*OFFICIAL* July 2010 Thread! It’s Hot. It’s Crowded. AND WE LOVE IT!

All excellent suggestions, Marshay!

Another tip I have is to make the best use of Fast Pass. Get them early for the rides you really want to see. Also, don't try to do it all...it's impossible, even on the least crowded days. Decide what attractions are most important and make them a priority. The rest will just be a bonus!

Oh, yeah, those FPs are a must!

DH and I are both doing the volunteering day even though we have annual passes. So we'll each get a special fast pass for up to 5 other people to use. I figure we'll use Jerry's for one park and mine for another (I assume they are FPs for multiple rides).

If the rest of my family doesn't join us, then we'll just grab some strangers and ask them to join us! Should be fun!

I completely agree! Plus it saves room for some snacking later in the day instead of trying to save your appetite so you don't spoil your dinner! :thumbsup2

Heck, we're making at least one of our meals -- ice cream!! Trying to go for dinner to Ghiradelli and another time to Beaches and Cream!:rotfl:

I think you missed me! I'll be at the Poly July 19-25.

Good luck with the wedding planning and grad school!

We are going July 3 -10, 2010 and staying @ POP Resort w/DxDP! Waiting for that 'special offer' to come out too!! :goodvibes

Just found this thread - was over on the OTHER July thread. Third July trip to WDW in four years. Will be staying at the Dolphin, tentatively, July 24-31, me, DW, DD2 DD5, BIL, SIL, and their son, 6.

Gotcha on the first page list too! Added a little comment to check page 10 for an updated list since most Disers might see the first page one first! :):cool1:

By the way Im dying to try the Dolphin! :cloud9:

December14Disney -- what? huh?

You switched to Disneyland??? What made you change coasts?

I do hope to get to DL someday ... but I'm afraid I'd be missing the other parks -- I LOVE, LOVE Epcot, esp!

I have added you on page 10 - I wish there was a way to merge lists - they are so much fun.

Hey,just wanted to say "thanks" for doing the list. Pretty nice of you!:goofy:

You are welcome! It is always so fun to see who is staying where.

Ice cream is a great meal - we do a Beaches and Cream ice cream meal at least once per trip!! It is a nice break, especially if you are hopping between Epcot and DHS - right on the way!!

DW is a curriculum coordinator, and BIL is maintenance head at a school, so the S/D have an amazing discount for School Employees. Like I said, though, still tentative. If they roll out a 4/3 like last year a moderate will slightly edge the S/D for our stay, and we will switch. Right now, though, that looks like home this year!

I did I did! :confused::scared1::eek:

We decided to switch our Honeymoon to a "California Tour" including san diego/la jolla/ del mar, san francisco...AND most importantly starting out with Disneyland!

We just wanted to do something different and Disneyland was it. Never ever been!

I know I'm not going to WDW but I'd still love to chat with you all since we go there so much and if you all would like ...give you guys some insight into planning a DLR trip. Its SO different already!

Question: is it just for school employees? Im in grad school working an assistantship but obviously not a perm. employee...would I be eligible for discount?

You guys we are going in March to WDW as well and I just scored a Beach Club Villas studio for the first part of it 1.5 months out thru DVC!

First time staying there...I'm so excited. I know its not July but...:cool1::cool1:

Tinkerbell60, you are so lucky to be going to the CR. I loved it last year!

This year it's OKW

Thanks Christy, I am excited. We are only there for 6 nights, then we are going to the All Stars for the next week. We stayed there back in 2005, before the remodel. I am really looking forward to it. I think the Contempo Cafe will be a lot more convenient, and we love the Wave. We are also doing a Chef Mickey dinner while we are there.

I will be anxious to hear about Old Key West. I hear it has a LOT of space. We almost considered buying a resale at DVC there, but did not. What size are you staying in?

I updated the list and will help do that as well. Did I tell you guys I changed my trip to DLR? Its crazy over there...ADRs only 60 days in advance!!!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I hope you are doing the restaurant that's part of the POC ride. Such a fun place to go! Ambience is the best. IMHO the only restaurant that compares to some of the places at the World. I'm sure you're already on top of it!!

Here are some of our ADRs. I'm sure some of them will change.... ;)
7/4 11:10, Sci-Fi; 7:40, Rose & Crown (may be cancelling)
7/6 10:45 Chef Micke's; 5:45 Flying Fish (for 2)
7/7 5:45 Coral Reef
7/8 8:00 Donald's Breakfast at Tusker; 7:25 Bomas

Thanks for the tips. I'm liking the idea of ice cream for dinner one night! :)

What kind of view are you getting?

We are getting a 1 bedroom villa

I'm on there, but we've moved our trip (for cheap airfares). WE'll be there June 29-July 7 at the Poly.

I have ADRs but have been playing with them. I'll post as soon as they are more final. Still waiting on the Poly IPO to book that Wishes cruise for the 4th, too. Keeping fingers and toes crossed for that one!

We are getting a tower, Bay Lake View. Last time we stayed there we were lucky enough to have a Magic Kingdom view, but that was before they were an extra charge. The kids actually suggested doing a Bay Lake View, and it is less expensive. I am just happy to be staying there.

All fixed!! Cheaper airfare is always key!!

oh, that all makes great sense! I forgot it was your honeymoon. How exciting and yes, I can't wait to hear more about DL...the whole, 'can only make ADRs 60 days out' is certainly not an East Coast thing!:lmao:

Yeah!! We love BCV and you are so lucky to get it only 1.5 months out...maybe it means 2010 won't be as busy this year as in years past...

My favorite things about BCV:
1) SAB pool complex -- take advantage of it and go often
2) walk into Epcot, boat to DHS
3) the salad at the Marketplace (not sure why but it's very good. You get to pick the ingredients.)
4) The Ariel statue
5) the sunroom -- a great place to grab a bite to eat on a cooler day or wait there on the comfy sofas to meet up with the rest of your group.

Ahhh, i  BLT!! I didn't think I would and now after we went in Nov, I sooooo wish we would have waited to purchase there. Oh, well! As long as we can get in at 7 months, that works for us.

We did a standard 1 BR and ended up with a view of the marina where you can take the little Water Sprites out. It was great! We could still watch the EWP at night and see the monorail go into the Contemporary.

I'm sure your lake view will be even nicer!

I cant wait until July!!!! My kids think I am nuts I am more excited than they are I have started planning our days for the trip. I have never done this before I have always just gone with no planning I think this is going to be much more fun.

Any trip planning advise for July let me know i could use it.

We will at least be getting used to the hot weather before we go because I am staying at a my aunts condo for the first week of vacation it is real close to the world doing sea world and taking our daughter to harry potter universal we have never been to universal before.

Well hope you all have a great day I am off to work to make money to pay for Disney lol.:yay:
