Official JUNE 2008

46 days and counting!!!!!! this is my first disney resort trip (my father took be when i was 17) purchased on my own -

i am going with my girlfriend, who might find something very special on her finger :-D

we are staying at pop june 20 - june 24, and all my ADR are all made -

Kona, Liberty Tree Character dinner, mama melrose and capn jacks.

shes never been to disney world, so she is unbelievably excited (as am I)

i really enjoy this forum - i had no idea so many people frequent disneyworld as much as everyone here - i already see myself going on a yearly trip to experience all the different resorts (carribbean, polynesian and animal lodge stick out to me :-) )

pop looks bright and fun (not as "romantic" as i would like it to be) but we are both really actively, energetic people (not to mention budget dicated this trip ;-) - i am glad that pop is one of the more highly regarded value resorts

i am addicted to this site...... i cant stop reading!!!!!

Only 30 more days NOW!!! :yay: :yay:

we'll be using most of FED refund to may off the trip too....(the rebate check is going to a new front stoop and door need something for our real home too)

I'm looking forward to putting clothes in suitcases...

crossing off the numbers on our WDW countdown calendar....

Waking up at 5:30 in the morning to get ready to go to the airport....

stepping outside at MCO and smelling that FL air and seeing palm trees....

getting on board the DME bus and seeing the sign "Welcome to WALT DISNEY WORLD"....

more to come!

OK...all I do now is eat/sleep/drink DISNEY planning. Everything is planned and done but I have still checked and rechecked everything to the point my husband says I am going to let myself down if I dont slack up some.
We have a weekend trip to Nashville the weekend prior to our vacation to WDW and I keep forgetting about it...How sad is that? But we are planning on doing some shopping there...Of course it is for our Disney trip...lol
Today I thinkI am going to make some Disney Travel Bingo games up. Like finding a Mickey topper, bumper sticker, etc. Any ideas for this?
What else are you all doing besides countdowns & disboards to pass time?

We had to reschedule our trip... :sad1: But at least now we get to see the 4th of July fireworks... Our trip is now scheduled for June 25 to July 5...

44 days for me!!

I've been doing a tiny little bit of shopping to prepare . . . like a small battery-operated fan, a rain poncho to replace the one that DS outgrew, new water bottles, a few Star Wars and Disney themed shirts.

 lol...
Ours is supposed to be here this week and we are planning on given all if not most of ours to Mickey and the gang too. :rolleyes1
Since our package is already paid for...it will be in the form of GAS getting there and back and t-shirts, hats, etc...Just what I need...MORE Disney shirts and hats! lol

We plan on giving all of ours to the mose as well. Trips paid for so this extra will be food and gifts!! Yeah for Free Money and good timing!

I am going in June also! June 8-13th and we (my DH and sons) are tent camping in Fort Wilderness. We'll be spending our rebate check on a tent, portable dvd player, 3 tickets (we already have 2), GAS money to get there and paying the small remaining balance on our 'room only' reservation.

My family will be there the same time as you!! We will all have lg mickey on our bags so be on the look out. We shouldn't be hard to spot there is only 16 of us that are going! Have fun!! Hope to see you there!

If you're looking for a romantic way to pop the question......how about a carriage ride and set up a special event....or you can dine at Cinderella's Castle and order the slipper dessert and surprise her that way.....either way I'm sure it will be magical for both of you....Best of luck!!! pixiedust:

That is a great idea! You know you could probably do google images for various things and then copy and paste (do you have Microsoft Publisher?) then print out the boards laminate and use like star or mickey head stickers to play over and over again!

Try finding specific Hidden Mickeys, characters, mickey head balloons, wow I think the possibilites are endless.

We're also passing the time with a homemade 30 day countdown calendar, and I'm finalizing all my lists, getings things togehter, packing lists, all the last minute stuff!

Have FUN!

Well, I finally purchased a pair of crocs; never had a pair before. Actually I got one pair for myself and one for DD. I got DD's for 24.99 and mine for only 17 dollars. I thought that was a pretty good price - is it?

We still have awhile left before we go and my almost 3 y/o daughter is already seeing commercials and yelling "My disneyword!!! I go see Tigger and Pooh!" I hate that I have to say, "Not yet, honey", but at least I get to say "soon!";)

Trublu - I'm sorry to hear of your surgery - what is the recovery time?

Jaym - Best of luck!!! WDW definitely has a romantic side to it and I am sure whatever you choose to do will be extra special!

I'm still waiting. :sad1: It better be here before we leave, he has 40 days to get it in my checking account. I plan on using it for SeaWorld tickets and to pay for my food at WDW.;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's too funny! We were one of the lucky ones - we got ours last week! But don't worry, it will be there. Have you bought anything else for the trip? I have been breaking in my Crocs. There are wonderfully comfortable, but I am a little worried about my high arch. I wore them once all day long and my arch ached a little, but it wasn't all that bad. Mine are the Beach crocs.

Are you doing alright? I haven't noticed you on the boards as much lately.

Yeah, we're below 40!!! Typically when does everyone receive their packets? I booked through AAA so I think they'll get it first.

Amy - Good luck with finals! That's so funny about calculating grades, I did the same thing! I needed a 57 to maintain my A, not much incentive there! One more final to go tomorrow night and I'm done for the semester.:cool1:

kristy

Thanks! I am going to take two tests today. One of them is m/c, t/f, etc. and the other is also but we have to write an essay as well. I prefer writing because I don't get so nervous about the time! I really dislike timed tests!

Good luck to you also! Only needing a 57 is a great feeling - it sounds like that should not be too hard for you to do. :)

Oh, that's so sweet! I would definitely find a way to suprise her Disney style. I like the idea of eating at Tony's and popping the question to her there. (Tony's is the restaurant featured in Lady and the Tramp-meatball scene) But as a pp stated, definitely get a CM to help you out.

You two are coming in as we are leaving, so have a wonderful, romantic trip! You must submit your trip report to all of us here on the June board. We have to know how it goes! :)

Thank you for reminding me about ponchos! :worship: I had forgotten all about buying them - can you believe that? My brain is like swiss cheese right now, but next week, I will be one happy camper!:yay:

Wow! That is an unbelievable price! Where did you find them and what type are they? I have the Beach Crocs, but am thinking about buying another pair, perhaps the flip-flops. They look really comfortable.

Amy and anyone else. Good luck with your finals. Hope all is over painlessly and quickly so you can focus on your big trip next month!

Thinking of getting crocs for the first time. Can't relish the thought of wearing closed shoes all day. Where I live I am in flip flops almost 365 days a year!

Where does everyone buy their crocs. Is there a more comfortable/supportive style?

My teenage daughter wants the flip/flop styled crocs.

35 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Husband changed original reservation for 8 nights @ Pop to 2 nighst @ Pop and 6 nights @ Yacht Club. Deluxe HERE WE COME. :sail:

We are very excited to explore the Board Walk and SAB. The bottom line the kids are getting bigger and we want larger rooms with bigger beds. The Epcot area was our choice since our kids just love DHS.

Thanks! I am actually taking a little DIS break ;) ; I have been studying for my Constitutional Law class but needed a break and knew that this would take my mind off of the hundreds (at least it seems like that many) cases that I need to know. :headache:

I bought my Crocs at the Hallmark store in our mall. They also have them at Dillards (if you have one of those stores) and maybe Macy's. You can also order them online at Zappos.com. Mine are the Beach style but I am thinking about getting a pair of Crocs flip-flops. I saw a woman with some on the other day and they looked really comfortable and cute! They were green and pink! There is a professional style of Crocs that a lot of nurses and docs wear, but I believe that they are a completely closed toe. The Beach style that I have is closed, but there are small openings all around the front end of the shoes.

Good luck searching for them. Check your local sporting goods stores. They have them at Academy and Oshman's.

I have 2 pairs of the Croc flip flops and I live in them. I wear them around like house shoes I love them so much. I even have a Lime green pair with a hot pink footbed.

30 days and Pop here we come!!!!! :cool1:

Leave some magic for us!! DD (11) and I arrive for our second mother/daughter trip to All-Stars! That Orlando commercial where the mom turns into a little kid- that is SOOO us! I turn 11 when I'm at Disney (except with credit cards!):woohoo: June 21-28! CAN NOT WAIT:scared1:

OK, well you know that commerical with the kids not sleeping and the lil boy says he is to excited to sleep and then it shows the parents and they are doing the same thing...Well that is so me right now and I still have until the 14th of next month before I get there...Ughhhhh!
Ok, so anyway, I know I am rambling but I know you all "get it" So I was going to do a pre-trip report and I thought I would share it with you all first and see if there is anything I am over looking or that maybe you can help me add that lil something extra too.
Ok, yes I have already started packing. Everything I buy new for vacation goes straight into the suitcases and that is where it stays.
I have made my travel bingo games for my kids for the trip down. I love the idea of using disney stickers to mark them so I think I will pick some up while I am out this weekend. I am also going to start picking up some cheap lil gifts/surprises for on the way down...My kids are DS8 and DD14, so it will be intersting to see what I end up with.
I haven't been to home depot yet but that is on my list of things to do...gotta get those LGMH's. I also am going to get lime green poster board and really do up our window at ASMusic for Father's day...I'm still stuck on the goofy theme...but that's my husband...Goofy. I already have his gift bought, wrapped and in the suitcase too.
I have made all our ADR's...were trying to only eat in the parks this time...Last couple of times we felt like every place we ate at was in a resort and felt like we were always trying to get to somwhere else...here is our adr's (again)
6/14: check in early at ASMusic...Heading for DHS aka MGM. I know it is SWW, and even though were not big fans, we all thought it was kinda neat when we went one time before. Anyway...were having dinner at 50's Prime Time.
6/15: Fathers Day...so were heading off to my DH's favorite park...AK. For a man who wont ride rollar coasters or much else he loves dinosaur...yuck...lol. Anyway, we have dinner adr for Yak & Yeti. this is a new one for us and were excited about it.
6/16: Not sure where we will start he day but we will likely take a mid day break, and maybe have a swim before heading for Epcot for dinner at Coral Reef. Last time we ate there we were lucky enough to see Mickey Scuba diving...what the chances my luck will let us see him again...???
6/17: AM EMH @ MK then breakfast at Crystal palace. We will stay in MK for a while then when it gets to crowded we will prob check out another park...nothing in stone yet.
6/18: sleep in...I am sure we will need it by this time, then off to MK for the day. Dinner at Liberty Tree
6/19: Nothing planned...take it as it comes kinda day. Prob just hit what ever park we feel like we missed the most at. Thinking about Planet Hollywood for dinner, or maybe even a late lunch. We also talked about maybe hitting House of Blues since I always say next time I wanna try there...lol.
6/20: Hanging around the pool or what ever until close to lunch then back to DHS fro lunch at Sci Fi...spend the day hitting everything then we have dinner at Hollywood & Vine with the fantasmic package.
6/21: The sad day comes around...we will head for AK for the AM EMH, breakfast at tusker house...maybe grab a few last minute rides and then...sadly we have to leave by mid day. We might grab lunch at the resort before we leave but need to get on the road for the depressing trip home.
But oh well, then I get to start planning my next Disney trip:cutie: . Maybe even a disney cruise...who knows!

Thanks for letting me ramble...ALOT!!!
