Now that more free dining dates have opened up in December of 2012, I am wondering when (if any) dates will open up for January 2013? I am soooo hoping that there will be free dining in January! Fingers crossed

I would be surprised if they don't offer FD in January 2013. Just be patient for the dates to open up

We moved our trip up a week, so now we are going at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb. Guess that makes me a part of this group too!!

Our dates are Jan 26-28 at Universal and Jan 28-Feb. 7 at POFQ.




I noticed a post above saying that the EMH are out for Jan. Where can I find this??

Please add me to the list! We're going to be at Art of Animation in a Lion King suite from Jan. 11-19. My birthday is Jan. 13 and I'm running my first half-marathon on the 12th! I'm OVER. THE. MOON excited!!!!

We are planning to be in WDW Jan 26-Feb 1. I am so super excited!! We are coming up on ADRs next week so I too have been thinking about our schedule for which park for which day. Do people tend to schedule to be at the parks that have EMH or not? I have heard some people say that those are the parks to avoid due to high crowds and others say to take advantage of EMH. What do you think? Thanks for all your help!!

If we can get up early, we like to do EMH in the morning. We love to do EMH in January b/c it's really not that late (we have small kids and they generally can still stay up for them).

Today is our 180 mark and I wanted to go online this morning to book our ADR's but the system wasn't letting me so I called and got all my choices!! yay!! That definitely makes our trip feel more real. Can't wait to take DD to eat in the castle and get her first haircut on Main Street

Eating in the castle is wonderful! We loved both the times we ate there. And my daughters practically only get their hair cut at Disney, including their first hair cut.

Can't wait to hear all about the birthday trip. Will you be doing a TR?

I keep calling to ask. I just came back from July trip and was hoping to use a Bounceback code, too. But the BB offers are only through mid-December. Right now there is no discount for January except AAA.

Now that I booked already, I doubt I'll get a pin code ... but I'll still be calling to see and building a trip on disney's web site.

FYI -- after taking the free tour of the AoA resort while I was in WDW in July, it definitely sealed the deal for me. We are staying at AoA and I requested the Lion King suite, since they will be the newest suite and it will have the Elephant Boneyard playground.

If it's cooler, I figure we'll be spending time there.

If it's warmer, we'll be in between the Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo pools.

Now I'm hoping for either Free Dining or a pin code.

I posted this on the other January 2013 thread, but I'm going to post it here as well to try and get other opinions.....

Well I got distracted while knitting and watching a Disney Parks video on Netflix. I was watching it and thinking about what a great idea it is to do a Key to the Kingdom tour on my actual bday. Well I messed up and am having to start all over again. I could keep going with it, but I'm WAY to OCD to leave a mistake this obvious. Anyway, I'm trying to decide between two different pattern on the MH themselves and was wanting to get some other opinions. Which do y'all think would look more like a MH, the 1st or the 2nd one?

Hi everyone! We're booked for Bay Lake Tower for January 27-February 3.

We just arrived home and caught a unit with our RCI ongoing search. Disney Military Tips leaked that military ticket promotions were going to continue (just a little more $$), and DH said to book it!

We just finished a 12 night stay between Beach Club Villas and Hilton Grand Vacation Club on I-Drive with our DS who turned one on the trip and our DD who is 4 1/2.

After reading complaints about ride closures, tour groups, and weather, now I am a littler nervous. We're going to leave on my daughter's 5th birthday and I hope this is a magical trip. It will be at least a year before we are able to go again.

I'd love to join the facebook group, but don't know how to find you.

Thanks for the input on EMH! I am looking forward to seeing how January will be like! We have been in late May and late September, so this will definitely be a change in weather!!

POFQ is really great! I like how you can use the pool at POR, too and the boat to DTD. It doesn't seem as spread out as POR either. But I like trying a new resort each time we go. So far I've done every resort except Grand Floridian, Ft. Wilderness Cabins/Caming and AoA, and will be doing AoA in Jan.

When we went this year in January we lucked out and had wonderful weather. But the week before was much cooler/cold. The big difference with January is that you need to dress in layers and/or take a light jacket with you for mornings and evenings. Once the sun goes down around 5-6Pm or so, it starts to get really cool.

Also packing for a January trip means you really don't pack until about 3-4 days prior. (I usually start packing about 30 days prior normally). You really need to know what the weather is going to be like....and even then it can change so you pack a bit of everything...easy to do if you are driving/Autotrain and much harder if you are flying.

We are staying in LM rooms @ AoA

Yeah! We debated about 2 LM rooms or one suite. But when I asked on the tour about having connecting rooms, they said they cannot guarantee that at all and in fact it's possible that we would have rooms in two different buildings.

Now whether the tour guide just said that to scare me into upgrading to a suite or whether that is just the official line and 99% of the time you can get connecting rooms, I don't know.

But DH said he didn't want to take the chance.

That's how we feel, too. I'm a "planner", but not to that extent.

We used to plan one TS a day but since they started charging for no-shows at CM/Sig Dining, we stopped doing that. Now we make ADRs every 2 to 3 days since I still like to take the time to sit down and be served at a meal. It's a nice break.

Welcome! BLT is a great resort!! We stayed there once and are doing 2 nights again in January.

January can be unpredictable but when we went this year, we had a blast. It actually was so much better than going in May or July (only November beat it b/c of all the Xmas decorations).

Just know that some water rides will be closed and others will be down for maintenance...but there is still tons of things to do and new Fantasyland will be opened!!!
