Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

I would get off at the MK and take their boat over to FtW. You would have to get off the monorail at the CR, go down the elevator, then out the back and down to the dock. Much easier to just get off at MK and walk down to the boat dock from there.

I had forgotten there was a boat to Ft. Wilderness from MK. Thanks! :worship:

As mentioned already....there are no buses to the parks from DTD. Does your hotel offer a shuttle over to the parks? That may be your best bet. The other issue is that the buses at DTD are very sporadic first thing in the day..there is little need for buses coming and going much before 10am. So, it wouldn't even work for you if you tried to get on a bus to the CR (for instance) and then walk over to MK....no buses running early enough for RD.

Fastest way to Cape May? Cab. A cab will take you about 8 mins and cost less than $10. Or, you can take the bus to DHS and then walk over to YC/BC (or take the boat).

To Boma....again fastest way?? Cab again. But, if time is not of the essence, take the bus to AK and then transfer to the AKL bus.

Thank you. We will have a car so we can just drive over. :thumbsup2

One more question, what is the quickest/easiest way to take Disney transportation from DTD to DHS? We need to be at DHS by 8:00 to catch the 9:00 Fantasmic (booked the dining package for lunch earlier in the day). What time would you suggest leaving DTD to make it on time? If we decide to take a taxi instead, what time should we leave and what is the approximate fare? Thanks!

Fastest/easiest is going to be a cab. By cab, you're not all that far away from DHS...probably about 10 mins or so. If you decide to take a cab, I would get one at DTD by 7ish...that way you won't have to rush, and you can take your time entering DHS and heading over to Fantasmic!.

Can't help much with the fare but it shouldn't be too much.

Bus to the Swan, and then a 15-20 minute walk to DHS.

From DTD Pleasure Island bus load zones, allow 55 minutes. From the Marketplace, allow 1:10.

By that hour, TL should be closed & clear, so the Swan will be the 1st stop after PI.

If you prefer not to walk, you can take the boat from the Swan to DHS, which should take no more than 5 minutes longer, unless the first boat in is too full for you to get on.

Hello! I have a 7:20 am reservation for Chef Mickey's and am staying at Pop. If we make it to the bus stop at 6:15, will we be able to make our reservation or is that cutting it too close?
I think you'll be OK if you're willing to make the 10 minute walk from MK to CR, rather than waiting for the Monorail.

I expect you'll arrive at the MK by 7. Don't stress if it looks close; Disney is usually pretty good about accommodating guests who miss their ADR by a few minutes due to Disney Transport delays.

If the park opens up at 8 what time do the buses usually start running?

The buses, from resorts to parks, all start running by 6:30am, every day. It makes no difference what time the parks open. BUT...they do not run quite as often as the regular buses do....so plan accordingly. Once you get to an hour before park opening, the buses will start running every 15 mins or so. But before that time, it is more like every 20-30 mins.

How long does it generally take to get across the World Showcase lagoon using the boats and how often to they run?

Thanks!

Hey Guys,

We are leaving MK for a lunch reservation at 2 p.m. that is at the Polynesian. From what I understand, there is a monorail loop that visits the MK resorts (?) When should we leave the MK in order to reach the Polynesian around 2 p.m.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steven

How long is the walk from Chef Mickey's to MK? We have a 7:00 am ADR so we will be driving there, but my father is taking the car back with him to go to the Holy Land Experience (or Jesus World in our home :rotfl2:) so I thought we could just walk to MK. It will be me, my DH, and my 2 DDs. TIA!!!!

Never mind, I just read the page up a little and got my answer!!! Thanks!

I have an ADR at the Tusker House at 8am on a day the park (AK) doesn't open until 9am...should I take a cab, or will the Disney buses be running early enough to get us there in time?

You should definitely take the bus. Taking a cab to AK that early can be risky because sometimes the parking lot opens late. I would be at the bus stop by 7:00.

Quick question , other than cab which is the best way to get from Pop to CSR??? I know it involves going to a park and transferring , just wondered which park is best to aim for ??

AK or Epcot would be the closest, so I would assume the fastest.

FWIW the cab would be less than $10, and take no more than 10 min.

Neither of the above. DHS is the transfer point for the most direct (and probably fastest) route.

If you drew a line from Pop to CSR, DHS would be pretty darn close to the center of that line.
