Official JUNE 2008

Pressed Pennies--(1) Avoid the bight shiny pennies. Depending on what penny you use, you may get a smear of zinc (silver looking metal). In 1982, pennies were made with both copper and zinc. Use pre-1982 pennies.

I was gonna do this and saved a bunch of shiny new pennies. Should I find old ones now?

They look just as good to me. It sort of looks like a rainbow effect, if I remember correctly. It wasn't highly noticable to me, but someone might care. Dh did a few last year, but don't know where they are now.

Thanks, Suzanne. Think I'll keep my shiny ones.

School starts after labor day here. We call it the Kings Dominion law :rotfl: Won't have to worry next year, as I decided to home school DD for the next school year, since she'll only be in third grade I should be able to handle that. We have a new school board and important staff have resigned after this year :confused3 since I trusted the staff that are leaving I figured they may know something I don't and I rather not risk her education on political issues.

:worship: You are so brave! :worship: I could never home school my kids, but then I have three compared to your one! You must be truly patient! A friend of mine is home schooling her daughter. She hasn't had a hard time at all; her DD is truly a sweet child. I understand your reasoning though; we moved from one town to another just to get into better schools. Are previous school district had an excellent elementary school (a national blue ribbon school), but the middle schools and high school were just awful. We were ready to move anyway and were able to find the house that fit our needs perfectly. But we were fortunate and it all worked in our favor; that doesn't happen for everyone, though.

I am truly excited about our trip. I am so ready now!

We tried some older ones at a State Park a few weeks ago (to test out the theory) and they didn't turn out as well as the newer ones.... I think we'll stick to the newer ones or try to shiny up the old ones (if I have time w/ the 1,000 other things I need to get done before we leave!!!)

We fly out of Texas in 15 days. Can't believe it! Unlike all of you organized dis'ers, I have thousands of things still to do!:laundy:

MLA1977--We will be there the same time as you but at different resorts. Maybe our paths will cross at the parks!

We are doing a 3-night cruise in between our Disney Stay, just got the final documents, luggage tags, etc. and checked in on line.

See some of you very soon!:rotfl:

Thanks for letting us know! :thumbsup2 I can't remember how many penny press machines they have, but I know that we did ours in the Grand Floridian by the 1900 Park Fare entrance. Does anyone else know where others are located - specifically those in the MK? :goodvibes

Everyday I send a text to my DH telling him 1 month from today were going to be ______. Were eating @ ______. We are going to see ______. I am bouncing off walls...I have so many things I should be doing but all I wanna do is DIS and PLan. You would think that since I go so often and was just there in Oct I would not be so pumped up. This is so different from my minnie trip in Oct. We only went for 3 days and I was happy to be going but it was like no big deal...I wasn't excited, I hardly planned, But I had a great time while we were there and it ended up being on of my favorite trips we have taken to WDW. This time I can just hardly contain myself. Last night I made the "kids" ;) Mac-n-cheese...with using Mickey and pals Pasta...lol. I bought disney Coloring books and my kid sdont even care about coloring anymore. I bought the Mickey frozen pizza's for the kids (they really were for the kids this time). I'm just "Giddy"...lol...(I finally got to use that word!)

I email my DSisIL every morning with an update that states how many days until we leave for WDW along with some various pictures of WDW! :rotfl: See, your not the only one - I'm "giddy" too! ;)

Now I have not cooked Mickey meals, but I think that I am going to look for those Mickey frozen pizzas!

The Disney Freaks from Texas have 21 days to go! We're ordering our Grand/Magical Gathering shirts this weekend. We're ready to go!:woohoo:

Homeschooling really is wonderful. I homeschool my 3 kids, ages 5, 8, 9. To me the most stressful time is teaching them to read then its smooth sailing after that. We love the freedom it gives us, like going to Disney in the "off-season". The only reason we are going in June this year is because we're meeting my step-sister whose kids go to public school. Another great thing about it is that you can cover a days worth of lessons in half the time that public school does.:cool1:

There is a web site
( http://www.presscoins.com/index.php ) that lists and sometimes shows, all locations and designs of penny presses in Disney World. Looks like they are available just about EVERYWHERE--all 4 parks, water parks, resorts, Downtown Disney, you name it. Looks like there are about 60 in Magic Kingdom alone!!
My "hobby job" is a card store, so when a new roll of 2008 pennies came in, I bought them and have been adding the 2 quarters needed to pay for them whenever I get can. Guess I better buy another roll of new pennies, huh?!

I send a "POTD" Picture of the day ( code in case big brother is checking emails :rotfl: ) to co-workers and family with a count down...Some think I have lost my mind and the rest know I have... it's all good... :lmao: Sometimes I get busy doing actual work and forget, til I get an email asking fot the POTD...

Speaking of which I have not sent out the POTD for today... :scared1:
