Has anyone ever purchased trip insurance for your WDW trips? DH asked me about that at dinner last night...there has been SO much rain down here in the south so far this summer -- he's wondering about hurricanes, flooding, etc. (We've lived here for 9 years and have never seen this much rain so early in one summer...it's been kind of crazy).

How much does the insurance cost, and is it too late for me to buy it? I don't think we need it, but DH wants me to look into it.

My husband & I decided that we would purchase the trip insurance. We are Floridians and know how unpredictable the weather is including hurricanes :scared1:. As much as we have spent on this trip thus far, I can not imagine losing or wasting our hard earned $$$ due to weather or sickness, etc. We went through our TA to get it. If I remember correctly it was about $67 per adult. We had to secure the insurance prior to our final payment. So, if you have already made your final payment to WDW, it might be too late. But, it doesn't hurt to inquire about it. Good luck in your decision. :upsidedow

It is cancer, and he will have to have his one remaining kidney removed, and be on dialysis for the remainder of his life, which I hope gives him time to watch his grandkids grow up. He will have to be in the hospital for a week, and he told the dr. that he couldn't do it until after July 19th (when we get back). Daddy told me yesterday that the only way he was going to let his babies miss Disney World is for his funeral, and he's not planning on that happening anytime soon.

Also, we are in a time of great sorrow in my community. One of our recently graduated seniors was killed Saturday in a wreck returning from Sr. Beach week. He was a great kid, very active in lots of things with a bright future, I remember him when he was at the elementary school I teach at and he was a true joy even then. His mom is a friend, and I can't imagine her pain......

:grouphug:
So sorry to hear it is cancer, but I'm glad he's being so strong! My mom's a survivor and according to her the patient's attitude makes up half of their recovery. All the best to you and your family!

Hi Guys, Is it okay if I join in? I'm Karen, my DH is Keven and I have a DD9 and a DS11. I'm really far behind so I don't really know any of you. Don't think I can manage to find time to read 175 pages :scared1: but hopefully I will get to know some of you before our trip.

This is our first family trip to WDW and we will be staying at POP July 13th through 20th. feel free to say hi to us if you see us. :cutie:

Welcome to the thread.

Photopass reminder for everyone!!

Today is the last day you can pre-order PhotoPass CDs and/or books with the 15% discount code "9VISARD15" using this link: http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx

Disney also announced a price increase for the CD starting tomorrow, so today's your last chance to get this bargain!

What is the cost with this discount? I want to do this, but may have to wait until I get paid.. :sad2:

Welcome Meanmom121!

If you have ADRs booked, feel free to post them on here... there is a great list being compiled so we can see if any fellow DISers will be eating at the same restaurants as you! :cutie:

I have just 24 DAYS to go!!! i'm getting so excited that I can barely concentrate at work already, I keep day-dreaming about wdw!! :rotfl: only 15.5 days at the office to go tho!

:yay:

HicksWDW... the pre-purchase cd costs $99 without discount ($125 if purchased after your trip), so with that Visa discount its $85 + tax ?
I believe that from tomorrow, the regular priced cd will go up to $149.. so guessing that the pre-purchase price will go up too!

I already bought one a few weeks ago, no discount code unfortunately! but glad it's ordered.... another surprise to give to the family on our Celebration Vacation!!

We got trip insurance this time. This is my first time to every purchase it so I don't really have any knowledge to share with you. But my luck There will be a hurricane or something worse and I can't afford to lose all that money.

Just a little history though - my brother went to WDW for his honeymoon. a had booked a package deal through an airline - while they were in the air, the airlines declared bankruptcy and when they landed they had nothing -
no hotel, no car, no WDW tickets. My parents had to wire them money. They didn't even have a way to get home. Trip insurance may have been able to recoop some of that money for them - As it was got back $15.00 in the settlement from the thousands they lost.

I feel a little better off because we booked everthing through Disney - but just in case

She is a total non-Diser. Wanted no part of the planning. She went with her brother and his family, mom, and sister. SIL is a DIS, my bff told her to make all the plans. Well, she said it was so hard getting all 11 of them in one direction that they decided to split up. BFF had no plans, and felt like they wasted a lot of time. THANKS DIS! Her tips for me were - have a plan, be ready for the heat, know you'll have to walk a lot, and buy a misting fan!!!!

Welcome!! I added your ADRs to the list on the top of page 67! :thumbsup2

Okay, I'm going to get this picture party started. Then I'm going to try to get the top of a page to mark as our official "Let's See You" post so we have a better idea of who to look for. Try to post a clear, close-up pic of what you actually look like when you are in the parks. If you want to post your pic, just make it a thumbnail and add your dates and resort and I will try to take it from there....

So here's me and future DH. Poly 7/19-7/25.

Cosmicgirl, thank you for the info on Coronado! We are very excited to go there! I preordered my photopass cd as well! We are heading to Magic Kingdom on the 4th, how about you guys?

I am sorry to hear about your father. It sounds like he's a fighter which is really good.
I am also sorry to hear about the senior. That's just way too young. It's always sad when someone dies, but when it's a child/kid, it just seems more unfair. It sounds like he really impacted a lot lives.
