Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

someone answer one question for me....How was it that "atomic blast" didn't kill claires dad and parkman imediately???!!!!!!! it's not like the was the human torch they were atomic waves!!! And how was it that the little blast he was makign while waiting didn't harm the boy of clairs mom at all???

now Im a huge comic fan and I love this kind of stuff....but if your trying to make it believeable then follow what you have set up! nuke man was not like the human torch it wasn't just fire he was playing with but nuclear material!!

Forgive me if this was already mentioned (I didn't see it....)

Did anyone else notice the necklace the Haitian was wearing when he first arrived at Claire's house when he was young?

It looks to be the same as the tattoo on Niki / Jessica's shoulder.

If I remember correctly, in one of the first episodes before Simone's dad died, her dad told Peter he had a dream about him (Peter) and they were flying. Does anyone else remember this and any other details? It seems like he said Peter would do something (save the world? lol) anyone else remember?

When Lyle said he'd called 911 my first thought was oh right like the police are going to show up, bet they have the phone set to actually call one of the company offices in the event that 991 is dialed. And then lo and behold after Lyle calls 911, the boss shows up.

I forget what it stands for though :guilty:

Interestingggggg therory ... hmmmm....

I might have to watch it again, but I thought there was a reference made to Bennett calling Eric Roberts. Either Bennett said something like "Thanks for coming," or Eric Roberts said something like, "It's a good thing you called me when you did." I can't remember who was the one who said it, but I'm sure I heard something like that and went, Aha! That's why he's there.

Who is Luke? If you mean Claire's brother, I thought his name was Lyle?

You're right. It seems that HRG called Roberts to alert him about the Haitian once he found that the Haitian actually worked for someone else and disobeyed his (bennet's ) orders. He didn't figure all the other events were gonna happen and that Claire's ability would be revealed.

That's the Human genome symbol. He has worn that necklace as an adult too. You can see it in past episodes. Also that symbol has been shown in different scenes since the beginning of the show. Almost like finding hidden mickeys!;)

Thanks for the info! I have totally missed it!! :confused3 They must have done the close up for us slow viewers!
I guess I can blame the couple of glasses of merlot that usually go along with the show.:rolleyes1

It is ironic that you mention this, because my coworker and I were just discussing the fact that Dr. Pasdar operated on his father a few years back. Dr. Pasdar had told my friend that his son was an actor(I think he was on Judging Amy at that time), but my friend didn't make the connection until last night's episode that Dr. Pasdar's son was playing Nathan.

Very interesting and most likely the same Dr. Pasdar!!! I cut and pasted that bio from IMDB.com (Internet Movie Data Base) page for Adrian Pasdar....

They also revealed that it's also a combination of two Japanese letters. I just don't remember what they said they mean.

HeroesSymbol.jpg

From Wikipedia:

The symbol appears most frequently throughout the series. In episode 12 ("Godsend") the symbol, as appears on the sword hilt, is revealed by Ando Masahashi to be a combination of two Japanese characters: 才 (sai) meaning "great talent" and 与 (yo) meaning "Godsend". Appearances include

As a decorative object in the Bennets' home.
In a swimming pool at the scene of one of Sylar's murders. Several flotation devices form the shape. (ep. 102, when Matt is next to the swimming pool, before being questioned by the FBI women)
On a billboard behind Hiro when he teleports at Times Square.
On a drawing done by Peter Petrelli.
On various paintings by Isaac Mendez.
On a post-it note on the map in Mohinder Suresh's apartment.
A pattern in the algorithm of a program in Chandra Suresh's laptop computer.
Written on a geometry textbook owned by Claire Bennet.
Written on pictures in Sylar's apartment.
On Jessica's back whenever she surfaces as Niki's alternate personality. When Jessica is repressed, the symbol does not appear on Niki's back.
On the hilt of a katana once owned by 16th-century samurai Takezo Kensei, possibly the earliest known manifestation of the symbol. This katana is held by future Hiro and sought by present Hiro. The symbol also appears on the replica of the sword, which was stolen from the museum by Hiro.
Printed on the front of Chandra Suresh's book, Activating Evolution.
Printed on the upper-left corner of the 14th issue of 9th Wonders! comic book, written by Isaac Mendez.
On a necklace worn by the Haitian.
On a picture of Niki as "Jessica", painted by Isaac. The symbol was hidden under an extra layer of paint. (Later on, Jessica hides the symbol under a layer of foundation.)
Drawn on a Greyhound bus sign, seen right before D.L. spots the runaway Micah in the episode "Homecoming".
The branch in the tank of Chandra's lizard.
Formed by shards of broken glass on the hallway floor when Sylar attacks Mrs. Bennet.
Seen in the form of an ice sculpture as a dolphin in the kitchen of a Las Vegas casino.
On the poker chips from Linderman's casino.
On the "About Us" page at Primatech Paper Company's website as part of the Heroes 360 experience.
On the sign behind Hiro and Ando when Hiro tells Ando to go home in Unexpected
In the sand where Nikki buries the bodies of the men that she (Jessica) killed

DH and I were talking last night after watching it and we were saying that this is the on thing that this show gives that Lost doesn't. Answers!

Loved the show!
YES!!!! This is why it is sooooo hard to watch Lost now! I tell my friends who are Lost fans to watch Heroes, because at least you have an idea of what's going on! Now I can barely tolerate Lost - especially that last episode.

I feel the same way. I haven't even watched the last 2 episodes of Lost, just can't get interested in it again. Heroes just gets better and better.

that is what I thought at first but now I think HRG realized that since other's know about Claire, it would only be a matter of time before Roberts came to collect her. He "set" the Haitian up as a "bad" guy by calling Roberts, only so the Haitian could take Claire to safety and HRG would still look like he is 100% with the program. But I am probably completely off base!
