Capers- I was recently debating with a coworker friend about how they are the best finishing touch to a proper lox and bagel.

Truffles (the chocolate dessert variety)- Granted, the ones I consumed most recently were Easter egg shaped but they're usually round and I'm a big fan.

Sliced mini cucumbers- While they are oblong, once sliced, they make nice round little cucumber coins. I love their crunch, they are super low cal, and they are my current obsession when it comes to sprucing up my cottage cheese since they are great for volume and texture.

Meatballs- Doesn't matter what kind (Italian, Swedish, party, Asian, etc), I like meatballs. They are a good dinner option, make great sandwiches, and taste even better as leftovers!
Pizza
Tostadas
Round fruits, like dark plums, Colorado peaches, cara cara oranges.

AND when our yard floods like that over one major cell ... flood will be like a brook...if it reaches our street dead end to the flash flood basin...has to rain constantly for over 3 hours to have a controlled flash flood 4 feet high

Good morning, friends I did used to enjoy playing the original Mario game. Mario was a kind elderly maintenance man at the facility I was in, as well. I will do both today, a two for Tuesday special

Pac-Man was a favorite of mine as was Skee-Ball.

Hopscotch both outdoor (mainly) and indoor (plastic yellow mat) was such fun.

Uno is a great card game.

M is for mornings. By God's grace, my faith belief, each day is new as am I, Mona.

A is for acts of kindness no matter how seemingly small can change a life.

R is for Ralph's, a grocery store for which Dad and I are sure grateful and a kind friend who works there.

I is for imagination which along with fun can make such a bright daily difference.

O is for openness and honesty which are so important to me.

Side note- I cannot believe I forgot TJs mahi mahi burgers as well as the Nature's Own keto buns. These are my obsession right now and they're definitely round.

Pong - Before all of the others, we had pong. Actually, my aunt and uncle had pong and I'd sit in their bedroom and play it while all of the adults hung out in the living room areas for dinner parties. Hey, it kept me entertained and it made me really good for certain later games that employed the same concepts.

Atari 2600 - This thing was like magic. It was the first time it felt like we had the arcade at home. I'm pretty sure Combat and Space Invaders were our first games. My mom, of all people, would monopolize it and play Space Invaders for hours. She did the same, later on, when we got Asteroids. We definitely had some dud games as well as some bizarre or funny things that anyone who had these can share a laugh (ET, Kool-Aid, etc.). Air Sea Battle, Pinball, Pitfall, and Super Breakout (pong skills) were my faves. I never understood Casino but I always tried to play it anyway...just like some of the random space ones that didn't work like they should. The funniest was skiing. My brother and I would intentionally make the guy fall or hit moguls because it sounded like someone passing gas. Last year, I got DH a retro revival version to relive some of our childhoods.

Nintendo NES - Ours came with the original Super Mario Brothers and 1942. Super Mario was definitely the house favorite...especially with all of the secret worlds and shortcuts. Legend of Zelda was another one we got early on along with Metroid. I know we used to also rent from the local video store. Nintendo quickly became the thing to do with your friends...whether it was playing Techmo Bowl against each other or taking turns on Mike Tyson's Punchout. I insisted on getting this really neat looking game called Ghosts and Goblins and to this day, I have not been able to finish it. Yeah...also own a retro revival version of the NES. I'd play it more if it had wireless controllers. I like revisiting the past and all but not the sitting right up on the tv because the corded controllers only stretch so far.

Hide and go Seek with big groups of kids. We played outside and it gets dark in the country with no light pollution.

Evening all,

1. Sonic - this is probably the first console I ever played when I was a kid, used to spend hour after hour playing this.

2. Retro Disney games - I had quite a few Disney Megadrive games and I still remember these today as some were so difficult and some were just downright scary. The ones that usually come to mind are The Lion King, Aladdin, Castle of Illusion and The Little Mermaid. I'd love to play them again now!

3. The Wall Handheld game/cassette player - this was a prized possession when I was younger. The game itself was very similar to Tetris, and I could also listen to my cassettes at the same time so it made long journeys so much more fun! I don't still have it, but found this photo online:

Good Afternoon!!!

#1 - PERFECTION - We just played this Friday night. My DD22, DH and I took turns trying to out do each other - it was so fun!!! My DH ended up being the supreme person. So funny!!!

#2 - YAHTZEE - We also played this as a family on Friday night. My DH also won at that too.

#3 - SCRABBLE - I love love love playing Scrabble. No one ever wants to play with me though, so I just play against the computer on my phone.

We're at Wednesday, the middle of the week, so let's do...

Today's Topic - (Wed,3/11) - 3 things in the middle you're grateful for

Kraft Cheese in between bread
Summer starts the middle half of each year
In-between weather such as in the upper 70's and low 80's is lovely

Magic Middles - I don't know who remembers these cookies from Keebler that were in production from the late 80s to mid 90s, but they were some of my favorite cookies ever made. The middles were sort of ganache-like. I even remember my mom sending me boxes of them in some of my early college care packages.

Cake Fillings - While I am a frosting girl, I always like to see what kind of fun filling is waiting for me in the middle of a layer cake. I'm immediately reminded of some of the custom special occasion cakes we've ordered from Disney over the years and the fun fillings we requested. My two favorites...the Belle cake with passionfruit mousse filling in the middle and a Mickey celestial themed cake with two different fillings in the middle...raspberry mousse and cheesecake mousse.

Baklava - All of that honey and nutty goodness found in between the buttery layers of phyllo dough.

Honorable mention to all of the other yummy options with filling in the middle...like cannoli, filled donuts (especially Shipley's devils food with chocolate cream and lemon curd filled), King Cakes with veins of yummy fillings running through the middle, and all of the choux dough creations like profiteroles and eclairs. Then we've got the stuffed category with fillings in the middle...like calzones, stromboli, spanikopita, tiropita, epanadas, ravioli, knish, pierogi, kreplach. Let's also not forget the cookies (both with fillings in the middle and ones where that filling in the middle gives you a little sneak peak in the center)... Italian sandwich cookies, ischler, linzer, hamentaschen, and even the many varieties of Oreos (double stuffed mint dipped in chocolate!!!).
