I KNOW!!! I debated and debated it but then I decided that we should use it for the ticket because my daughter does not do any thrill rides so it would be wasted..but now (of course) I am second, and third and fourth guessing myself!!!

Same here, I don't do many of the thrill rides, but that's kind of why I thought we SHOULD use it. I spend 1/2 of my days waiting for DH to ride, waiting until we can get him a 2nd FP, etc... If he could use his credits and my credits and just ride his brains out one ride after the next, I could do some shopping, he could get all his rides in, and we'd have time left to enjoy our resort and relax a little, you know? Maybe we should meet up and I'll take your daughter shopping and you all can ride with my DH

ok I need opinions on two things..
1. I bought my daughter and nephew GCs to go in their welcome letters for them to buy a special souvie with. I put 10 on each card but then this weekend I was thinking that would not be enough.. how much do you think I should put on there??

2. We have GAD passes that we are going to use and upgrade to get our tickets-since the tickets are front end loaded and it will be like 3 bucks to get another day added, I was thinking that we should go and take care of all that on Friday evening just to get it done so we are not spending precious park time on Saturday am. We have an 8:05 ADR on Sat as wel... thoughts??

1. For some reason Disney souvies always seem to cost more than I imagine. I think an autograph book for example is $11 (probably more now.) I think one day we lost our ink pen and bought one at AK. I think it was $5.00. I'm not saying that's what the kids will want to buy, I just think things at WDW are expensive. But with $10 whatever they buy should fit in the suitcase. Also, if I bumped it up, I would not let the kids "beg" me to buy them something after they spent their gift cards. I am sure your DD and DN are perfect angels and would never do that.

2. When we have purchased APs we went to the park on arrival night to get our APs activated, but it didn't cost us anything extra.

I really wish I had GAD. I didn't know we were going when that promotion was going on.

Good point! I'd say do it Friday, then!

We're in a similar situation, but when we arrive on Sunday we'll be staying for MK EMH so we would still get a few hours of use out of it that day. HOWEVER, I was looking at the threads regarding the option to get the Fast Pass thing and it sounds amazing!! A huge time saver in the summer crowds and heat, so now DH and I are debating which to do with our GAD passes

During the Year of a Million Dreams, we won those Magical FPs twice at MK, and once at DHS. They were good for one ride on each FP attraction in the park. I loved those things! But we ride EVERY ride so it was awesome for us. We found we didn't need to collect FPs because we couldn't seem to use all the Magical FPs and the FPs we had already collected for that day.

Anywho, not saying you should go for the FPs, but just relating a similar experience that we had.

We leave in 10 days - Woo hoo!

I 'think' that you have to first enter the park with your GAD pass and then you go to guest relations to 'upgrade it.' From what I've read on other threads this is the case. You have to officially activate it before it can be upgraded. So technically, if you do that on Friday, you'd be wasting one whole day of your ticket.


For anyone trying to pass some time before they leave. This is so funny!!! I haven't got up the nerve to do it yet, but we might luck out and get one of our July thread buddies!!

I've read conflicting stories for this; many have reported that you don't have to enter? I'd ask at guest relations.

We are turning ours in for a discount on APs.

It seems that the crowds aren't the typical high for July, so early touring would get you the FPs anyway.

We are starting out with a GAD pass too - then upgrading it. We are only doing three park days, so it should save us some $$!!
It says that you have to enter the park and then upgrade, but someone on another thread said something about a gazebo outside MK to do the exchange. Maybe she meant after she came back out.

Maybe a July Dis'er who's there now will fill us in!!!

Wow, you don't realize how fast this thread moves until you don't check it for a few days!!!

Hello again from WDW!! Well the sun finally came out for a little while today! The rain has been just miserable but the crowds are LOW LOW LOW!! (Well as far as July goes, anyway!)

Here are some pics from Epcot on the 4th. The WS ones were taken around 1 or 2pm and the last one is from behind the WS entrance fountain at like 4 or 5! Unbelievable! The only time it really felt crowded was the few hours before the fireworks started but we had staked out a good spot 3 hours in advance!

Well, off to Epcot, followed by dinner at Kouzzina and a night of fun at Jellyrolls!!!

Wow, where are the crowds? At Universal? Hunkering down because of the rain? I really hope that holds for the rest of the week and into next week as well!

I got my Frogg Toggs chilly pad today - pretty cool. It's 98 degrees right now and I have the thing wrapped around my neck and shoulders (it's pretty big) while watching the World Cup. It's working quite well in the heat, so it's a keeper! The only bad thing is that it doesn't have a very nice smell - hopefully that goes away over time!

DD and I are all packed - DH is not...what a surprise. I really need him to do this so I can gauge how much extra room we'll have for souvies!!!! Jolie goes to "dog camp" tomorrow - wish me luck, I HATE taking her - it's way too sad.

We're in a similar situation, but when we arrive on Sunday we'll be staying for MK EMH so we would still get a few hours of use out of it that day. HOWEVER, I was looking at the threads regarding the option to get the Fast Pass thing and it sounds amazing!! A huge time saver in the summer crowds and heat, so now DH and I are debating which to do with our GAD passes

We are doing the GAD FP instead of upgrading to AP. I fear the heat and crowds will undo us if we don't have some kind of advantage like the FP. We are not "get up early" folks...well, I am, but my DH and DD4 are not so it's just not worth it for us.

Wow, where are the crowds? At Universal? Hunkering down because of the rain? I really hope that holds for the rest of the week and into next week as well!

I got my Frogg Toggs chilly pad today - pretty cool. It's 98 degrees right now and I have the thing wrapped around my neck and shoulders (it's pretty big) while watching the World Cup. It's working quite well in the heat, so it's a keeper! The only bad thing is that it doesn't have a very nice smell - hopefully that goes away over time!

We just got the Frogg Togg chilly pads based on this board and used them at the 4th of July parade in our town. They worked really well. However, once the towels dry, they are hard and crackly. You have to keep rewetting them even to fold them to put them away. I just wonder about mildew with them staying wet all the time.

I would say i'm about 80% packed, now gotta work on getting the dogs ready for there stay at a friends house, get the cats ready, and clean the fish tanks before i go! Just a few more hours till I need to be all packed, we are leaving at 7am thursday morning and Wednesday is shot due to work.

Also wanted to share some good news I got today, went to meet with an advisor at my school (after a long hiatus i am finally going back for teaching) and I only have 5 classes left before I can graduate with a general studies degree and go into the teaching program!

That is great news. It is 103 here in MD where we live. It is realy hot. I didn't do much today either except pack for a little while and then we went shopping too. What else can you do in this heat? I don't want it to be this hot in FL but I guess it's good practice just in case it is, right?
