~~*Official July 2013 Thread!*~~Our Month has Arrived!

Sorry. I haven't been on recently. My mom (who went to Disney with the family every year) passed away so very unexpectedly on Friday morning. We are all in a state of shock. I can't believe we have lost her at the spry age of 60. Shocked is all I can say. At this point, I haven't decided whether we are still going to Disney this year....right now, I can't picture going without her. We had made all our plans, ADRs, etc. together. In the coming weeks, I will try to update the list, but if you don't see me for a while on the boards, you will know why. Thanks for understanding.

So sorry for your loss! The loss of your mother is never easy, whether expected (as mine was in July 2008) or unexpected! Take your time making decisions about the future and just take it one day at a time! Prayers & love for you and your family!

Hello! It's finally official! party:
We're flying out to Orlando from England on the 5th July- 19th July!
I'm really excited because both of the girls will have finished all their GCSE exams and we will be celebrating a "graduation" (it's a little different to America, it's the last year before they take the A-levels which is basically the equivalent to Junior and Senior year. but hey ho!) It will be really special because it signals a big step and i really want to do a trip after the many stressful exams.Nothing like Disney therapy! :lmao:
It will also be a pre-birthday trip because we unfortunately get back a couple days before their Sweet 16 on the 25th but this was the only time that would work for us. I'm really excited to see what everyone has planned!

Edit: I forgot to add that we are staying at an offsite Villa :)

We are going to be visiting the same time except we are leaving on July 20! We are driving from Tennessee and staying at a condo off site!
Have a great time!

Wow that is a jam packed vacation!
Spider-Man, HP and the Hulk are my sons' favorites and its hard to justify paying all that money for just that ( well for just one day I mean). We've been a few times for a few days and we went last year for 1 day during our "Disney" vacation. It was a lot of money b/c we needed park to park tickets.

Jam packed is right!! We haven't been on a vacation in YEARS!! Nothing is set in stone expect for deep sea fishing, beach & each Disney park at least once! I'm still debating on Universal/IOA, It is alot of money considering DH is not a park/ride person and I'm not sure DS6 will like any of it once we get there!! We would need the park to park also

We will be at MK the same day as you tiredsports.... That's our only day that's set in stone so far, July 10 at MK, Morning, then back at night. ( We're going to do skip hottest times of days in the park due to heat, small children, old people, just wont work.)

We too will probably split the time, RD till mid day, back to condo then back evenings. We haven't been since AK opened, didn't visit it and was staying with family about 45 mins away so it was always get there early, stay late this will be different for us!! Can't wait for JULY!!!!

I'm conflicted over whether to try for some character meals or not.

DS6 is more excited about deep sea fishing and Gatorland than he is Disney!! I've tried showing him the DVD, youtube, etc. All he wants to look at is the boat we are going fishing on!!

So far I can't justify spending the money for the meals if he doesn't get more excited about the parks!

What does everyone think??

I'd say don't go overboard. If he's not asking don't do it!! I've wasted my share of $$ when my kids were just not into it.
I'd even say skip Universal. There are lots of BIG rides there he won't even be able to go on. Especially since he'd rather go fishing. Lol to cute!!!

Tiredsports, I have a 6 year old son too. He never gets excited previous to Disney trips. This one is no different... He is also most excited about going to the Space Museum! I took him to a Princess Breakfast at EPCOT when he was almost 4... he literally enjoyed it more than my daughter!!! He was flirting with the princesses, they were eating him up like candy, and do you know, even three years later he wants to go back to that Princess place? And he is a boys boy, very sporty and hyper... lol!

For those of you visiting AK in July who have never been there or have never been there when it's hot, bring extra cooling supplies. I found AK to be almost too hot to enjoy in May! There was alot of walking for my kids so we had to leave because we were over heating, and the temp was about 92 and dry that day. Im disappointed we didn't get to finish it, and now we are staying right across the street at Silver Lake, so we will have easy access to AK... hope we can get over there at opening and be out before it gets outrageously hot for the day.:hippie:

I am super excited to say that my family and myself will be at the All Star Music from June 28th to July 6th.:hyper:

My DD12 and her dance team will be dancing at the Downtown Disney Stage on July 1st as part of Disney's Canada Day celebrations. Yea!

Hello everyone!!! My family just booked a trip for July 14-19! We were all set to go to Washington DC this summer, but a few things changed our (my ;)) mind.

1. Last January, our 5 year old (then 4) went through open heart surgery.
2. My school closed suddenly March 1st and my world was turned upside down. I was sent to a new school, but ended up interviewing at a museum and got a new job in a new career!
3. White House tours were cancelled, and I was disgruntled. :rotfl2:
4. Due to reasons 1 and 2 I need a vacation that I know well and LOVE!!!!

Today we booked through a travel agent for the first time! We had double excitement because we decided to get annual passes since we are going for 10 days next summer with extended family.

This trip will also be different because we usually get regular dining. We are trying to be a bit frugal and are doing quick service. Another difference will be that we usually stay value, and we are moving to moderate (this is due to the fact that we usually travel with inlaws and one of the kids book in their room. We needed a 5 person room).

I LOVE being part of a board like this, and adore reading trip reports! I may do one, but I'm not sure yet. I did a pre and post report for the last trip, but fizzled off at the end. We'll see my energy level with my new job!

I can't wait to get to know you all! :goodvibes

Good Morning - I am sorry to here about all of the challenges you and your family faced at the beginning of the year. Sounds like everything is stable and going well now.

Yes, You and your family deserve the up coming vacation. We are super glad you joined our July group and hope you have a lot of fun with us.

My DD and I have been going to Disney every year since my DD was 3 years old and we both love our vacations. From the looks of your dates, we will be at Disney the same time. Hope to see you and your family.

I think I will try to line up a Dis-Meet while there this year. I have been to a couple of Dis-Meets in the past and they are a lot of fun... Last year DD and I scheduled to meet a couple of Diser's on our own and it worked out. We were fortunate to meet Anjalee and Solana. Really neat Diser's...

We tried to meet with Anjalee in 2011! In fact, we were both at Ohana at the same time, and she even found a picture of one of her kids on my last trip report! But we didn't really PLAN. It was more of a "let's see if our paths cross" thing. I am so excited to be here!!!

Welcome Fellow Diser - Happy days are upon us... July will be here before we know it. Got to get ready....:rotfl2::rotfl::cheer2::lmao:

We met Anjalee and Solana at Poly last year... I keep looking at the first page of this thread to see how a Dis meet would work out.

Midori's friend Lucy and her mother will be joining us this year. Lucy's first visit and Kathleen's first visit since way back. I had been sharing with them how much fun it can be meeting people from the Dis-Board. They are both excited and can not believe we are so addicted to Disney.

We are a family of 4 (me, DH, DD 15 and DS 13 next month), staying at Saratoga Springs June 30 - July 8.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and kind words. It has been really difficult. My mom and I were extremely close. My brother has convinced me though that my mom would not want us to miss our trip especially since she helped plan it...that we should go and enjoy and do things in her memory. I just miss her so much.

So this morning I needed a distraction so I am trying to update all the lists. :thumbsup2:

I have updated all the lists this morning. If there is anything I missed or anyone else wants to be added, please let me know.

When posting..

1) Resorts- please post exact dates and where you are staying
2) ADRs- please post date, location, and time.
Ex. July 10- Be Our Guest @ 7:30 pm or (dinner)

3) park plans- date and location

Thanks guys for helping me keep this easy. :thumbsup2

Hi all! We are officially heading to WDW on July 10 - 17th! So excited! This will be DD2's third trip to the world... so excited! We are staying at POFQ and are attempting the DDP for the first time this trip! We have all of our ADR's set and our plans all organized. We just keep HOPING and PRAYING for an ADR at BOG at last night although I feel like it will be fruitless... we will definitely do a lunch there over the week but dinner may be out of our reach...

I'm super excited to find this thread... this waiting is impossible!

Here's some of our plans so far...
July 10 - Arrive at POFQ - Afternoon at AK - Dinner at Yak and Yeti
July 11 - MK - Lunch at BOG - all QS that day
July 12 - Epcot - Dinner at Coral Reef
July 13 - HS - lunch at 50's Primetime
July 14 - MK - Breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table (PreRD), Dinner at DD - Rainforest Cafe
July 15 - Epcot - Lunch at Akershaus, dinner at Rose & Crown
July 15 - MK - Breakfast at 'Ohana, Dinner at Crystal Palace

I think that's it so far!

Is it too early to pack? Lol!

:welcome: I added all your information to the first page

DF and I will be there pretty much the same dates (July 11 - 18) for our DFTW and Disneymoon :bride:. It still feels too far away. We've been trying to get BOG too. So far no luck. Oh well, fingers crossed.

:welcome: and congrats. We had a disneymoon. It was great!

I have another ADR. We are doing CRT July 19- lunch for my niece's b-day!!!! I am so excited. I have never been there before. It's hard when you have 2 boys. Wait til they find out that they're eating there. LOL. :)

All added :thumbsup2
