Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Your correct.

My original post listed DHS and Epcot as the two closest parks and therefore should be the fastest.

I subsequently edited my post to substitute AK for Epcot and inadvertently changed DHS to AK.

DHS is indeed the bestter option.
Sorry for the error.

Looking to stay in the Beach Club Villas but wanted to know what the transportation will be like to Magic Kingdom?
There are 7 of us. 2 adults, 1: 14yo ds; 1: 8yo ds; g/b twin 4 yo; and 1 who will be 2 at time of trip.

(I gave the kids ages in case there's any extra tips you can include.) We'll most likely use the park strollers, carry the baby while going from resort to parks, and use an umbrella around the resort.

TIA!

AK or Epcot would be the closest, so I would assume the fastest.

FWIW the cab would be less than $10, and take no more than 10 min.

If a cab is only $10 that is sounding good !!
Neither of the above. DHS is the transfer point for the most direct (and probably fastest) route.

If you drew a line from Pop to CSR, DHS would be pretty darn close to the center of that line.

If we don't opt for a cab I will tell DD that we HAVE to go to DHS!!! Last time we went I wanted to go to MK for Chef Mickey !!The line was long soooooo she insisted on catching the Epcot bus :scared1:Did not work out well !!Ended up getting a cab!!:scared1:

What about on a grad night when MK "closes" at 7p. If i wanted to boat over to fW for the eve would i be able to get back to MK?

Hi everyone
We are going to be staying at WL and will be hiring a car
We always drive everywhere but am I correct in thinking that getting the boat to MK would be quicker than driving?
We have an 8.05 ADR in the park and really wanted to get into the park as early as possible to get some good pictures
If the boat is our best option, what would be the earliest boat of the day?
Sorry if this is already answered in this thread but I could find it!
TIA - this is a great thread!

Probably not to the MK; but the boat to the CR runs until 11:30 p.m.

But why back to MK after it's closed?

Boat service to MK starts 30 minutes before MK opening.

Boat service to CR starts at 6:45. You can walk from CR to MK.

The bus from WL to MK should start running around that same time.

The Resort Monorail starts at 7 a.m., so driving to the TTC would get you there no earlier.

Because we will have a rental and going to MK that day
OK, so you actually want to get the the MK parking lot, which is at the TTC.

No problem -- take the boat from FtW to the CR, and then the resort monorail to the TTC. The resort monorail runs until at least 11 p.m. (or 2 hours after MK closes, if later.)

There will be no parking lot trams running. so you'll have to walk to your car from the monorail station. Be sure to make a note of the section and row number you park in. There's a big map of the parking lot sections just before you enter the tunnel from TTC to the lot. I think the distance to the furthest corner of the lot is about 1/2 mile.

okay, I am planning on going to both DTD and Epcot, with DTD first. (for dinner!)

I know they don't run buses directly to the parks from DTD anymore, but was wondering what the best resort to use as a transfer point? (I am staying on property and have no car, so this is me using the system properly and 'legally'.)

Also, do they run buses from the parks to DTD? I don't think they do but thought to check just in case we decide we want to visit DTD post park.

TIA!

If you're on the Marketplace side of DTD, your fastest trip would be the 10-minute walk to SSR Congress Park depot. Walk out to the bus loading area, turn left across the canal, and then follow the path along the waterfront. When you reach the Congress Park pool, walk away from the lake between the buildings to the bus stop.

If you're on the West Side, or just not up for the walk, the most direct route is the bus to OKW. If you're not in a hurry, you can also get a boat to OKW from PI, near the Paradiso Restaurant.

No buses from the parks to DTD. You can always go to SSR Congress Park and walk, or just catch the DTD bus there. Or catch a bus from a resort nearby the park you're at.

:worship: thank you! I will be printing what you wrote about ways to go depending at where about DTD we are at, so very helpful!
:woohoo:

We have decided not to endure another hour plus trip from DTD back to our resort this year.

Where are the cab stands at DTD? And, Mear's Checker Cabs are the "official" cabs, correct?

TIA! :goodvibes

Head toward the parking lot between World of Disney and the Basin store, cabs will be lined up there.
You can also get one near Planet Hollywood

on one of our MK day we are thinking about eating at Sanaa which is at the AK villas-Kidani Village . How long to get there by car?

From the time you get to your car figure 15-20 minutes. It's about a 7 mile drive. Take World Dr to exit for Osceola Pkwy, Blizzard Beach, Animal Kingdom, Wide World of Sports. Turn right onto Osceola Pkwy and follow to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can help a confused Brit please?

We will be using our hotel transport from I-Drive to Epcot bus area and will be going to the following places:

Day #1 - TL, TL to DHS, and then back to Epcot again to be picked up
Day #2 - Epcot only (no need to travel anywhere else)
Day #3 - MK

The one I really need help with is Day #1 - what are the best routes to use? Will we be able to get a bus direct from Epcot to TL? What is the best route from TL to DHS? Same question for DHS back to Epcot again?

Day #3 I assume we should use the monorail from Epcot to the TTC and then onto MK?

Any help is much appreciated!
