Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

I've got two more questions:

What is the estimated wait & travel time for a bus from AK to Epcot?

And

What would be the quickest way to get from the BWB to Pop? Going to Epcot means entering through IGW & walking to the front of the park so boating to HS then bus to Pop is what I'd assume? I know it's not far away between the two resorts but I don't know if walking from BWI to Pop would be feasible at all.

Wait times can be up to 20+ mins....they usually are't that long, but they can be. And it always seem to take forever if I'm in a hurry!! Once you're on the bus to Epcot, it should take about 15 mins.

The fastest way from BW to Pop is a cab. It is under 10 mins to drive there. The cost is usually around $10 plus tip for a cab. Otherwise, walk to DHS and then take the bus to Pop from there.
You really can't walk to Pop from BW. Travel is on two pretty busy road ways.

where do the boats go to from Epcot?
Where do they go from DHS?
Where do they go from DTD?

We are staying at BWI and I was wondering if we could get to DTD by boat?
Where else could we ride the boats to? Thanks

Boats from Epcot go to DHS and the Epcot resorts (BC, YC, BWI, Swan and Dolphin).

Boats from DHS go to Epcot and the Epcot resorts.

Boats from DTD go to OKW, SSR, POFQ and POR.

The only way to go from BWI to DTD is bus.

There's also boats between MK, GF and Poly and between CR, WL and FW.

I've also wondered about the boats from DTD to the resorts. So, one boat stops at all of those resorts like the Friendship boats do? How long does it take from POFQ to DTD?

Ok, thanks. :goodvibes My check in day usually starts out at AK then over to Epcot for the evening. But I generally stay offsite & drive. I remember once just before leaving AK, I took a photo of something in the Dinosaur attraction gift shop & the next one was in WS when I got my 1st margarita from Mexico. I didn't stop anywhere from AK to Epcot & parked close enough to walk to/from my car at both parks. I was surprised to see the time between the photos to be just over one hour difference! I just thought that driving would've never taken that long to go from one park to the next b/c I've always heard the quickest way around on property is to drive yourself.

It looks like even if I have to wait a bit for a bus, it might take a little less time using Disney transportation. :)

And I would definitely go from BWI to HS & take the bus instead of a cab. Every penny counts on my vacation & I don't mind a nice boat ride or walk on the water.

No, there's one for OKW/SSR and one for POR/POFQ. I think it's about a 20 minutes trip for POR/POFQ.

What is the easiest/fastest way from Shades of Green/Poly to the Boardwalk?? We do have a car that we can use of needed.

We are staying at POR in June for 4 nights and last time we stayed, the DTD refurb wasn't in full swing. What is the boat situation there now? One of the main reasons we stay at POR/POFQ is the boat to the Marketplace side for shopping but I feel like I read somewhere that the boat ramp at Marketplace is closed. Is there only one other boat ramp and where is it? We have only ever gone to the Marketplace. Are we better off driving and parking at the marketplace or are those lots closed?

The dock at the Marketplace is closed, but boats are using the Pleasure Island dock instead; I don't know exactly where the dock is though. From what I've read, driving is not recommended because of how bad the parking lots are with the construction.

The PO boats are docking at PI, which is just a short walk to MP. All the other boats are docking at West Side, behind HOB.

The main MP lots are still open, but once they fill up, most of the other nearby lots are closed. And the traffic patterns inside DTD have been modified, and construction has started on Buena Vista Drive out front. You're much better off taking the boat.

We have a 8 am reservation, park not open to 9, will buses run early enough from cr to get us there on time ?

We want to go to the boardwalk area one night in September. Parks close relatively early. Is there a way to take some sort of disney transportation to get back to port Orleans riverside from the boardwalk area after the parks are closed or would we need to take a cab?

Yep, a cab would be the easiest and fastest. The only thing you could do is take a bus from the Boardwalk hotel to DTD and walk or take the boat back to POR. Most people hate the bus, but if you don't want to take a taxi, then I think that would be the fastest way, given the parks may be closed by the time you want to leave.

Thanks for the response- I forgot that buses will be running to DTD. That's an option we don't mind the bus. But the taxi will be a lot faster. Guess it will depend how tired we are.

Hello!

Headed to WDW in a few weeks :yay:, staying at BLT and I have a couple of questions on our EP plans. We will have a rental car. One night we plan on going to dinner at B&C (have 4:30 ADR) and then spending the evening touring EP. A different day we'll be driving to EP at RD to tour. Is it best to drive to both, or to take the monorail and transfer at the TTC? For the night we have B&C dinner, it seems like this would be a pain to have to take the monorail and walk all the way through EP then either walk or take the boat to B&C, so I figured driving would be the best bet then. But, would we have to move our car after dinner? That seems like kind of a pain too. We normally stay at BCV so driving to EP/Boardwalk area is throwing me off! Thanks! :goodvibes

For some reason Bus to HS, then Boat/Walk to dinner popped into my head. I have not tried this myself yet.

Edit: Or, walk to MK from BLT and take a bus to dinner.
