Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

I think the issue might be "necessary, but not sufficient, conditions". In many things, a number of elements are necessary to satisfy a requirement. Each one of those things is a necessary, but not sufficient, condition. So in this case, if the cheerleader was killed by Syler, then the catastrophic result became inevitable -- inescapable. However, there is still more work left to be done to avoid the catastrophe.

Bicker, I think you stated that very well. I agree with your reasoning.

As for Claire's real father being Sylar. I don't think so, although focusing on the watch would lead you to think that. Hmm, what if Sylar started to obtain powers after meeting Claire's real father when he was repairing a watch for him? Maybe, still is Linderman. Maybe, like Nathan Petrelli, Linderman couldn't have a daughter associated to him with specific powers so he had the Bennett's adopt her because HRG already worked for him... but then Linderman funded research to find other "special" people.

OK, I'm reading in too much now. In any case, the man's arm looked well dressed. I couldn't tell what type of watch he had on, as in, I don't think it was a Rolex, but some other expensive watch perhaps? He looked to have a good shirt on, too. Heck, maybe it's Linderman's brother?:rotfl:

Its driving me crazy I know that actress (the psych doctor) from something, but she's not even showing up on IMDB

I don't know if this is it for you or not, but at first I thought she was Penny Johnson Jerrard, who played Sherry Palmer on 24. She didn't look exactly right, but she sounded so much like her that I just thought she had gained weight or something. I had to go back and check the guest stars at the beginning before I could be convinced it wasn't her.

See, I don't think that is too far fetched. I was thinking maybe Nathan and Peter's father might be Claire's dad too. I know I am really reaching here.

Hopefully tommorow's repeat will explain some missing pieces to the puzzle(and happily joing the Hiro bangwagon, he just makes me smile but still a Peter girl)

can someone explain the whole 'save the Cheerleader, save the world" storyline?

The cheerleader was saved, but it looks like the world is still going to end, and it has nothing to do with her.:confused3 :confused3

I have two thoughts on this...first is that I think its more of two statements not one with implied words not stated. "Save the cheerleader and then save the world" is how I look at it.

I also think there is some sort of sequence that has to be there in order for the rest of the things to fall into place. Claire will play a role in saving the world. If the cheerleader was not saved, then that could mean catasrophic results. She needed to be saved in order for other events to take place to save the world.

As were Claire and her birth mother, and we know that wasn't the case.

I'm ever starting to wonder if the maker of the list is dead. It would really turn things around on their ear if he was alive and both him and his son have powers (powers the son has yet to discover).

 Oh, I didn't even think about that.

It could be as simple as keeping Sylar from stealing her abilities and leading to the persuasive woman to kill herself.

Personally this theory of mine also rests in the idea that they wouldn't have got an actor like him to come in and only be in a few flashbacks. I have a feeling he will be around again, which is good, because I really like that guy. He was awesome in Stargate.

I figured "Save the Cheerleader" meant that if Sylar got Claire's powers, and became nearly impossible to destroy, the World was sunk. But yeah, maybe she has something else she needs to do.

And I think Mohinder may have some latent powers. He had a sister that was "special", remember?

I definitely don't think Mohinder's dad is dead.
