~~*Official July 2013 Thread!*~~Our Month has Arrived!

In case anyone is interested, the park hours for July have been updated to include extra hours for certain nights at AK, MK, and HS. Some night there are extra Fantasmic shows at 10:30 pm. Also, no more Friday EMH at night for MK. Don't know if this will effect anyone's plans or not, but just to put it out there. The newest park hours are posted on the first page on this thread.

I am so ready for this winter to be over with. Two hour delay here too! And it's still on and off snow. This time last year I was raking out my garden!

I feel like I am at a standstill with any planning. I do like to plan Disney out ahead of time for obvious reasons, but since this is our first time traveling with non-Dis'ers, I have to take everyone's needs into consideration. My husband and his father really want to do the race car thing at the Disney racetrack. It is an ungodly amount of money, and I have no interest in the racecar experience. If they head off to the Racetrack for the day, a), they are going to swelter in the heat and my FIL is 76 ( seriously, the man wont stop) and b, I don't feel like doing the parks/back and forth with the kids alone. May just stay at the resort that day.

So many places I want to go and places I want to eat. Bah! Need some Disney time alone, that's why we are staying three extra days after the Inlaws leave.

Question: Are we absolutely sure that Florida residents are blacked out on Season passes during July? The entire month or only a couple weeks?

This will also be our first time making the 17 hour drive. We are renting a car as our Minivan has 100K miles on it. Has anyone else driven? I found a great 2000 mile trip thread on the DISboard I've gotten lots of advice from.

We drive! We are in Chicago and the drive is 18 hours. We do state line gifts and gas station coupons. I'll explain more when I get home. Getting my DS from preschool.

@ rebelbuddhist;

All our ADR's have been made and confirmed. I have been trying to get reservations for the Wishes desert party, but no luck yet!

It is snowing in Massachusetts AGAIN! My kids are happy for the 2 hour school delay this morning, but I'm so done with winter.

Counting the days until we arrive at SS!

I hear you! High today in Minnesota is 20. We got dumped on AGAIN yesterday.... boo to winter!

Back again! Here is a link to the post on my last trip report where I talk about state line gifts. If you look through the first 4 posts that I did (there is a table of contents) you can see all the gifts.

I am so DONE with snow too!!

Just really glad it was just a delay and not another snow day. We don't get out of school until the 26th and we 're leaving on the 29th. I thought I'd have more than a couple of days to get ready.

We drove for the first time last month. That thread is really helpful.

It's really not that bad of a drive. We stopped in VA. We wanted to make it to NC but ran into rush hour traffic.

We are driving again in 3 wks!!! :) can't wait. Hopefully we'll make it to NC this time. We are leaving earlier.

Good Evening Everyone - Can not remember what web site I ran across. I think it was a Disney Business or Disney Shareholders.. ??? DTD up for renovation and phase 1 finishing in 2016.

I think the name may change to Disney Springs. Am I dreaming or has anyone heard the same news.

I don't think I can answer any questions, but from what I understand, these threads are meant to be bit of everything. A great place to get to know each other personally (thus sharing non disney related tidbits), plan, get advice, etc. General forums might be a better place to answer specific questions as you will get a wide range of responses from a larger number of people. I enjoy these threads because they are more intimate and you are able to get to know a smaller numbers of DISers really well. I love to hear about others and what they are up to. It's in the "Doing the Happy Dance" section, after all! :)

"Doing the Happy Dance!
A place to celebrate booking your trip, countdowns to your trip, or anything else you want to announce or celebrate related to your Disney trip!!!"

I just don't know what to say. If it bothers you a whole lot, maybe just skim the posts? I view this forum as a place to celebrate with one another. I can't really celebrate with people unless I know them a little bit. I don't really think anyone is going overboard with sharing non disney news. Just little updates. I know in my post I shared about my son having open heart surgery and my job changing. Those things aren't Disney related, but they are my background. They are part of my story, which all leads to Disney. I only have previous backgrounds with a few people in this thread, but most people enjoy this site because of the relationships you build with other people who love disney. You truly would get more plentiful answers to specific questions if you post your questions in one of the other forums. There you would have hundreds of people who have already experienced their trips to give advice. Here, you have some people who may have already experienced your situation, but many more who have never been in July. Then come here to share in your planning excitement/ new news with us. You can ask here too, of course, but maybe try not to get disgruntled when people are being social and sharing their stories. I guess I just don't understand why you would want to be a part of a "happy dance" thread if you are just looking for advice/facts, and not wanting to get to know people who want to know you. :)

pixiedust:Yeah - I am starting to finally get excited about our July trip!! Got a good tax return so I know for sure it is happening - even though I did book back in August, it was touch and go for a while!!

Here are the stats: July 20 - 26 at Bay Lake Tower, our home DVC resort that we have never stayed in!! We have a 2 bedroom Lake view, and the cast is: Me and hubby, step son, and my 3 dd's, and adding on this year is my SIL and her dd!

Should be a a great time!!

I have all my adr's but not sure of the dates - will post later - all I know is that we are going to Beasts Castle for dinner!!!:cool1:

Woohoo! I am celebrating that my Bonnet Creek reservation is all reserved and confirmed in my name. :cheer2:

May I humbly suggest that some people may need an avatar update?

My trip begins in June and continues into July, so I belong to both this group and the June 2013 group.

The June 2013 has a Facebook group that I have joined and I am wondering if there is a July 2013 FB group. Sorry if it's been posted and I missed it...I did skim through all of the posts but didn't see anything??:scratchin

I dont think there is a fb thread, but I'd be interested! Maybe I can start one? What kind of stuff is posted on it?
