Official JUNE 2009 Thread!!!

Got back yesterday or should I say very early this AM. We ended up driving the last leg of our trip because the stupid airline (Continental) wouldn't hold our connection for FIVE stinkin' minutes so we could make it! I will get my revenge because I will never fly that airline again! Plus the people in Newark were so rude and unhelpful that I scoff at the president's announcement on the plane about "customer service" being so important.

As far as the trip, we had a wonderful time. It was just DS11 and me so we were able to move quickly, use fastpasses and be at the pool in the afternoon. We enjoyed the night shows as well. The only "big" ride we didn't get to was RNR. We were at DHS on Sunday the 14th and it was packed! We did get to see alot of SW characters but we ended up leaving early.

Now back to cold and dreary PA!

I would go with the cheesecake. After the deluxe dining plan just looking at more dessert might make you positively ill!

That's kind of what I'm thinking. It would be nice if it were later in the week when we could take it home with us. We'd do the cake thing at CRT, but I'm not hauling it around the park. The slipper...I doubt my DD would let there be anything left of it...

I hope it's okay to ask this question here. I would like to get a cake or something delivered to our room when we arrive at the BC. Can I do that? Any ideas? Who do I call? TIA Hope you have a great trip.

Absolutely! They like cake orders at least 48 hours in advance. You have to call -- the email listed doesn't seem to work (I've tried it.)

This link will take you to the cake picture gallery on the restuarant board, and from there are links to the "chatter" thread where you can talk about the cakes and ask more questions!

Yes we went to Typhoon Lagoon. It was our first time at a WDW water park. My 8 yr old DS really enjoyed himself. We arrived in the morning and left by 1 PM. Cute water park by I am not a sun and sand princess. Luckily found a spot in the shade. We are just as happy at the resorts' theme pools so I don't think we will be adding the water park option. It was nice to try plus we did Disney Quest. It was fun but once is enough.

Sherabby: We live in the South Hills (Dormont).

Did you like Disney Quest? I was thinking of taking my son one afternoon. I got my dh a one day ticket to IOA and US. He is a thrill ride lover and we would rather do the water parks.

A Lime Green Mickey Head (aka LGMH) can be found at Home Depot. It is an Alien Green paint chip sample. If you go to the paint section at HD, there is a spot for Disney pain. Alien Green is the official color of the DIS. I take two Mickey heads, cut them out, glue them together, write my DIS username on them and then laminate them. I then attach it to my park bag so other DISers can spot me!

Oh very cool :) I was totally picturing painting Mickey Ears lime green or something lol!

I'll have to do this!

My dh is a red head from Canonsburg, PA! We'll be there on Sunday! It does look like the temps go down a small bit for next week with that daily chance of rain. Did you go to any water parks? How crowded were they?

I'm a red head from Bethlehem PA! LOL We leave Saturday. I'm armed with three cans of sunscreen...one for me, one for my red head DS and 1 for my dh and DS who don't burn, to share! LOL

Bring plenty of bottled water with you or plan to buy lots while you are there to stay hydrated! We just got back on 6/14 and I have never seen so many people that had passed out from the heat before! We went into the First Aid center at Magic Kingdom to get a bandaid and there were about 5 people recovering from the heat in there. Then a few days later in Epcot the EMT crew carried a lady away that had passed out in Norway (Luckily my hubby caught her fall as she was about to fall on him). On Sunday before we left 2 people passed out in one of the Star Wars character line at Hollywood studios. One of the CM's told us that it is not usually this hot this early in June. PLEASE DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!!

I have a red headed daughter too, i suggest doing water rides to cool them off and having late lunch early dinner to get out of the heat, or going back to the hotel.
my dd overheats easy so she is wearing alot of tanks, has a portable fan and i have 6 cans of 80+ spf! I tried to stay away from cotton and do linen but easier said than done. When all else fails i throw her into a double stroller i rent and wheel her bootie around! shes 8 but i dont care i have gotten looks before like shes too big but its alot of walking and by day 5 they are tired!

BTW-------31 hours!!!!! but whos counting

Okay, I'm going to say the same thing again except the count down is shorter. We leave tomorrow morning to stay overnight near the airport then we fly out Saturday morning!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes :rotfl: Now I'm getting clothes ready.:laundy: Have fun everyone.

My son's team won their game last night! Tonight's game is at 8pm! I'm so excited for him and I sure hope the weather holds up for the rest of the week. The championship will be on Sat if all goes well! Then we leave for Disney on Sunday.

We enjoyed DisneyQuest just to have a break and to see what it was like but it is a video gamer's dream especially for boys. We spent 2 1/2 hrs there. Enough. My one rule was that we only do the games/virtual reality games which are unique and not the ones we see at local arcades. If your son doesn't know about it skip it unless you do have the water park & more option.

We saw 2 adult red heads burnt as lobsters at MK. They probably were so sick. One of them could not walk. Sunscreen, Sunscreen

We leave in the morning for Florida. My BIL has a boat and we are going to go out on Saturday and enjoy the St. John's and fish. We leave his place early on Sunday morning headed for POR! I cannot believe we are almost on vacation. It is so needed!
Yesterday was DH's birthday. We will celebrate Father's Day and our 18th anniversary while in WDW!
My kids are soooo excited.

Off to pack!

After all the planning and struggling over where to stay, where to eat, what to do and when, how are we getting there, waht are we bringing, etc, etc, etc, IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!! YEHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Now all I need to do is call 24hrs ahead of our flight for our boarding passes and drop the dog off at the kennel for her own little vacation and be at the airport in Manchester NH for a 7:15 flight. Gosh, I hope the alrm clock goes off and we don't oversleep! Then again, little chance of that since none of us will probably sleep much that night before. I feel like a little kid again!
