***Official January 2025 Thread***

FYI. Discounts are now live for stays from October 6 to December 25.

Guests can receive up to 30% off Disney resort prices, plus receive free park hopper for tickets of 4 days or more.

I still haven't booked my room yet because I was trying to decide if I just wanted to stay at Pop or do a split stay at AKL and Pop or just AKL. I had almost talked myself into just doing Pop but now I am wondering if I should do a split stay so I can take advantage of extended hours for Deluxe guests in Magic Kingdom. Ugh!!!! The decisions.
We love split stays! However, if you are still looking at the last week of January, there are some things to consider.

As the previous poster mentioned, the Skyliner may be down for maintenance (historically, it looks like the first part of your trip may have the highest chance of being impacted).

Also, as you probably know, Extended Evening Hours for Magic Kingdom are generally on Wednesday. Since this would be in the middle of your trip, a split stay might make things tricky. You would have to carefully plan check-in and check-out activity to qualify for the deluxe benefit.

Unfortunately, we are too far out for any concrete information about maintenance schedules or extended hours for January 2025. It makes it so hard to plan and commit!

Depending on how many people are going, maybe just do an AH one night and stay at Pop. Maybe cheaper. Also, not sure when you’re going but the skyliner is usually down for a week each January. I think they typically release the week in October. Either choice I’m sure you’ll have a great trip!

Yeah my split stay would be Pop on Monday and Tuesday nights and I would check into AKL on Wednesday so I would be able to do the extra hours. I had already planned around that with hopes they wouldn't change the days. I have in a request to rent dvc points for AKL but waiting to hear on availability. I would stay there the whole time but it isn't available on Monday and Tuesday night. It's actually 50 dollars cheaper for me to do a split stay renting points than it is doing all pop. While I love the convenience of the skyliner, it isn't a deal breaker for me.

I'm glad that the Genie+ changes are being implemented soon so hopefully they have sorted out any issues (and we will have lots of information about how things work) by January!

I am anxiously waiting for the announcement of the skyline maintenance closure dates. I'm booked at CBR and I know there's a chance the skyliner will be closed for part of my trip. I'd be fine with a few days, but anything more than that and I'll be looking to switch resorts.

Well I changed my dates. I am moving to February so I can get the room I want through renting dvc points.February is the month I've went the last two years and love it, but thought I'd try January this time. Unfortunately it didn't work out. I'll see some of you with overlapping vacations over on the February thread I am going to start.

Thanks for letting us know! At least February is not that much longer of a wait. Best wishes for a great vacation!!

Hi All!

I have a reservation at Shades of Green from 13-18 January, 2025.

This is a bittersweet trip for me, my oldest daughter and I will be going for her long-awaited "Drink Around the World!" in honor of her 21st birthday... she was 3 the first time we went 😢 and we have been back twice when she was 8 and 13 on family trips with her little sister...

So it's going to be a *VERY* different trip than ever before, and I am almost ambivalent about planning it, how weird is that? I think I'll probably cry at some point, just because my baby is all grown up... And a complication-- she wants to bring along her bestie... and that's fine, but he is probably going to cancel at the last minute, so I am planning both ways...

Things we definitely want to to do:
-that fish tank restaurant
- a whole day at MK (Haunted Mansion is my favorite.)
- Galaxy's Edge
- and, of course, the drinking at Epcot, which we will probably split into two days with Park hopping so nobody gets over-boozed... she is a tiny little thing, and we are planning on ordering single drinks and splitting them...

But we will be without a rental car and (sort of) on-property, which is different from our previous "condo and rental car" arrangements... but I'm still looking to save a bit on breakfasts and snacks by packing things along. And she has some sensory/physical issues, so we will be looking into what accommodations are like these days.

We are not doing a lot of ADRS and strict planning, more play-by-ear... which is a huge departure from our previous trips!

We are going Jan 1-7. Staying at BRV. This was a surprise trip that we weren't expecting to take. It kind of fell in our lap. Interestingly, the first time I stayed at WL was for my honeymoon in January 2015. So it'll be our 10 yr anniversary! Kind of cool 😎 Our wedding was actually in the fall, and a few years ago we celebrated our wedding anniversary at Galaxy's Edge by building lightsabers together. This time we plan to build droids with our son ☺️
