Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Can you please tell me how to get from POFQ to the Fort Wilderness Campground for a 5:00 Hoop-de-doo ADR? And, how long will it take us to get there?

Thank you so much! Dana
Dana,

Bus to MK, boat to Fort Wilderness, walk to Pioneer Hall.

It will probably take about an hour, but you should allow 90 minutes.

If I'm staying at Pop Century...how long can I expect it for me to get from there to the Polynesian? Or from there to Animal Kingdom Lodge? Do the busses run at set intervals? I've been so many times, but never took Disney transportation...always had a car. I'll be by myself so I am worried.

I realize you haven't used Disney transportation before but as you may already know it does not run from resort to resort?
If you are going to the Poly from Pop you will have to go to a park (DHS preferably) and then take the bus to the Poly depending on the time of your trip it can take anywhere from 30 mins to 1 hr.
If you go from Pop to AKL you would do the same, go to a park (DHS preferably) an then the resort bus to AKL trip time should be a little shorter but you never know?
Hope this helps and if anyone else would like to suggest a better or shorter trip via Disney transportation please give us your ideas......

Have Fun!!

Take the bus to MK...then either boat, or monorail, over to the Polynesian. The boat will go to the GF first, then on to the Polynesian. The monorail will take about 15+ mins...depending on wait times.
I would figure on allowing 40 mins to get from Pop to the Polynesian.

I'm sure this has been asked before but I went back a few pages and didn't see anything, does anyone know roughly how much time it'll take from AOA to all the parks on the buses? Somewhere I read to expect an hr each way for MK and that sounds kind of off to me

I am sorry if this question has been asked many times, but we may be getting the park hopper tickets on our next Disney vacation and I am wondering if we always have to take the monorail to the TTC if we want to go to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom from the Magic Kingdom? Are there any buses that will take you to these parks directly from the Magic Kingdom or do we have to catch a bus from the TTC? Thank you for helping me with this information.

That's just a general estimate for all resort to park transportation. More realistically, It's going to 30ish minutes including waiting for the bus, but you should always allow extra time.

You also have to take the walk from where the bus drops you off (a couple of minutes) and going through bag check (anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes) into account.

Thank you, I assume HS and AK won't be as long since we are pretty close, we r hoping to not have any bags also, thank you for the help

I usually figure on about 40 mins...depending on wait time, for the bus to come, it can vary between 20 and 50 mins. MK and AK will take the longest due to both parks being furthest away from AoA.

Nope, buses to both AK and DHS leave from the TTC. Only resort buses run to and from the MK directly. You could just walk over to the CR (under 10 mins) and take their bus to either park, but that bus is going to make stops at other resorts. If you take the Express Monorail over to the TTC, it won't take long at all...maybe 15 mins, including wait time. Then you can get on a direct bus to either DHS or AK.

Thank you! I am trying to figure out the most efficient way to "park hop" :)

We're staying at AoA in December and are checking in late morning/early afternoon on Thursday. We have a 6:30pm reservation at The Campgrounds at Ft. Wilderness. Does anybody know the best way to get there?

Do you mean the Hoop De Doo Revue? If so, the best way to get there using Disney transportation is to take the bus to MK then the boat to Ft. Wilderness. From there it's just a short walk to Pioneer Hall, which is where they do the HDDR.

If I take a taxi to MK, can they drop us off at the entrance? Or do they have to drop off at the TCC?

We have an early morning ADR at MK (before park opens) and are thinking about taking a taxi instead of the disney buses.

Thanks.

Taxis cannot get close to the front of MK. You would be dropped off at the TTC.

The closest you can get with a taxi is if you ask the driver to take you to the Contemporary Resort & then walk across (maybe 10 minutes or less) to the MK.

Ok Thanks. I was hoping the taxi would allow us to sleep in a little, but maybe we'll just take the disney buses since they can drop off at the entrance.

Staying at Fort Wilderness cabins, have a 830 breakfast at 1900 Fare and an 830 breakfast at Tusker house on another day? What's my best options and do you really have to be at the restaurants 20 minutes before your reservation time? Thanks for the help. (do have my own car but will do buses, monorails or boats if better?)
