Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

We are driving down and should arrive at WDW around 3-4pm. Tentatively staying at ASMo. I would like to have dinner at Chef Mickeys and ride in on the monorail since this is the kids first trip. :) is this doable?

Movies to MK is about 20 minutes, and up to 20 minute wait for the bus. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes more to walk to the monorail station and ride into CR. So total time under an hour. So, sure!

Or if you want the longest possible monorail ride, take the bus to Epcot, monorail to TTC, then the Resort Monorail all the way around the Lagoon to CR: about 90 minutes.

Could we just drive to MK and get on monorail there? That way we don't have to wait on the bus?

You can't drive directly to the MK you would have to park at the MK lot then take a tram to the ticket and transportation center then take a monorail or Ferry to MK then transfer to the resort monorail or walk to get to CR for CM.

The resort monorail is a separate loop from the monorail to the parking lot for MK. You could do it but it won't make it any quicker. Plus when you decide to leave you will have to redo the whole process to get to your car. If you take a bus you can just take the monorail or walk back to MK then get a bus to your resort.

The other parks all have attached parking lots but MK is a bit more tricky:)

I believe if you have a reservation at CM you might be able to park at the CR then you could just take a monorail ride around the loop after dinner. I haven't had a car the past few trips so I am not 100% sure that is still the case but if it can be done that way it would be the easier option.

The Resort Monorail serves the TTC as well. If driving, one would just board the Resort Monorail at the TTC for the CR; there is no need to ride the Ferryboat or a separate monorail to MK in order to get to the CR.

Considering the wait for the parking tram and the longer monorail ride, I don't think driving to MK would save more than 15 minutes, at most. You could drive to CR and park at the hotel, but then you wouldn't be arriving by monorail.

Correct about MK parking, but the Resort Monorail does stop at the TTC. Unless there's been a recent change!

Hi!

We have a SW breakfast reseravation at DHS at 8:15 a.m. What is the best/quickest way for us to leave there and get to AK? Our first FP reservation is at 10:15...can this realistically be accomplished?

There are buses that run from park to park...so you should be able to get a bus directly to AK from DHS! No way to know how long the SW breakfast will take...I would say probably an hour or so. So, you won't be finishing up until 9:15. I always say to leave an hour to get from point A to point B at WDW. Does your FP window open at 10:15, or is that the end time? If it's the opening time, you should be fine. You have that addtl hour to get to the attraction. If its the window closing time...you will probably make it, but I would't linger at breakfast or getting to the bus stops.

Does the monorail still not run for late extra magic hours? :confused3

And if not, at the GF is the only option back by boat? Or will they provide buses? I would imagine the boats to be pretty full with no monorail...

So, I will go with the assumption that no one knows the answer to this question??? :confused3

I'm sorry but I have no idea. I don't ever stay at the GF. I do know that if the monorail isn't running to those resorts, there will be buses in addition to the boats. At least that was the case....can't imagine that has changed if there is no monorail running for EMH evenings.

Hi guys I have a quick question! We are staying at AoA in the middle of June. We have early morning ADR's at 9:00 for 1900 Park Fair and 8:35 for Chef Mickey. What is the best way to get from the resort to these meals? How long do you think it will take to get there?

Also we have reservations for the pirate and pals firework voyage one night. I know that is also at the contemporary. About how long should we budget for travel time?

And one last question! We are headed to Epcot after our 8:30 am chef mickey meal. What would be the best way to get to Epcot? Bus to Epcot from Comtemp or resort monorail to TKC to Epcot monorail?

Thanks again for any help!!!

1. 1900 Park Fare at 9:00....bus to MK from AoA no later than 7:45. When you get to MK, head to the boats..take the little boat over to the GF. You can ask the bus driver what the best way to get to the GF is...he may offer to drop you off there..but that's not a 'sure thing'.

2. Chef Mickey's at 8:35...bus to MK by 7:30..be out there prior to that because these early buses don't come as often as the regular buses do. If you just miss one, it could be 20+ mins before the next one comes. Then, off the bus at MK, when you get to the area where everyone turns left, to go to MK, you want to go right...there is a sidewalk that runs right beneath the monorail. Take that all the way to the CR...walk is less than 10 mins.

3. Pirate/firework boat.....head to the MK about 60-90 mins before you have to be there...then walk over to the CR.

4.There are no buses to Epcot from any of the MK resorts. So...take the monorail over to the TTC and transfer to the Epcot line!

have a great trip.

The MK monorails normally close 1 hour after regular park close, which would be 1 hour before the end of EMH.

I don't know whether buses are run to the MK resorts to replace the Resort Monorail during EMH. If the monorail goes down during the day, buses are run.

Hi! We are staying at Fort Wilderness in a couple of weeks and have an early ADR at Tusker House one morning. From what I read, the fort's bus doesn't start until 8:00. Is there a good way for us to get to our ADR?

Not sure if that's an accurate start time for busses but either way, I'd take a taxi.
