Tink, thanks for the showers reminder- I will work that into the plan...my daughters are very excited about Stormalong Bay. We orginally had BCV booked for 5 days and AKV for the last 5 which seemed perfect to me. I don't forsee much relaxing at Stormalong Bay, and thought that we could relax at AKV. Because we had to switch our vacation week, we are now starting at AKV. No complaints though b/c I am so excited that we were still able to book both resorts.

I need some input from my July experts on the two different philosophies: Is it better to be at the pool from ~1 - 4 or in the parks (ignoring weather circumstances). We are early morning people. Do you think that the park crowds really lessen after lunch? Do enough people leave for a break to make a difference?

I do not think the crowds lessen at all. They increase significantly from 11am on until later in the day. We do mornings in the park, stay until 12-1pm and then head back for a swim, lunch(if we didn't eat in the park) and a rest or tour of the resort. We head back in the evenings with leftover FP's and enjoy evening entertainment.

It seems like a lot of us will be at Epcot on July 4th - I am wondering if we could do a Dis meet sometime that day? Maybe at the kiosk in France for the Orange Grand Marnier Slushies?!!

Oh, how tempting! We hadn't planned to be in Epcot on the 4th, but I can dream I'm with ya'll enjoying my favorite drink in The World! mmmmm!

We definitely should! Although I'm more into the Grey Goose lemonade slush! The Grand Marnier has a weird taste to me. We'll definitely going to have to make a plan when we get closer. Hopefully we can get a good group of us!

I have wanted to try the Grey Goose - but I love the orange, so I always do that one. I may have to experiment!

I agree - I think the crowds get worse in the 1-4pm time frame, so I think it is a great time for either lunch or a break. I love going in the evening - not that it is much cooler, but it helps!

If you change your plans you are welcome to join us!

Twinkle - I am sooo jealous.

I think if you are early morning people, then get to the parks early! I still think this is the best time. There are some good strategies, like at MK - try taking the train right away over to Frontierland - when you get off you are right in between Splash Mt and Big Thunder, it is easy to grab fastpasses for Splash and hop in line for Big Thunder. These both will get crowded early. If you want to ride Toy Story Mania - get fast passes early - even if they are for that evening you are close enough to go back to the hotel for the afternoon and return later in the day. I think 1-4 is a great time for Storm A Long Bay. I am pretty sure they have pool games during that time frame

It's good to know the pool time is a good call. We hit the parks at EMH and rope drop; we can't imagine getting there later. :thumbsup2 I love riding the train to Frontierland. I am concerned about when the 3-4 month closing of the train will take place.

Since I won't be there, I will have to look up a recipe in order to participate via PA.

Yes, yummy treats - right at a kiosk outside of Chefs De France, near the booth where they sell crepes. There are pictures of them over on the Dining Threads.

:scared1: What train closing????????

Sorry I haven't posted much since my dining plans! Been busy planning a few other things as I am the chosen planner this year for our family vacation! We recently changed to the cabins at Fort Wilderness because of the new discount! I am so excited!:woohoo: The cabins were our first choice, but wasn't affordable at the non-discounted price. Has anyone ever stayed there? Tell me all about if you have please!!!

Welcome Alicia!!

Our dates overlap so maybe we'll see each other in the lines!

We just did 1900 Park Fare in November and we were pleasantly surprised by how nice this was. My DD loved watching Cinderella and Prince Charming dance and she was also excited that this was her first "villians" encounter, too.

My DS is really excited about 1900 Park Fare, as the first time we went to Disney World in 2008 Cinderella gave him a kiss on the cheek! :cloud9: He has been in love with her since! We have the photpass picture I will have to dig up and post sometime!

Welcome! If you would like to post your exact dates I will add them to the list on page 21.

Ok, I see it is for your birthday - what day is it? My birthday is February 27th.

Well I have been so busy and just catching up on the thread I missed wishing you a Happy Birthday by a few days! So Happy Birthday! Hope you had an awesome day!

I will add you to the "who's going when" on page 21, but I need your exact dates. We are doing a split stay at the Contemporary and AS Sports!

We use the Coppertone - it is more like an aerosal spray and you do not need to rub it in afterwards. I always worry about sun screen getting in their eyes if they touch their eyes after rubbing on sun screen.

We are digging out from 21 inches - so I feel your pain. We lost power for 12 hours, it was getting really cold. We just got internet and TV back this morning!

:thumbsup2

We are from Missouri, so we get our fair share of snow storms, but had to travel to PA for a funeral and experienced this storm! I have never experienced anything like that! Though we did enjoy the time with spent with family since there was no elctricity! Especially since we lost Grandpa :sad1:

I changed your resort info on the list on page 43 - we have not stayed there yet. It is someplace I would like to try someday though.

Thank you very much! It was a rough birthday number-wise, but a great day.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. That must have been especially difficult. Not to be nosy - but were you in Pittsburgh? I went to a viewing for an elderly gentleman on the day the storm moved in. We have not had a storm like that in many years. I will be glad to see this winter over.

MMM hmmm! I think those are the only 2 at that kiosk, although my frosty beverage of choice is the margarita from mexico! :thumbsup2

I would LOVE to see that picture!

We were in South Park, PA. The viewing was on the day the storm moved in though.

We're staying at the Cabins, too! Love the discount!
We've never stayed there before, either. I think it sounds like a nice place to go back to after a *crazy* day in the parks!
Are you renting a golf cart?

I'm so sorry about your Grandpa!
I lost mine a couple of years ago - I still miss him!

Welcome! I know, can you believe this snow?! Thoughts of Florida in the summer is the only thing getting me through! We stayed at the Poly for our honeymoon last year. It was divine!

Welcome!! We'll be at POR too, although not at the same time. POR is the resort I've stayed at the most. I think you made a great choice for your first even onsite visit!!

If either of you have made ADRs, I'd be happy to add them to the master list on the top of pg. 7!

I have ADRs but not in July ... my first is August 4th:sad2:
