Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Epcot. It's a 5 minute walk. DHS is a 20 minute walk or boat ride, so still pretty close.

Probably a question that's been asked before but all I remember from Epcot is the parking lot and bus area near the entrance....where/how do we walk from Epcot to Cape May?

You walk out of the International Gateway, which is the back entrance to Epcot. It's located in the World showcase between France and the UK.

Oh goodness! You need to spend some time in the World Showcase! It's my favorite part of WDW.

We were there for a brief time last visit...ate dinner at Via Napoli but by the time we were out from dinner it was dark and we found a spot to watch Illuminations...our next planned day there it rained....have planned 3 days this time and really planning to enjoy F&W...yay!!

First time staying on site and first vacation visit. Staying at the Poly and thinking of going to Hoop-Dee-Doo on our first night. Best way and how long does it take to get to FW? Thanks.

Take either the monorail or the boat launch from the Poly to MK. Then take the boat to Ft wilderness from there. Pioneer Hall, where Hoop is, is a short walk from the docks. I would allow 90 minutes, mainly to allow for just missed boats or monorails.

Thanks for the quick response! I’m originally from Maryland, i miss the crab cakes

This upcoming weekend will be in MK

A couple of transportation questions I have.

PoP to Poly for 9:30am breakfast then to Epcot after. We are thinking taxi to Poly (need carseat) and can we walk from Poly to TCC for monorail? Is that path still blocked with construction?

Pop to AKL for 6:30pm ADR. Should we bus to AK then to AKL?

Yes, but an alternate route has been set up. Ask at the lobby for directions.

You can also take the bus to MK and the Resort Monorail to get to Poly for breakfast. The Resort Monorail is opening at 8:30.

Yes. Allow 90 minutes.

You didn't tell us, by the way, which show. Disney offers buses back to your resort for the later shows.

I see on the here that the show times are 4:00 6:15 and 8:30. Is that pretty much standard times all year long or do they adjust those times?

There are very few places that you can walk from point to point, my favorite was walking from BLT to Magic Kingdom. It takes about 5-7 minutes and is not crowded like the monorail.

Trying to get the "logisitics" of transportation down..
Must admit, "didn't even think of it" before as we've always had a car.
Looking forward to learning some "ins and outs" of transportation this Dec!

Just want to make sure that I am correct on this:
1. Going from HS to GF: Would take the boat from HHS to Epcot. Then catch a monorail to TTC. Then from TTC take another monorail to GF?
If correct, just checking though that we would not need admission at Epcot, as I won't have a park hopper and will be at HS for the day.

2. Going from Epcot to GF, just take the monorail from the Grand to TTC..Change for Epcot Monorail?

THANKS from a transportation NOVICE!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

No. You'll just take the bus from DHS to GF.

You could do what you proposed, but it would require valid admission to get into Epcot and it would take a very, very, very long time.

Yes.

Yes, looking for the quickest route...2nd question..

Eating dinner at WL from AK Lodge..Then going to Ft.Wilderness on a Holiday Sleigh Ride to tour the Holiday Decorations.:santa:

We would take the bus from AKL to Magic Kingdom, then take a boat to Wilderness Lodge. After dinner, then take a boat to Ft. Wilderness, correct?

THANKS!!:thumbsup2:cool1:
