Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Can you help get me from Caribbean Beach to the polynesian? Do I take a bus to Magic kingdom and catch the monorail or take the bus to epcot and catch the monorail? Thanks!
Either way. Probably about the same duration.

To use the monorail at MK to go to Poly, do we need to go into the park? We are going to Ohana on our arrival day so not using a park ticket that day?

What is the earliest I could get to Disney Springs on a Disney bus from POFQ?

...no, because the monorail doesn't take you inside the park....

...although you could do it both ways, I'd probably use the first way, since, once you get onto the monorail at Epcot [which goes to MK], you still have to take another monorail to the Poly...

You can walk to the Poly from the TTC.

Nope. The station is outside the gate. You can also take a (small) ferry boat if that's more interesting to you.

We're driving down in late September and staying in a Cabin at FTW. We're planning on using the boat to go to MK. For the other parks, should we drive our car or take a bus? My thought is to drive but I'm curious about what others have done.

It will be "quicker" to drive to the other parks. It may or may not be "more convenient" depending on you plans.

We're driving from Universal for an 8:20am breakfast at MK on a Tuesday in late May .

What time should we hit the TTC to get there in time, and how much drive time should we allow?? I'm also seeing some chatter about Monorail upgrades, and wondering if that will have much of an impact on us.
Did you get any help on this or decide what you are going to do? I didn't see any responses, but I might've missed them. I'm staying offsite this weekend and planning to go for a 8:20 breakfast at MK this Saturday, 4/30. I'm trying to get a handle on how much time to allow also. My resort is only about 15 minutes away, but not sure how much time to allow between parking at the TTC and entering MK.

I don't know whether this has changed recently, but the buses from the resorts to DTD used to start around 8:30, or one hour before TL opened when that was earlier.

I recall hearing that some of the opening times at the Marketplace were changing, but I don't know whether that has affected the start time of bus service.

We are DW newbies. I'm staying at CBR this year (last year we were at Ft. Wilderness). Each time we had to ride the bus was nerve-wracking as we have 3 small kids, bags and a stroller to juggle on and off the busses. The Ft. Wilderness boats were so convenient and fast so now I'm wondering how transportation will go if we are staying at CBR this year... How long is the bus to MK from CBR?

Hi! I can't comment on the CBR buses in particular. Your experience with FW may have included the internal bus system which adds an extra step. I understand that is not part of the system at CBR. Buses at WDW are what they are. I can't say that they vary much between resorts. Your family dynamic is the reason many people do everything they can to stay at an MK resort or even a deluxe at Epcot. If it was really that stressful for you it may be worth investigating a deluxe hotel or the Swan and Dolphin if you can fit it into your budget. Or even a car rental.

I wanted to refer you to the Disney for Families board. You can get lots of good tips for dealing with little ones and their stuff over there.

Some tips - Allow extra time for buses so you don't feel rushed. Travel at off-peak times away from park opening and closing. Bring only the bare necessities in your bag. You can get a lot of stuff at the baby care centers in each park. Use a bag that is backpack style so you can keep your arms free. Don't overload the stroller with stuff that has to be carried. Mom can deal with 2 kids, while Dad takes care of the oldest and the stroller if you have your hands free. Consider bringing an umbrella stroller or renting something more portable that what you would bring from home. There are great tips on that board.

i read somewhere that Disney springs bus stop is at the opposite end of Cirque Du Soleil. But I was just looking at an aerial map on Bing and it looked like there are multiple bus stops. Can someone please provide me with the right information? Thanks!

Yes, the bus stops are in the Marketplace, the opposite end from Cirque. There used to be other bus stops, but those areas are now covered by a parking garage.
There might be a bus area, down by Cirque, that services the Lynx bus system...Orlandos public transit. If there are addtl WDW bus stops, other than at Marketplace, I'm not aware of them.

Is there some kind of master chart somewhere that lists transportation options and average travel times between resorts/parks? Seeing the depth of some of the planning info out there right now I am kind of amazed I haven't come across a chart like this yet. I have the transport map, but I'm looking for estimates of "average" travel time.

There's a resort-to-park chart with average transit times in the Unofficial Guide book. I think that's the same company as touringplans.com

At this time, resort buses stop only at the Marketplace.

In the not too distant future (probably within a month), the Marketplace bus depot will be closing and buses will stop only at the Town Center, roughly in the middle of DS.

G4T is right, the depot near Cirque is used by Lynx and a few non-Disney resorts. The one you might be seeing near Planet Hollywood no longer exists, as the Bing satellite imagery is quite outdated, but the new Town Center depot will be in that general area.
