Im Katie! My fiance and I aren't going in July until July 18th-28th 2010 but I was hoping to lurk around the thread and be in company of people who dont nearly tear my head off when I say I am going to Disney in July! If I hear one more "personally I would NEVER go in July" comment....

anyway, for those "personally I would never go in July" people I just say "too bad, I was going to invite you for free". hahha

Uggg! Isn't that annoying?!?!? I get that alot too when I say we are going in July. *btw, we'll be there at the same time. You will be there before us though..lol* But when they say something like "Why are you going then? It's gonna be so hot!" I just tell them "Yeah, well, the Navy doesn't give us much choice and that's when his leave will be." lmao!! Shuts them up real quick.

We are going this July also. Sometimes you just have to go when you can, or in our case we are going because my bestfriend is going to be there from Texas in July. Our first trip was the week of July 4th two years ago and we survived just fine. Actually, we just spent a few days there the week after Christmas and the lines were horrible. After that, I'm looking forward to July!

Please join in and share our fun with us. Have you thought about begining a thread for your trip. Might not be real active for awhile but I am sure you are not the only one thinking of going in 2010. I am already planing my 2011 trip.

As for everyone who says they would not go in July, I too would never go in July but I want to take my grandkids and this was when I could get permission to take them. If it wasn't for that I would go in September/October (no lines but still pretty HOT). My concerns is the number of people. But I am trusting that it will be OK. When people ask about the heat I tell them to drink lots of water. Not juice or soda but water and I tell them about the spray bottles with the fans. There are ways to cope. In fact, it is this thread that has helped me to relax about going in July.

So what am I doing so as not to worry about time we will wait in line? I convinced Janet to extend our trip from 6 to 8 full days at the parks. So now we have 2 full days in each park if we want it. We also did the park hopper to allow my freedom of movement.

158 days and still counting before we leave for our magical place!!!

I get that too..."you're going to FLORIDA in JULY?" People think we're crazy. But hubby teaches, and gets the whole month of July off, so that is when we can go. We have a good plan, and I think we'll be just fine. I'd rather be going in July than not going at all!

I agree. We go before Christmas...but it seems that its getting more crowded every year!

We have gone twice in July. You'll be fine as long as you take breaks in the afternoon and have a good touring plan!

well, I hope the day is as good to you as it has been to my parents - 43 years and counting.

you have to remember to use the "free" line with the right tone of sarcasm "oh...that's too bad...I was going to invite you for free". after they've just announced that they'd NEVER go to Disney in July. hahaha. It works every time.

Personally, the summer is my favorite time to go to Disney. Maybe because as kids that's when we went (my dad was also a teacher) so I just equate disney with July. Dh and I went a bunch in the fall before kids but really, I still think disney and I think summer.

I just booked our airfare!!! It was a lot more money than I thought it would be, but I'm just happy we got the flights I wanted. We are taking a 6:15 am flight so we arrive in orlando around 8:30 which is awesome!

I'm glad you got the flights you wanted. I love getting there early the day of arrival, then you don't feel like you have missed a day. Plus, you will miss those afternoon storms that cause delays.

I'm very excited about getting there so early! We won't have park tickets for the first day, but I just want to relax and maybe go to DTD and then have a nice dinner.
However, the flight on our way home is 5pm so I am worried about those afternoon storms and having a delay.

HAHA! Well, we've been together for 6 years and have lived together for 4 of those. We've been an old married couple for a while now. Believe me, there will be plenty of sleep!

NO NO NO....when dh and I had our disneymoon there was no sleep involved - and we had been together for a while as well, living together too. It's just different. that's all I can say. It's just different.
