Okay, so I did it! I kept the CP ADR but the others are gone! I'm actually glad - I was wondering when I'd have time to try the Taingerine Cafe (sp?) that I've heard so much about at Epcot.
We'll see how it goes - I'm totally okay with living on turkey legs for 3 days if necessary... hey, how many times have I mentioned those "#(&@ turkey legs...

:rotfl2:

Wooo Hooo! How do you feel? Free? :rotfl: Like Wendy said, there are so many great CS options that even if you can't get into any TS places, you'll have plenty of variety.

There are plenty of decent CS out there to try. We liked the CS in France and Japan too. Another good one is Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavilion. We also liked Flame Tree BBQ at AK. Check out the menus at All Ears.net
I am sure you will be fine, you will have to let us know how it went when we all get back!

I was looking at Flame Tree - I love BBQ so that will be a good choice. I was also looking at the Picnic in the Park for AK.

I do feel free! I am really trying to keep the trip as "loose" as possible so I don't stress out about anything when I get there. With DD, the less pressure to "be somewhere", the better. Staying in the cabin is saving us $$ as well as morning stress for breakfast. DH is all about making bacon and eggs while I get DD up and moving.

I thought Picnic in the Park might have been discontinued - or maybe just for winter. Flame Tree was very good!

We had free dining one year and we hated being tied to ADRs (besides eating way too much!). I miss the days when every restaurant was a walk up. We still do not schedule too many ADRs and we have been very fortunate to get last minute reservations many times.

We gotta pin! We're switching from CBR to AKL July 17th thru July 25th! :dance3:

:cool1: Congratulations!!! I updated your info on page 29! It is such a great feeling when you can upgrade and feel like you got a great deal!

Thanks Tink and Nikki! We would've saved over $500 to stay with CBR but hey, if a Deluxe is a smidge more than why the heck not?! LOL The kids will LOVE the animals :thumbsup2 and I'm going to love locking myself out on the balcony when I'm trying to make them sleep :rotfl2:

I always have a rough time with the "save money vs upgrade and get a great deal". I ended up with the upgrade too this time. The cost at AKL and WL is so close to the moderates it is really hard not to take advantage! I am sure it will be well worth it!

Exactly! DH isn't convinced yet since AKL is on the outskirts of everything but I told him that if he wanted a central duluxe, he'd have to shell out a little more than our original reservation (pre-pin). We got a great tax refund but we have dependant IL's abroad that are tapping into my vacay money :sad2:

If you were at CBR, you would still have to take a bus everywhere. AND, that resort is so large that there is an internal bus too. We stayed there last summer - in a Pirate room, so we were as far away from the food court etc as you could get. We liked the resort, but it was a hassle to have to take a bus, or drive to the food court. In that respect, I think you will find AKL just as convenient, if not more. The traffic going over toward AKL is not as busy as over near CBR.

Here's a question -
Can I get the phone numbers to the actual TS restaurants somewhere?

I am making some super-awesome index cards - one for each park. On each one, I'm putting info for the top 3 counter service I'd like to try and the top 2 table service I'd like to try. That way, when we're out and about, we'll have a little better direction where to go.

SO, I was thinking if I could put the restaurant phone numbers on it, that might be handy. Like if we're out at Rafiki's at AK and we start thinking, "Hey, let's see if we can get into Tusker for lunch..." we could just call from there to see. If it's no, then we go with a something else, like Flame Tree.

What do you think?
Last time I actually made a reservation to eat at WDW was in 1999 for Christmas Dinner at Epcot (Italy). We actually called two days ahead to make the reservation - my, how times have changed...

I actually think that you would still call WDW-DINE in that situation. Say it's like 1:00 and you want to see if you can get into Tusker House, just call and see if you can get a reservation for like 15 mins later.

A friend of mine, on her last trip, wanted to eat in Mexico and when they went in, they said they didn't have room for lunch. So they walked outside, called WDW-DINE and got a reservation for 10 mins later!

The other option is to stop at Guest Services, they can set up ADRs for the same day, and it can be an ADR at a different park. We have also just done walk ups - we did that at the Biergarten last summer.

Hi all :cool1:
just booked again for me and DD 13th July for 10 nights at the Beach Club. Flights booked, free Disney dining and park tickets booked - cant wait!

:welcome: I have added you to the list on page 29 - looks like there will be other Dissers at the BC/BCV around the same time.
