Oh yeah, mind always slept fine in the pack and plays for what it's worth! It was harder to get them to sleep, but once asleep, they stayed asleep. Now, my son has woken at night like 10 times since 3 months old (he's 4 now) but my daughter wakes all the time (2.75 now, didn't sleep through until 7/8 months). She still wakes a lot but luckily usually goes back to sleep on her own and even when she does need intervention, it consists of putting the blanket back on her and saying shhhhhhh, so it's quick. They both have slept their own normal selfs on various vacations from 2 months to now. We stopped using the pack Nd play at 2 with both of them and now my youngest uses a blow up toddler mattress. This DL trip will be the first time we try her in the fold down bed at Grand Cal.

Matterhorn, WOC, and Soarin are the only confirmed refurbs so far on the January calendar, but those were expected.

But now that we're flying Southwest, I think we may be able to check a Pack n Play for free.

So we just need to decide if it's worth it to lug around the Pack n Play to save $40 or not.

What do you guys with toddlers do in hotels for your kids?

I generally had DD sleep with me when we were in hotels, but I think you and I talked about that in a previous thread, and you weren't comfortable with that (which I totally get--I don't sleep now when kids are in my bed!)... In that case, if you already have 2 PnPs, I'd totally just take one with you, if you can handle it.... I'd make a point to get a SmartCarte at the airport (maybe even have someone drop you off at the curb, so you don't have to lug it from the car to curbside), and then pile everything on that, and away you go! I believe some of the SmartCartes may have a seat for your son as well. I usually don't care/need a SmartCarte, but it makes traveling with kids around the airport so much easier, and lessens backaches! Bonus points is that the PnP is familiar to your son (maybe!), and will smell like home.

Of course, like you said, the other option is having one sent to the hotel, and seeing if anyone else would like it when you are done with it. (There's occasionally a "stroller share" that people will do on here, effectively passing it from one Dis-family to another, on and on and on, when travel dates add up well. You could do something like that with the PnP if you don't want to take it home.)

If you haven't already booked your flight or purchased your park tickets there are several specials going on right now.

I have seen several airlines anounce special cyber monday deals (make sure to check between now & monday in case released early...emails I received were from Alaska, Delta & Southwest.

For park tickets: 2 great deals that I have seen orbitz (extra day free) & % back if book through ebates.
Also getawaytoday.com is selling Adult park tickets this week at kids prices.

Lastly if you go to Seaworld's website they are offering several deals on their "blue friday" event....for those of you heading south after or before Disney. I'm sure they're could be others out there. But these are the great value ones I've come accross.

I can't recall ever seeing a deal like that. I know a few years ago we got a 5-day hopper at the price of a 3-day but it's not looking good for anything, it seems.

It was flightcentre.ca and I have not seen a deal like that in ages.

Exciting and terrifying at the same time... we have 15 hours in a plane, my max that i can tolerate is about 4 hours, my daughter is ready to chuck me off any time after that, so it will be very interesting indeed.

I don't drink either so i can't even relax with a drink

I hate flying so much and long flights is what has kept me from leaving the country (well, and money...ha!)

I just wanted to come and post that orbitz is offering 20% off using the code TRAVELHAPPY. I searched for our travel dates and I found the same deal that I got a few weeks ago, $229/night. When I checked out the same dates at the Disneyland website the rate is $298/night. DLH is showing at $215/night on Orbitz and $263 on the DL site. PP is $157 on Orbitz and $207 on DL.

If you are thinking of booking one of the onsite hotels, today is a good day to do so!

We are staying at the Desert Inn for the first time. We'll be in a parlor suite. To those who may have been there before, do you think I'll be 'nervous' putting my son in his pack n play in the front room at night? Or am I just being weird?

I've not stayed there, but if it is like a Homewood suites, no, I think you are fine. We prefer rooms set up like that to give us a little more space since our kids go to bed at 7:00!

I would not have a problem with that set up but then again, our son was in his own room from the start, we never co-slept or co-roomed past the first few days. The only problem that I can see is if he is a child who might climb out of the PnP and explore!

I would absolutely put the baby in the living room area. We always try to get rooms with similar set ups because I really think everyone sleeps better and it makes going to sleep a LOT easier when they can't see us. We just crack our door with a washcloth or something before we go to sleep, but you could also bring a monitor if you are worried about hearing him.

Hmm...good idea about the monitor. Since I sleep with a loud fan on (which I hope I can find cheap at Target) it may be wise to bring our monitor.

He hasn't made any attempt at climbing out of his crib yet. He's not really a climber at all. And there's never anything in there with him to use as a step or anything. So hopefully we should be safe there.

He slept in a mini-crib in our room until around 11 months old. But he's been doing well in his own room since then.
