Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

I just snagged Ohana breakfast at 7:50am on fri 2/7 for a total of 9 ppl. We are staying at POR. Within the group, we have one ecv, one infant (jogging stroller) & 2 young kids (double stroller).

Can we use WDW transportation for this and make it on time? If we took a cab is there room for the accompanying equipment?

Should I just give up and eat at the food court that a.m.? :-)

ETA: I forgot - in a cab would the infant require a car seat?

You can make it with WDW transportation. The buses start running about 6:30 am. I would be out there waiting for the first bus.

Yes, you may just make it, but you should be OK. Be at the bus stop by 6:20 for the bus to MK. Don't be alarmed if you wait 20 minutes for the bus; you should still be OK. Tell the bus driver you are going to Poly; at that hour, they might be able to drop you there. Otherwise, transfer at MK to the Resort Monorail, which starts running at 7 a.m.

If you should arrive a few minutes late, the restaurant will generally accommodate you if you tell them you had transportation issues.

Se we have plans for Chef Mickeys at 5:00pm on our "free day". Meaning we will not be going to any parks that day. We are staying at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort; however, we may be making a trip to Downtown Disney that day (or whatever it may be called at that time...Disney Springs?)

I think, if I read this correctly, from the resort we would take the bus to MK and either take the monorail to CR or simply walk. It should take us close to 50 minutes to make it there.

If we leave from Downtown Disney, then we simply take the bus, which should take (again) close to 50 minutes.

Our return would be to simply get back to MK by walking or monorail and take the bus back to our resort.

Does this seem accurate?

You might make it in 50 minutes from DTD, if you don't have to wait more than 10 minutes for the bus, and you don't have to wait for a driver change at PI, and traffic is better than usual, and there are no wheelchairs to load.

I would expect the trip to take about an hour, and allow at least another 15 minutes for delays. If you can't stand to be a few minutes late, then allow 90 minutes.

From the resort, 50 minutes is a reasonable expectation if you're walking to CR, but again, allow 15 minutes extra for delays.

Thanks. I was expecting to leave at least an hour available for travel, but now I might increase that for some additional travel time. And, it would all depend on when the buses leave from the origin.

Is there a boat from HS to downtown Disney?

No there isn't. There is a boat from HS that goes to Swan, Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht/beach cubs, and EPCOT. The boat from downtown Disney goes to a few resorts such as Port Orleans and Saratoga Springs.

Thanks. I didn't figure there was since there isn't bus transportation. Such a pain to get there!

I'm sure this has already been answered somewhere, but when I tried to search, it gave me about 100 responses :confused3, so I'm hoping this will be quicker.

What the best way to get from Epcot to DTD? We're staying at AoA, so I was hoping to avoid taking a bus all the way back to the resort, just to go back to DTD (knowing my DH, if we do that, he'll just want to stay at the room and we'll never make it to DTD).

It's such a pain to get from theme park to DTD and while I understand the reasoning I would think they could at least run a bus FROM a park to DTD starting late afternoon.

You don't have to bus back to AOA but you do have to take a bus to any resort. Then you can take a bus to DTD.

You can also take the boat from Epcot to any of the resorts on that line and then bus to DTD.

Walk to the beach club (it takes 5 minutes) and take the bus from there.

Sorry didn't want to read this whole thread. How far is walmart and what bus do we take if we decide to take the bus to walmart. Thanks

It's not the closest, but you can take Lynx bus #56 from the TTC to WalMart on US 192 in Kissimmee. It's a 40-minute ride, and the fare is $2 each way.

There's a closer WalMart on Vineland Rd., but there's no bus there.

On our upcoming trip may 10-17, I have three early reservations, one to CP@8:20, another at 1900 park fare @ 8:15, and at tusker house @ 8:10, it is only two of us and we are staying at POP. Is it a for sure thing that the buses run that early or is it hit or miss? Kinda nervous about not knowing a for sure answer and having to call a cab... HELP!

You have a few choices...if you are in the back of Epcot, in WS, just walk over to BC and take their bus to DTD. If you are in the front of Epcot, take a bus to SSR and then you can boat, bus or walk to DTD.

Buses start running by 6:30am. So with that in mind...
CP at 8:20..be out at the MK bus stop by 7:15, latest.

1900 Park Fare at 8:15...be out at MK bus stop no later than 6:45. Bus to MK, then boat to GF...or the monorail. The monorail will take up to 20 mins to get from MK to GF!

Tusker House at 8:10....AK bus stop by 7am.

These buses don't run as often as the regular buses do, so plan accordingly. If you just miss one, you may end up waiting for over 20 mins for the next one. Much better to be early vs late.

Hi Everyone.
I understand that the monorails are down during the weekday afternoons, so I have a question.
How will I get to Epcot from GF in the afternoon on a Monday? :confused3

Thanks! :goodvibes

The Epcot beam is not affected by the current outage. There will be a bus from GF to TTC, where you can transfer to the Epcot Monorail.

Two how do I get there questions.

1. Pop to DTD to DHS
We would like to eat at WPE on our arrival day and then head to DHS for some reserved FP+
I know we have to take the bus from POP to DTD. Got that covered. Now how do we get to DHS?
Bus to any resort to DHS of course. But is there a better way to get to any resort first?

2. Polynesian w/out the monorail running
I seem to recall most suggesting bus to TTC (or monorail if in Epcot, which we might be) and then walking. Is this correct?

Thanks - I think these are my last two big issues before our trip!

  1. No, bus to Pop & transfer to bus to DHS is about the fastest route.
  2. Disney buses don't go to TTC anymore, except to replace downed monorails. From park or resort, take bus to MK. At MK, if Resort Monorail is not running, there will be a bus Poly (usually at Gate 1.) Or, take the boat from MK to Poly.

What a FANTASTIC & informative thread. My eyeballs were getting dizzy trying to scroll through to find this info, so I figured I would just ask :)

I THINK I know the answer, but can you take a bus from DTD to a park or do you have to go to a resort from DTD then to a park?

We aren't able to stay on property :sad1: because we had to wait on our military moving dates before we could book...which was 2 weeks ahead of time. SO we are staying at La Quinta Universal and I'm trying to figure out our best transportation options. (we're driving.)

Sunday we will be arriving around 1130am and doing AK (FP+ reservations made!) then Epcot that night Monday we are doing HS then MK that night.

Any transportation suggestions are welcome! TIA!! pixiedust:
