*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

Does anyone know how the movie previews work when they take over an attraction? How long is the actual preview and is it worth checking it out?

ETA: Preview is about 10-15 minutes and is apparently pretty good. :)

There's no more app? I just figured my iPad was being slow, as it often is with the app.

We always are planning future trips! We are going to Aulani in June and Disneyland next June. We are probably taking an adults only DL trip this Nov too, but just added that!

Sad news. We leave on Saturday for Disney. We booked our non-refundable room a few weeks back. My mom fell last night and twisted her knee all up. Praying it is healed up and turns out to be nothing... but it required an ER visit and needs a follow up with an ortho so I'm not holding my breath. Since we cant get a refund on the room I will be there with my 3 kids but it will be a huge bummer (and a lot of work) not to have a second set of hands! ahhhh!! Plus driving 7 hours on my own. eeeek.

Regardless I need to be thankful... it is a "bonus" trip with our APs and we will be back for three days in April.

Someone a few posts back said that they were planning for a future trip although they have not even taken this one yet... I can totally relate! :)

Oh no! I hope your mom is okay!

If she can't go with, is there someone else you can bring along to help with the kids?

Me either......I'm not one for change. I guess that's why we've only taken the same vacation, minus Hawaii, for the past 5 years lol

We spent the day doing laundry and getting things organized. We'll probably start packing after football is over and then finish up tomorrow. Have to go to work on Tuesday but as soon as we are done, we'll rush home, throw everything in the truck and then head to the hotel by the airport. So excited!! You leave on Tuesday, right?

Yep, Tuesday morning.

I'm so used to the regular forum because it's just like another forum I'm on. So it's going to take a while to get used to this.

Just an FYI for anyone in the park tomorrow...there will probably be some crowds with the Superbowl parade thingy happening.

7 days out and I have a stupid ear infection.....GREAT!!
Get on some antibiotics ASAP, hopefully you will back up to snuff in a few days. I totally understand the frustration...we have had several trips where myself or my girls fall ill just prior or during and have to make a quick visit to doctor. Hope you feel better soon! :flower:

Thanks! Going to medical today at work and they'll give me some antibiotics. It'll be my first flight, and I've been all worried about my ears on the flight then this happens. Ugh...

I agree with the pp, get on antibiotics STAT! After 24-48 hours of being on them you should be feeling WAY better. Just don't forget to take the entire prescription. Another thing to do while on abx is to take probiotics at alternate times to your antibiotics. Antibiotics kill all the bugs not just the bad ones and that includes the good bugs in your digestive system which can lead to bad things especially on vacation. So, go and get some probiotics to help but don't take them within 2 hours of the abx. If you are on 3x per day, take the abx at 8, 2 and 8 and the pro at 10, 4 and 10 or something like that. I've been on one or two abx in my life!

Feel better soon!

Ugh, I'm freaking out a bit. We got about a foot of snow last night, and almost all of the flights going out of Buffalo NY today have been cancelled. We don't leave until 7:00 am Wednesday, but I'm hoping that all the residual issues (like, not having planes for other flights, because they weren't able to land the day before, etc.) will be sorted out by then.

Schools are cancelled today, so my oldest is home from kindergarten and I'm trying to get some packing and cleaning (my parents are staying in the house to pet sit while we're gone) done around two bored, hyper, fighting kids. OH BOY. lol. And it's -24 C, so it's even really too cold to go outside to play for long. It'll all be fine, as long as we can take off! I'm watching the weather closely to see if we should book an airport hotel for tomorrow night (we live in Toronto, about 90 minutes across the border from Buffalo) - it'll all depend on whether it'll be better to drive over after work tomorrow, or in the wee hours in the morning on Wednesday. It's a toss up between not getting the kids into bed until 10:00 (and them being all worked up because they're in a hotel) if we stay at the hotel, vs getting an extra couple hours of sleep before the flight.

Anyway, we're getting excited - just hoping we can get out of here!!!!

My sister in law is in TO and she just posted on FB that they got another foot of snow there, yikes!

Times like these makes me so glad I live in Victoria, BC where the majority of snow that we see is on tv!

Good luck with packing, I would plant the kids in front of the tv until done and hope for the best.

Yikes! I hope everyone makes it as planned.

After agonizing and packing all weekend, the weather dropped to highs in the mid 70s most of our trip! Argh! I have shorts packed for the kids for Monday and Tuesday! I think shorts still work for Tuesday, but geez! My husband is dreading another shorts or pants conversation I am sure!

Thanks! Just got back from medical, and it's an outer ear infection. I'm on Keflex 3x/day for 10 days. I have probiotics at home so will start those when I get home this afternoon. Tempted to stay home from work tomorrow just so I can rest and hopefully kick this thing. I did ask about flying, and the dr & nurse both said I have plenty of time to shake it before the flight.

We lived in Seattle for 6 years (we've been in Toronto for almost 3 years, now), and I miss that sense of certainty about winter weather. Of course, when it does snow, no one is going anywhere for a week! :D

Curious George is parenting my kids, now. Whatever, it's a snow day. I just wish the plows would finally get to my street so that I can run over to the vet to pick up my dog's medication! I was also hoping to run to the store for some snacks for the plane, but my kids can live on Starbucks from the airport. lol

Ahh, good old Curious George. My 9 year old still LOVES to watch Curious George, he finds the movies especially hilarious!

A little OT, but does anyone know if you can use the target red card discount and the pharmacy rewards discount to purchase Disneyland Gift Cards? We just earned the pharmacy one and leave in 13 days...

I don't know about the pharmacy rewards, but we use the red card to get 5% off on gift cards all the time. 'Cause 5% is 5% and I don't have to worry about my credit card numbers getting lifted in the parks.
