***Official January 2025 Thread***

Can you add me!? Traveling with my mom (80!) and I'm not sure who is more excited! :sunny:

I'm low on DVC points, so we're staying at the Swan (new for both of us) Jan 22-28.

Hotel and airfares booked. Now need to look at tickets. Are there any ticket deals out there currently? I haven't looked yet.

Happy to be part of this group!
Yay! You've been added!

No deals from Disney yet. Hopefully, sometime in September!

After Hours event dates have been announced for January. None for Epcot or AK for this month.

MK: January 6, 13, 20 and 27
HS: January 22 and 29
Looks like they’re bookable on the 4th. I’m torn because I’d like to do either HS or MK after hours but the MK ones are on my two Epcot extended evening hours nights and the HS ones on one of my MK extended evening hour nights. So do I miss an Epcot EEH (I’d still have another one) to do the MK AH or do I miss a MK AH (I’d still have another one too) to do HS AH? I love the EEH and I’d prefer to not miss any but I’ve always wanted to do an AH. I love MK and I’d like to get as much semi empty park time there as possible, so I’m leaning towards missing an Epcot EEh. I wish these weren’t on the EEH nights ugh.

What's with making them the same nights as EEH? 🤔 Is it always like that?

I'd also love to do AH but EEH was one of the major deciding factors to go deluxe so I'm not really willing to give that up for something I have to pay extra for!

Ooh, thanks for posting!

This is tricky. First, I don't believe official Extended Evening Hours have been posted for January 2025 yet. So, you could either buy After Hours tickets based on previous year's EEH dates (which could change), or you could wait to purchase AH until EEH hours are released (which means AH tickets could sell out in the meantime).

For January 2024, it looks like After Hours tickets did not sell out. However, some did in 2023.

If you would like to maximize your MK time, then I would also lean towards missing an Epcot EEH. However, please consider which scenario might be more upsetting to you--i.e., purchasing AH before EEH hours are released and possibly not liking your selection after EEH hours are posted, or waiting to purchase AH until EEH hours are released and possibly having AH nights sell out beforehand. Both scenarios might be unlikely, but just something to think about.

If they keep the same pattern as last year, then yes, it seems these events may occur on the same nights.

On Mondays in January 2024, MK had After Hours and Epcot had Extended Evening Hours. On Wednesdays, HS had After Hours and MK had Extended Evening Hours.

So, definitely take full advantage of your EEH!

Disney has announced some Canadian resident ticket and room discounts for 2025 that will be released on September 10th. Hopefully that means some general discounts are on the horizon too.

I am booked at CBR so I am really hoping they announce the skyliner closure dates before the discounts are available. I can't really make a good choice on whether or not to switch resorts for a good discount without knowing if the skyliner will be closed for my dates.

Interesting. The recently announced After Hours are also bookable by the public on September 10th. It seems like they are finally gearing up to start releasing more information and deals for January and beyond.

It looks like the skyliner closure was announced late October last year. However, for every prior year, the closure would have already been announced by now. Oh, Disney...making us make decisions without having all the information they already have! :thumbsup2

Alright, we are finally rounding the corner to our vacations! Summer is wrapping up and fall is in our sights!

Anything else??

Construction of The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk is finally nearing completion as crews have finished installing roofing and walls.

The Cake Bake Shop was originally scheduled to open in 2023. It’s now scheduled to open this year.

EEH (extended evening hours) are when the parks (usually MK on Wednesday and Epcot on Monday, though this changes during holidays) stay open for 2 hours after park close for deluxe or DVC resort guests. Its free. AH (after hours) are a PAID event where you get 3 hours in the parks after close. Both have fewer guests than a typical day although AH has fewer and includes “free” snacks and drinks.

Ah, okay. Thanks. I remember EEH during our trip this past January. I saw people with wrist bands. Is that what we need to participate? How do you get them exactly?

I haven’t been to EEH since November 2022 but I didn’t need a wristband then; just had to scan my magic band before every ride which confirmed to the cast members I was eligible to be there. Not sure if things have changed?
