Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

For the park to park buses.. about how often do they run (what would be the max wait)?

Thanks

Sorry to be posting what I think is an easy question, but the Disney website isn't working for me right now :sad2:

I will be staying at ASSports. Two of the days, I need to get to Shades of Green to take the shuttle from there to Universal. I think the easiest way to do this is to take the Disney shuttle from ASSp to TTC, then take the SOG shuttle from TTC to SOG (unless it is a nice day, in which case I would walk). And then at night I would need to do the opposite: SOG shuttle from SOG to TTC, then Disney shuttle from TTC to ASSp. Does that sound correct?
There are no resort buses to the TTC. What shuttle are you taking to US? Just curious. I'm not absolutely sure there's a bus to SoG from the TTC. Mears runs a shuttle that will come right to your resort. If you have to get to SoG, I would take a cab.

I don't think I've ever waited more than 15 mins...possibly 20 once.

There is a bus stop at TTC. What buses use that bus stop if not resort buses? Do I need to take a resort bus to MK, then monorail to TTC, then SOG shuttle to SOG?

SOG has a shuttle to US. I don't know who runs it, but the SOG website says "Shuttle transportation is available from Shades of Green to Universal Orlando Resort for a nominal round trip fee of $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child. Under 4 is free. Advanced reservations are required." And the SOG website has a bus schedule for going to TTC, so I should be good there.

Mears was much more expensive and I'm trying to save money so taking a taxi isn't ideal. Getting to SOG is by far the cheapest, I just don't know how to get there!:thumbsup2

TTC bus area is used by SOG, Lynx (public bus service), and some non-Disney hotel shuttles. Disney resort buses go directly to MK. The Disney buses you'll see parked at TTC generally are just stored there during slow periods of the day.

So you could take your resort bus to MK, then monorail or Ferryboat to TTC, then shuttle to SOG. Or, instead of going from MK to TTC, you could take the Resort Monorail from MK to Poly, and walk about half a mile to SOG.

I'm assuming you have military or other SOG-eligible ID. Such ID is required to ride the SOG shuttles around WDW, and probably the one to UO as well. In fact, I would suggest you verify in advance that the shuttle to UO is not restricted to Guests actively staying at SOG.

Thanks for the info! Yes, I have an ID that will work. I have to schedule the shuttle in advance anyways so when I call to schedule I will verify I don't need to be staying at SOG. That was a great idea about just getting to the Poly then walking, I didn't even think of that. Great suggestion!

On my AK day, I have a reservation for Sanaa at 5:20. AK closes at 6:00 that day. So I know I can take the bus to Animal Kingdom Villas from AK but how will I get back to our resort at CSR? I would think the buses to AK would be done for the day after we have eaten, so I was thinking how do I get back to the resort if the buses have stopped to AK.

We used Uber. $7 door to door to get to Swan.

Leaving that close to closing, give yourself extra time to get to AKL. We had to wait for 3 buses at AK before the AKL bus had room to take us to Sanaa. Everyone's going to eat.

My family and I are about one month away from being able to make our dining reservations (hooray!) and I would like to get a general impression of when early buses begin running from Animal Kingdom Lodge. We want to visit some of our favorites for breakfast, like Kona Cafe at the Polynesian, and Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, but I don't want to reserve a time we can't achieve. Thanks for your assistance!

Buses start around 6:30AM every morning.

I'm staying at Caribbean Beach and have a breakfast ressie at Boma at 8a.m. What's the best way to get there please.

Thanks. And about how long does it take the bus to get from HS to AK? Thanks!

I have found park to park buses have an interval of 15 minutes during busier times and up to 30 minutes at off-peak times - like mid afternoon. HS to AK drive is about 10 or 15 minutes plus wait time.

Best bet is taxi or Uber. The only other way is the earliest bus to AK which would be 2 hours before opening and then pray for a bus over to to AKL which is not easy to come by. Or hope your bus driver takes pity and drops you over at AKL. All a crapshoot. Take a taxi.

So if I take the bus to SS and get off at the Congress Park stop, how far of a walk is it? We plan on eating at Paradiso 37. Where would we end up if we walked? This matters to me because it will be in July and verrrryy hot!! Thanks! Just trying to find the shortest route.

You could also get off at the SS bus stop called "The Springs" and walk to the boat dock behind the main building. The boat goes straight to The Landing, and Paradiso 37.

We are staying at YC for 4th of July weekend. We have a later dinner at Narcoosee's for the fireworks on the 3rd. Any thoughts on the best way to get back to YC? As of now, EP, closes at 9:00, so I can't cut through IG. I'd prefer to avoid the craziness that will be MK if at all possible.

Monorail or boat to the Magic Kingdom and catch a bus from there.

You can transfer at DS. There will probably be traffic congestion there, but not as bad as the crowds at MK, and the buses should be able to bypass most of it with the new depot and dedicated bus lanes. Whether management will allocate enough buses to fully take advantage of the improvements and move crowds in and out efficiently remains to be seen.

Quick question. We are at animal kingdom lodge. Have breakfast ADR at wilderness lodge tomorrow morning then going to mk. We have a rental car so will be driving. Is our best bet to drive to wilderness and try and leave our car there and take ferry to mk. Or just drive over to TTC after eating and park there?

The second choice. You're not supposed to park at a resort and then go to a park.

Driving from WL to the MK parking lot can be a little bit confusing if you're not familiar with the area. As you exit WL, continue straight through the traffic light past the Guest Drop-Off and the Poly. After Poly, continue around to the left. Opposite the Speedway gas station, there is a left turn for return to MK parking, just before the toll booth. If you happen to miss that turn, there is a turn-around about a half mile down World Dr.

Can you help get me from Caribbean Beach to the polynesian? Do I take a bus to Magic kingdom and catch the monorail or take the bus to epcot and catch the monorail? Thanks!
