Wow! Wow! Wow! I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I like this event better than SWW. Yes, I said it. One of the first things we did was head to the trading post. This was just before 9:30am. The queue was out to TSM. So we turned around. Found a nice scenery photopass area and the photographer had some kind of magic shot! Stopped and posed for it. Then headed to the Premium Package check-in area. We were about the 20th in line. But still got a spot at the rope. I stood in line while dh and ds sat in the shade. They came over to me once we were near the check-in podium. Someone in line had told me that there were 2 park opening shows today. One for EMH and one for official park opening. We missed these. There are 2 podiums at check in. The 1st was to check in to the event. The 2nd was to pick your time for the sing-along. There was 1 icecream cart and drink cart set up together with 2 cm working it. Frozen Lemonade, Frozen Strawberry Lemonade and Mickey Premium bars were the snack choices. Drinks were coke products in bottles or Dasani water. While we were waiting for the parade, cm told us the parade was going to proceed down to Star Tours. I asked if even Anna and Elsa would go that way after the Welcome, and was told yes. The parade was amazing. The costuming, theming, etc. rivaled FoF, imho! For those who were at Darth's Mall. I haven't been to the trading post yet, but I was told that there is outdoor waiting to get in only. There is no indoor queue like there was for Darth's Mall. Instead, the indoor queue is not the shopping area and the mall part is now the area with the skating, play area, and photo area. The photo area uses the aurasma App just like it did for SWW. At the parade we were told the area to enter the sing-along was at the side of the Premiere Theater. We thought maybe it would be the FP+ area that was used for SWW. It is not. It is the entrance the kids who were in Visit to the Maul used. It's on the side of the building closer to the San Francisco back drop. Big Improvement upon SWW, there were umbrellas lining the San Francisco Street! When we arrived for the package sing-along, they were calling the line the VIP queue. The first row was reserved for w/c seating. So the people who lined up first, did not get front row seats, but 2nd row. The back row of the front section was also reserved for w/c. The lighting and special effects at the sing-along blew me away! I was very impressed! The whole show was very well done.

Was there any shade in the parade viewing area at the rope? And did you just stay there after you received your lanyard and singalong time, or did you leave and come back at the 10:30 check-in time?
Having taught ice skating for quite some time- I have seen a lot of head injuries. It is a smart move by Disney. (Even more so now that I read all the skaters are hockey skates. Beginners tend to go over backwards on those a lot more due to the blade shape. The tail of the figure skate helps that.)
I thought it was super weird that they chose hockey skates too. CM's said they assume it had to do with the event being put together in a week.
People did surprisingly well though. I was impressed, most people remained upright the whole time. Better than most public sessions!
I was hoping to have 1 adult get in the check in line while another adult gets in the show tix line. If everyone needs to be present for both, why not just have more people at the check in desk and take care of both at the same time?
I was wondering the same thing! Isn't 'efficiency' one of Disney's core values!? This doesn't seem very efficient?
lovethattink, thanks for reporting! Will pass on the info to DD and her friends! Hope your son is feeling better, too!
At the park now---- not as packed as we expected--- Waited 90 mins to get into "Oaken's", but was well worth it--- great merch, and love the Magic bands! They can be activated immediately at the register
Just looked at my photopass pictures!! The magic shot is Sven!!
Awesome! I saw one with Olaf also that someone else had taken.

There are 2 olaf, 1 sven, 1 a&e, and one doing elsa magic (;
Is there a limit of one Magic Band per person and do you have to activate it to your account? My DD22 and I are going down at the end of August just to see the Frozen event. Our whole family is going back in mid September and I would like to buy bands for all the girls going.
Thanks for everyone's reports so helpful!
Question..so if we are most interested in the Sing ALong and don't want to buy the package, how much waiting would we have to do to get in?
Lovethattink, what time show did you end up getting? (Sorry if you already said this and I missed it)
Olaf to right of hat (no backdrop), elsa magic on that main road (i didn't do this because of parade), a & e by the bridge in the ice skating area, sven in front of one man's dream, olaf in front of the outside of oakens.
Not everyone was getting all of them, so be sure to use your please and thank you and ask the photopass person very nicely if they are able to do it for you!

Thanks to everyone for posting all of these awesome and helpful updates and tips! We are headed down next week-end for my husband's work conference at the Yacht Club and I've booked a premium package for Tuesday the 15th. Unfortunately, he will not be able to join us until after 4pm (when his meetings are done). Everyone is posting about the entire family having to be present to pick up lanyards/tickets. Would someone know if in this type of case I would be able to select the show time (which my husband will not be seeing) and pick up his lanyard?
