OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! (Part 2) It's here!!

I received an automated call from the superintendent's office asking me to vote on three possible days off. The message said that we will receive an e-mail next week on which days were chosen. I am pretty sure that we will be getting at least one extra day of summer vacation.

At least you got to vote on when the days were -- we found out about the furlough when we got back from vacation (two days before DH was supposed to report back to work). The next furlough day for our district is October 12. Of course our MNSSHP tickets for October 9 don't coincide with that...I tried to talk DH into staying longer than two days, but since we're going away for Christmas this year he said no. LOL I'm actually amazed that I was able to easily talk him into the girls and I going to WDW again in October with my parents! I think he agreed because my parents are going -- LOL -- he can't say no to them!

I have a back 2 back cruise with DCL planned for October / November 2010. After that I am going to save my money so I can do 21 day in the fall of 2012 to celebrate my 25th anniverary. I want to do 14 dys on a DCL ship, maybe one of the new ones and a week at WDW for this celebration. It is matter of funds not desire by any means. I could do a samer trip every year or I can do a larger longer vacation. Only time will tell if I can hold out. Lois

Cruises sound wonderful! So does a 21 day trip!

Gotta use up those Annual Passes! We have a mini trip planned for October then probably a week in June when school gets out. Once the APs run out, it's back to end of August trips for us!! This July trip was mainly because of the wedding date. After the tour groups we encountered (not just crowds, I can handle crowds...but GROUPS) I would rather do August heat than July group crowds!!

When in October are you going?

yOU'RE KIDDING ?! When do they get out - or do they have a lot more breaks during the school year?

We got out on May 29 this year. For 2009-2010, the kids will be out one week for Thanksgiving, two weeks plus two days for Christmas, one week in February, one week for spring break at the end of March/beginning of April, and then the school year ends on May 26.

It's crazy to go back to school this early.

I think that my husband would leave me if I suggested another vacation to Disney next summer. :lmao: We have visited three times in the last year. We are going to the Smoky Mountains during Christmas and somewhere else in the summer. It will be a few years before we get back to WDW.:sad2:

We're going to the mountains in Georgia for Christmas this year -- my entire immediate family will be together for Christmas for the first time in years. I would have loved to have gone to MVMCP, but I guess I'll try to talk DH into that for next year...or the year after...

I posted a bunch of pictures from the first half of our trip on my Facebook page.

Love the pics!

I totally understand - a 14 day cruise will be amazing!! DH and I love cruising and we just returned from a much too short 3 day cruise on Carnival. Next year we will be off to Alaska; I wish Disney would go to Alaska as the Magic was far superior to RCCL, NCL and Carnival. And, by the time you go, maybe my younger DD will be dancing on your ship!
Her dream is to dance for Disney on one of the ships; she has danced for years and has danced professionally so hopefully her dream will come true. :wizard:

:thumbsup2
just looked through your photos from days 1-4 on facebook Tom... they are amazing! your son is too cute, he looks so happy... you all do! :cutie:

looking at photos makes me want (need!) to go back to wdw even more!

Emma princess: x

Great pictures Tom! I didn't see Jimney Cricket anywhere-you're lucky you found him!

Jiminy can be found at Animal Kingdom at the Conservation Station (or whatever its called). You have to take the train.

There you will find Jiminy Cricket, Rafiki and Pocahontas.

Hey All!!
We have been back for about a week but I am just now getting my computer to work correctly again so I can post my report.
We had a great time and loved our resort, Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. Unfortunately, I don't have time to write more right now but I will. I need a brief reminder on posting pics here - can someone give me a brief lesson??
Hope you are all Well and Wonderful!! --Renee

After the tour groups we encountered (not just crowds, I can handle crowds...but GROUPS) I would rather do August heat than July group crowds!!

Hopefully we will all meet again on another thread someday in the future!! But for now, we have to keep this thread going with our memories of our trips and read each other's trip reports!!

Funny you said that....a few days after I met you and Tom my son was soooo over the tour groups. He told me I needed to find you guys again and we could walk around carrying a green flag that said "Dis" on it so all the other DISers could find us and join in to our own clapping and chanting! :lmao: We really should have planned that ahead of time!
No more July's for us either, I am thinking December 2011. That is as soon as I can get away with without my dh killing me in my sleep. He says he "needs" a beach vacation next. :confused3

THAT would have been hilarious!!! "DIS-BOARDS! DIS-BOARDS! DIS-BOARDS!"

Yes!!!!! I want our own tour group! lol

Let me share a joke from Matthew, our Keys to the Kingdom Tour guide.

Why are they called "Brazillian tour groups"? Because there is a Brazillion of them!

Help -- I need technical support!

I started my TR -- but how do I link to it in my signature? (Yeah, I'm hopelessly technologically challenged.)

OK, I think I figured it out. I started my TR and linked to it in my signature...I hope it works! No pictures yet, but I promise to have some.

I never claimed to be an entertaining writer, but I hope you enjoy it anyway!

Going over right now!

Yep, Brad called it the Week of a Bazilion Brazilians!! Started to title that in my TR, but knew some flaming would start!

I agree, Tom, start on those shirts, and Mindy can make us a flag! Viva Disboards! At one point, DH Brad, held up the scarf I had tied on Sophie's stroller for visibility and yelled "Just started my own tour group, anyone that wants to jump to the front of the line, push behind me" That was while we were waiting for Fantasmic gates to open. I was SOOOOO embarassed,:headache: but hey, he made it until Thursday!
