*-Official February 2015 Thread-*

We will be in the world jan 29-Feb 5. It is my first trip since 2002. I am going with my husband (who is not a Disney guy) my father (the original Disney guy) and my four year old daughter (total Disney princess). Excited doesn't even start it for me. This will be my thirteenth trip, and I have everything done FP, dinning all done. I can't believe I am going back to my favorite place on earth. It has been way to long. Anyone have tips on dressing little girls as princesses in the parks? I am taking a handmade Cinderella and Elsa costume. I have the FP for both. Am I going overboard or do people still do this?

Not overboard at all! My girls will each be bringing two princess dresses and a Minnie dress. My best tip would just be to make sure you bring an extra change of clothes into the park with you. They may be ready to change out of their dresses before the end of the day. Have a great time! :)

Hope I don't regret it, I've heard President weekend is packed now compared to past years I went then, but with the kids ball schedules it may be the only time we can fit in before summer. So we will be there Feb 13-16 ! Just gonna do my best with planning and fastpass....:thumbsup2

I am happy to hear your magic band will be on its way soon! Isn't it such a fun and exciting feeling. Guess we better start our packing now!

Just really hoping now my BRONCO's make it to the Super Bowl! Icing on the cake!

Oh also noticed MK is going to be open later on the 4th, so now I think I will hop over to AK and then back to MK to try and see Anna and Elsa then the desert party for Wishes!

Yes it is a exciting feeling. Not ready for suitcases or packing just yet, but almost there. I have a few more things I need to do. Small stuff, check schedule and what not. What time is Mk open to on the 4th?

Do you get to personalize them? Sorry you aren't able to share in this excitement. I really wish you were able to. This is my first year with magic bands. In past I have had annual pass and on our final trip Disney was just introducing the plastic cards and magic bands. Had a few green light Mickey's instead of the usual turnstyle. Was quite the change as they "herded" us all into the large building in Epcot near where the first aid station is and issued the new cards. Have a great trip! Maybe we will see each other as I believe you are there when I am. I will have a red and white polka dot ribbon on my back pack, in case you just want to say hi if you happen to see me! I love meeting others who love Disney!

We are in WDW from 1-7 :). I was able to personalize the bands, yes. So hopefully we get what I ordered a check in and not the boring grey ones. ;)

We plan on bringing some stickers and nail polish and giving ours a quick custom bit of bling when we get them if they are there when we arrive and we don't get them in the mail- but that is because we have a whole day in the resort before we hit the parks

By "open later", do you mean they've started changing some of the hours recently?

Everyone's getting their MagicBands shipped and I'm just sitting here still trying to decide what base color I want to cover in nailpolish designs. :surfweb: No, but seriously, horray for MagicBands!! What's everyone down to? My countdown clock says 42. 6 weeks from exactly now, we'll either be trying to escape the park ahead of the crowd or staying to see Wishes on our first night of vacation!

25 days 7 hours till my alarm goes off for my Disney trip!!!! Hopefully getting luggage tags and magic bands this week!! Also I'm hoping that I'm not the only one that watches the weather forecast for the parks...

After tonight I will be down to 22 days!!! :cool1: With that said, those 6 weeks are going to fly by, you watch and see.

I have a question for you Dreamport and well everyone else on here. Is everyone done pretty much finalizing there ADRS, fast passes and everything else? Or you still tinkering around with everything? Just curious.

Short trip for me and my friends so we got park hoppers...I daily come up with alternative ways to spend our days. However FP are set but again we change dining about once every six hours. It's their first time so we struggle with going on rides and exploring with do we snack or sit and have meals...suggestions

Pretty much got all of our things booked. We're doing the quick service meal plan but we wanted to do one sit-down restaurant so we've made reservations for Ohana's one night. Plus I'm really hoping to get to do lunch at BoG but I've had a time trying to make a reservation for it...

Yes I notice today MK will be open until 9 pm instead of 8 pm on the 4th. And the night they have for EMH which was originally just til midnight has now been changed to 2am!

My countdown is 18 days 14 hours 54 minutes.

3 weeks tonight we will be tucked into our CBR beds :). So excited!

Everything is finalized. Still tinkering with 1 single a and e FP trying to get a slightly different time for it to overlap a bit earlier with the others.

Waiting on DME tags still too. Darn Canadian customs and post! :shaking fist:

My table service is pretty much set, but with that said I enjoy leaving flexibility for quick service. So when I decide I am hungry I will figure out where I want to have a quick service meal. I just don't care to plan everything, but to leave room for spontaneous things!

LOL I love how yours is down to the minute. That's awesome! I'm going to have to keep my eye on the end of the month. We got lucky last trip and they extended the hours while we were at the park. I'd love to stay a bit later than 9pm some nights without EMH.

So far they have been! I've got a few functions to keep me busy the next month which will help. DDad asking daily "so, where will we be now in x weeks?" is what slows it down!

I'll still be on my phone tinkering with everything while we're there! Everything is actually set for the most part but times keep adjusting based on doctor advice for both DMom and DDad. DMom is the one who needs meals at certain times which means tweaking around the FP+ times I can get even if it's by 10 minutes, not to mention her birthday meal is harder to pin down than DDad's, and he's still bugging me to "keep trying" for Be Our Guest. :rolleyes2

How is everyone keeping themselves organized? I have a Word doc with all four of our preferences for rides split into categories (Can't Miss! Let's Ride It! Eh, sure. and I'm-Not-Setting-Foot-On-Dumbo-Again-You-Can't-Make-Me!! (Aka "No")) and an Excel spreadsheet spanning the week with hourly timeslots highlighted for which park we want to be in and the ADRs/FP+/other notables written in, including a reminder line for myself of Mesaboy's recommendations for which rides should be priorities. Now to just figure out how to transfer all of this into carry-into-the-parks mode once we leave since I'm not bringing my laptop.

Thanks i just haven't been in so long I didn't know. I am debating bringing a Sophia dress too. We are doing the Dis JR breakfast at Hollywood and Vine. Besides in my opinion you can never have too many little princesses. LOL I was planning on bringing a change of clothes. Hope yall have a great trip.

I started with a piece of paper from the get go to be honest. From there I started to put all my on MDE. I plan on printing all that out in a few days. I am bringing a binder as well to store some of my things and the tickets for universal. I have some other small things as well and worse case scenario I have my phone which has the MDE app that has everything stored as well. I would say keep it simple. Don't drive yourself bonkers. I plan on finishing ever little tidbit I must do and give myself two weeks or so. Just don't want to fry my brain on here lol

Sounds like you have a great system going there. Is your sister helping you out any with the trip or your dad is doing his part?

Wow, your Belle cosplay is absolutely beautiful! So are the Anna and Elsa!.

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

Ack, 18 days til our trip now! So excited! We don't get our MagicBands til we get to the hotel because they don't ship them to Canada :( super lame.

Isn't that fun realizing we are all so close now to our trips!

I hope you get your DME tags soon!

I think I will begin checking the weather about 10 days out. Really hoping for warm weather, but plan to bring Northface coat and hat and mittens just in case. One time did not prepare for any colder weather other than jeans. Ended up "getting" to purchase those items! Perhaps if I bring them it will stay warm!

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

Super mega lame. :( Are you going to take anything with you to decorate them? A good coat of topcoat nailpolish should hold anything to it.

Yup -- Dad's paying for it*, Mom's helping with places to eat/when to eat and DSis is staying out of the way unless we ask her anything! :rotfl: To be fair, she works graveyard shifts so her part will be staying awake at the right times during the trip. Honestly, for all that I joke, I do enjoy the planning aspects of a trip, and in doing it for Dad it's a chance to show him I really was listening during all those trips he took us on as kids.

But Bonkers (yeah, totally nuts) seems to be the only gear I drive the week before a vacation! :lmao: We can store itineraries on MDE?? I had no idea. Giving yourself a couple weeks to not go crazy is sound advice. Hopefully the binder works out well for your Universal day!

(*He says it's paying DSis and I back for putting out lives on hold to help him and mom after major health issues.)

Everyone that set up FP forever ago is lucky. I can't do it till day of. I hope we can get some good times on our park day.
