I ran my first marathon yesterday, and after swearing that I was going to drop out of every other marathon I've signed up for while I was suffering through the final miles, I decided on a compromise. The race I ran was constant hills, and that really took a toll on my legs, especially since I didn't train hills like I should have. I'm thinking the total elevation change at Disney is about the same as one or two of the hills I ran yesterday, so instead of swearing off marathons forever, I'm going to save any marathon runs for Disney. If I'm going to suffer through the final miles of a marathon I might as well do it at my happy place. I'm actually anxious for January now so I can see how different this marathon is compared the what I ran.
