We just got back. Weather was a mixed bag -- a couple of warm days, a few pretty darn cold days, another couple of warm days, and a couple of hot days at the end. No rain.
Crowds were higher than we've ever seen in late January and early February. At first I thought it was because we arrived over MLK weekend, but then they didn't leave, LOL. I think this week seemed a little less crowded than last week, but not much. It was still more crowded than we're used to.
The Fantasmic cutbacks are crazy. We went last Thursday and used the dinner package. They opened the reserved area 35 minutes prior to show time. I'll bet there were some angry dinner package guests who arrived late and didn't get a seat. Our server told us to be there 45 minutes prior to showtime. The entry ticket said 45-90 minutes prior. They weren't kidding. We got there at 60 minutes prior and the reserved sections had barely anyone in them. At 35 minutes prior they were still less than half full, then they opened them to everyone and they filled very quickly -- there weren't any other seats available at that point as far as I could tell. As long as Fantasmic is shown only twice per week we won't ever see it again, even with the package. We'll either wait until they show it more often or we'll never see it again.
I was disappointed that the new decorations weren't up. I don't mind the parks being plain, if there was no new celebration. But there is one, they just didn't bother to get things up for us January guests. I felt somewhat slighted as far as that goes, like we weren't important enough.
