OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! The wait is on!!!

Hi everyone!

Ok first let me get the bad news out the way, which has put everyone in my vacation party in quite a low mood...
DBF's niece (4).. the littlest princess in our group, may not be allowed to come on holiday with us
there's a lot of bad-feelings between the niece's mom and dad (they are separated... he now dates DBF's older sister, they've been together over three years tho!)
he has every right to take his daughter on holiday, but her mom has said she won't allow it ?!?! this vacation was booked in January why couldn't she have said then that she didn't want us to take her daughter on vacation? not waited til we have less than 3 weeks to go and everything is paid for!
unfortunately it looks like they might have to get a family lawyer involved..

so please send us some pixie dust!! i'm trying to stay positive and hope that they can work this out..

keeping the BBB appointment booked for now too, i was sooo excited about taking her there ! and giving her a gorgeous little Cinderella dress the night before we fly to Orlando ... ohhhh it's so not fair!!

Ok ok.. on to the GOOD news...

a) It's 17 DAYS to go now

b) our plane tickets, luggage tags etc arrived from Virgin Holidays at the weekend (that's as close to Mickey Mail as we'll get )

and if the worst does happen, and we can't take DN on vacation, i hope the 7 of us will still have a magical time

Add me to the list of "messing with ADRs" Nikki - don't kill me! We had to move stuff around so DH could see the shuttle launch, plus he (the one that had no input before) wanted the girls to see MIckey when we get there. So, take off July 11th Ohana 6:50, add July 11th Chef Mickey 5:10, take off July 14th HDDR 5pm, add July 14th Narcoosee's 5:55, take off July 17th Narcoosees, add Ohana 8:30. I am going to keep trying for an earlier time on that one, but at least it's on the books.

I booked a wishes cruise today as a surprise to them! Now I just have to figure out how to get them to the Poly marina at 9. I may just have to beg to see the EWP at Poly beach, which was originally on my "first night must do list". So I am guess after CM, we'll go out to watch the shuttle launch at 7:40, hop on the monorail for a few trips around, show the girls Epcot, etc., then go back to the Poly.... HOpe that works.....

Well sadly by waiting until 3 weeks before you leave to refuse to let her daughter go - she has placed herself in a greater position of power because now there is precious little time for any legal action - I feel sad for DBF's niece because I'm sure she was so excited to be going and now her little dreams are dashes so that "mom' can hurt "dad".

It is unseasonably hot here in FL right now. I mean, yes, its Florida (and I grew up here) and it is hot in the summer, but we are hitting heat indexes of 3 digits in the panhandle where I am, which is unusual even for this time of year. I'm hoping for a cold snap, lol.

We plan to go back to our hotel for several hours in the afternoons while my daughter naps. We'll swim and let her sleep and return to the parks for dinner. With the PM EMHs, that's the way to go!

I noticed that you live in the panhandle too. We live in Niceville about 15 minutes from Destin. And yes it has been extremely hot. Our air conditioner runs and runs.. When I take my DS 1 outside his face turns red within 10 minutes. I am so worried it is going to be too hot for him. My other children are older and will be able to handle it. We bought some misting fan bottles and our hoping they will help. We are also planning on going back to POP after lunch and let the older children swim while little man takes a nap, then head back to the parks or dinner ADRs. We shall see how are schedule works out.

We are near the panhandle of Florida. 5 minutes from the state line to be exact and it's been HOT! I'm hoping for low crowds because of that. We can handle it - we're used to the humidity.

It's usually about 30 days out. If you booked room only rather than a package, and you are not using Magical Express, you shouldn't receive anything in the mail.

ALso did you book direct or use a Travel Agent. SOmetimes the package goes to the travel agent, so if you have a TA check with the agency.

Lastly I see you're in Canada. Maybe the mail takes a bit longer. I'm in NY and when I send things to Ontario it takes over a week!

I'm sorry to hear about this. It's wrong when it is the children that get hurt. We go through this to see my stepdaughter. Luckily she is now 16 and a little harder for Mom to say no. But, she is coming to see us and stay at our house for the first time since she was 3 this coming July. Her Mother actually had it written into the custody agreement that she would take her to WDW before we could. Never really became an issue, we just thought it was kind of crazy.

Is there a third party that can get involved? My stepdaughters Grandmother, the mother's mother, is our third party and voice of reason a lot of times. If not for her we probably would not get to see her as often as we do or hear about her accomplishments.
