DD9 & I are doing a mother/daughter trip arriving 7/06. As a family we have been in May & June. First July trip. Know it will be hot but wondering about crowds the week after the 4th. Calendars show 8-9 for our week. Guess we'll just plan to take it easy and go with the flow. Hoping for a great trip with lots of memories!

Sounds like fun. Didn't know where you were staying, but tried to add you to the first page list. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!!! I haven't read through the whole thread but I am so excited that I am now officially going in July, I couldn't wait to join the group! DH and I have been going pretty much yearly for the past ten years (sometimes more, sometimes less). Our last trip was January. We just bought a house and have a baby on the way so we planned not to return again until summer 2014. But an opportunity came up for me to do a training and I jumped on it! Then Tom will meet me after. We are soooo excited!

I will be at the Contemporary with my training group from July 22-26 and then Tom and I will be at Port Orleans French Quarter from July 26-31.

We've been in July and August many time, including one trip over the 4th of July so we are very prepared for the crowds and heat! My first "group" thread was for our honeymoon in July 2009 and I ended up meeting SOO many DISers on that trip, many who I am still friends with. I look forward to getting to know everyone over the next couple of months and hopefully meeting some of you in the parks. I'll be the one with the big belly!!

Hey Nikki. Being FB friends, I knew you had a chance to take a trip, but that is awesome that Tom gets to come too. Sounds like a great chance for a babymoon. So excited for you. We have been at Disney the same time two times now and never crossed paths...maybe this time. :welcome: to our little group.

phew! That was a lot of updating, but I think I accomplished it all. Go away for a few days and come back to lots of new additions. Welcome to everyone.

If anyone would like to be added to any list, resort, ADR, park plans, please let me know.

Yes! I hope we do finally get to meet this time! Unlike our other trips, I don't think I'm going to plan our days because I really have no idea how much I'll feel up to doing and I I have an itinerary, ill feel like I HAVE to follow it! The only thing I have is an 'Ohana ADR on the 28th at 6:25. :)

She called me the next day to ask if I saw the post?? I couldn't stop laughing.

Anjalee- you could add the same ADRs as my sister for me. She's in charge of those. So excited I don't have to do all the work.

I did also add Sci-Fi ( not a trip to Disney w/out Sci Fi) for July 2-dinner. :)

Sounds like a great way to plan. I started to rearrange things after my mom passed away (since she was going to travel with us) and then just decided to wing some things too. I am sure you will have a awesome time no matter what.

Hello to all - Hope everyone had a great Memorial Holiday. :thumbsup2 WOW!!! what an experience traveling in Jim' and his families RV let alone driving one of the largest vehicles I have ever driven.

I only drove on the open rode and the gas mileage would put me into bankruptcy. 9 miles to a gallon and over 600.00 to fill the tank. :scared1: Both families had a super time and the girls pretended as if we were on our way to Disneyworld. :rotfl2: OH !! sorry - we went to Del Rio Texas. We swam in one of the coldest streams with rapids ever known to ME! Beautiful camp grounds.

Back to the real world - Hey everyone Disney is sooooo close.

Getting super excited!!! 43 days to go for us! We have been two times in July before - planning mostly half day at parks and half day at resort - but maybe attempting a full day at HS - we plan on doing RD and get as much as we can during AM EMH - we know that DD will love the shows there so we want to try to get as many of those in as possible! Any other suggestions for making it through a full day at HS? We have a lunch ADR at H&V and We do plan to leave by 5 - either a QS dinner at HS or back at the resort.

Fellow July Dis'ers...wondering your thoughts on the best clothing material for keeping cool at the World. I would usually think cotton but I read several comments on another thread about the various dri-fit clothing (specifically shirts.) The ones I've looked at are 100% polyester. I always thought poly was supposed to be terrible for hot weather because it doesn't breath like cotton. Seems like a silly question but trying to prepare for the weather.

I read so many posts about the dri-fit shirts, I bought a couple prior to our trip last summer. Since it had been such an unusually hot summer in my neck of the woods, I tested them out before our vacation, and I was not impressed. Perhaps they have the ability to wick away perspiration, but I honestly felt warmer when wearing them. I did bring the shirts along on our vacation, but I did not wear them in the parks. I was much more comfortable wearing light weight tees and tanks.

I have fallen behind with this thread and our forth coming trip.
37 days until we head to airport :cool1::cool1:

Travelling on the 4th July. Looking forward to seeing all the changes and updates :)

Will be keeping an eye out for fellow DISers :goodvibes

Arriving 6 July for 7 nights at POR. This will be our first time staying there and we're super excited. This will be our 4th trip in 2 years. But we're not hooked or anything like that. lol. This visit will help celebrate my return from an overseas deployment. We are so looking forward to returning to our happy place. I hope everyone has a great time during your visit.

Anyone have tips on conserving phone battery while in the parks? Do you not worry about your phone or have an extra battery? I have an extra battery but i don't want to worry about switching batteries during the day. I use my phone as a camera too. Trying to think of the best way to keep my phone charged while in the parks. Has anyone tried a charging case? I have an HTC incredible 2.
