, can I start packing? And we still have just under 30 days.

Our Magicbands were just customized! 30 days and 1.5 hours to go!

But that also means I should be choosing FP+ rides at midnight, right? Only my Travel Agent (a good family friend) hasn't gotten back to me yet about how to do it or which ones to choose based on the list I sent her of our ride preferences. She said not to do it until she emails back. I'm not sure if she's going to try and do it herself or if I should go in and do it. I'm used to taking care of everything myself but she asked if she could plan this for us and I didn't want to be mean and say 'no'. Now I'm actually stressing.

Should I just go in and make choices myself? I know A&E will go fast, but what about other rides? BAH! I knew the old FP system way better.

If you are staying on site you can make your fact passes 60 days out. I would make them yourself. I am also a travel agent for Disney. Just let her know your making them. You do it under mydisneyexperience.com. Have you registered there?

Hi all! We just decided yesterday afternoon that we'd head to Disney next month, so I'm a little late to the group! This is my 4th trip - DH and I took our kids (DD5, DS2) on their (& DH's) first trip last August to celebrate DH's return from Afghanistan, and are surprising them this time because he's going to have to deploy again this fall. :( (For the record, they know about the deployment, not Disney.)
Our dates are June 14-19 @ ASMovies. We're planning on spending all but 1 day at MK - we planned visiting 1 park a day last trip but somehow always ended the night at MK. I'm incredibly excited about this trip and am already struggling keeping it secret! We're stationed at Ft Riley, KS, and are driving the 2 hours to Kansas City to have a Father's Day brunch with the in laws. When we leave to "go to our hotel" we're going to tell the kids that instead of staying in KC, they get to go back to WDW!
Super excited to be a part of this group! :cool1:

Yes, I did. I was able to customize our MagicBands. When I looked on the one page it said we would be able to choose ours at 30 days out, most likely from booking last minute. Honestly, we didn't book until about three days ago. I can see the option to book if necessary. *edit* We ARE staying onsite at Pop Century.

My TA emailed today and our travel documents are ready to be picked up! Cant believe we are getting closer to our trip. Granted we are still 32 days away, but that is still close to me. There have been some shows on DestinationAmerica about Disney (today was Ultimate WDW and one about the resorts). A co-worker and close friend of mine is also going with his family so we are excited to have our own mini-meet while we are there.

Oh ok! A last minute trip must be fun but stressful lol! I would book, she can always change for you if needed.

I recorded these today! Watching now! 32 days is close.

It is!! If the flights weren't free (from a bad flight situation last year) then we wouldn't be making it. Thank you for the input! I think I'll at least try to grab a few headliners we know we want to make sure we have them at at least some point in the day.

Also, Oodalally13, just wanted to say I like your screenname. Find myself saying it now and then after a walk in our woods nearby.

Hahahaha. It is my school "curse word". (burns self with glue gun) Oodalally that hurts!!!! Now that I think about it, I might show that movie while we are working on our projects in Floral Design class. (I find my high school kids focus better on what they are making when some kind of childhood cartoon show is playing!)

Hah, that's great! :rotfl: High school classes definitely seemed to go better when we watched cartoons. My go-to curse is "Bludger!" like the one ball from Quidditch in Harry Potter. (Drop a box on my foot at work....again.) "*squeal of pain* BLUDGER!!" Oh, and 'gor-ram' from Firefly.

We've hit the 1 month mark today. Everything is done but the packing (and some shopping for the packing). MagicBands should be on their way soon, as will our Disney packet. Wearing Mickey tie to work today to mark the occasion. So close, yet...

I know what you mean! We are 4 weeks out today and there's a part of me that is worried about getting everything done before I go - not trip related, but that too - and a part of me that just wants it to hurry up already! I must admit, the hurry up side of me is dominant now :rotfl:

It's the end of the school year, which officially ends 3 days BD (before Disney), and there's a tremendous amount to do in and out of the classroom. Pre-vacation to-do list has to be squeezed in wherever there's a spare moment or two. At least the time will seem to speed by, as long as it slows down once we are at WDW.

Hello! Newbie to the forums and now this thread. I have literally just booked a fortnight offsite this morning! Last minute but I am so so excited.

Name: Shona
Travel Dates (if known): 04/06-18/06
Where Will You Be Staying?: Offsite
Travel Party: 1
Current Location: London, UK
Favorite Disney Character: Pooh
Favorite Disney Movie: Nope, don't know off the top of my head!
How Many Trips?: 3, this is my 4th
On-Site or Off?: Off
Best Disney Story: Let's see if I can make one this trip.
What do you look forward to most on your next trip? Just the sheer joy of being there again after so long.

So I'm a female solo traveller, staying offsite. I have travelled alone numerous times before including moving to New Zealand alone on two occasions so I'm not worried at all about that aspect. I'm still not great at eating alone but can do it and will no doubt get over it after a couple of goes again!

Not hiring a car, can't justify the expense on my own when you include petrol and parking charges and given that I live in London, waiting on buses is not a new or tedious pursuit.

I haven't ever done a theme park on my own though but on previous trips with family I was the baby and often ended up queuing on my own for rides as my older brother and step brothers would be off doing their own thing and my mum and step-dad had no desire to be shook up like a milkshake so I'm actually really looking forward to the solo park aspect a lot. Also, not to bum everyone out or go into detail, my previous trips are a bit tainted and I don't have a lot of memory recollection so this is an opportunity to put all that right after what has been a very rough year for me.

I have just about everything sorted already, it may be last minute but I am super organised! Just the little bits and bobs left to sort out like plasters, safety pins etc. Got everything else ordered. Oh and hopefully making myself some more clothes for the trip, had to order a new sewing machine as my old one has decided not to play the game, that's very last minute indeed!

So hi and thanks for having me :wave2:

I wish you the best on this trip! Hope it doesn't become "tainted". I do a lot of stuff solo too and have always enjoyed eating alone. My mom doesn't understand how I can do it. She said it bothers her to eat by herself!

It will be strange to be so far from home while at Disney that I won't be able to run home and get something I desperately need... Although I don't run home for stuff, it makes me feel secure knowing that I can.

For us at DLR, we know we can pick up little things we need at the two stores next to Candy Cane Inn. And we have our car so we could go to Target if we really had to. At WDW no car, and no way to pick up little things we may have forgotten. We are at the mercy of whatever the property stores provide.

Just finished Open House at school last night, so today it is now a race to the finish to clean up the classroom and order supplies for next year.
