Official Disneyland ½ Marathon & 5k

Alright, so I see MotoXPrincess99's Disney Dooney lover's badge, and I'm sure there more than just her and I.... anyone have any ideas if they might continue the Disney Dooney trend themed to races for DL in Sept? First they had the Tink themed bags for that Half, and now they announce Princess Half themed bags for the race coming up in WDW next.... how awesome would it be if they had one for the DL Half?! :)

It's not just the two of you ;) The Tinkerbell cross-body is now my 6th  and I doubt it will be my last, lol. I hadn't been on the DPBlog in a few days so I didn't realize they were releasing one for the Princess 1/2 as well. Pretty neat! Personally, I don't see them doing this for each and every race but the Tinkerbell and the Princess make sense since they are geared towards women. Although I wouldn't turn down one for the Disneyland 1/2!

That would be cool but I still really want the Tink one!

I'm glad I got my Tink 1/2 Dooney! I really don't like the Princess 1/2 Dooney - it's just too "princessy".But I kinda feel like I should get one since I'm doing it!!

I REALLY hope the Disneyland Dooney has a more retro, 50's feel to it. That would be awesome!

I agree- it would be so cool to see something with the classic "Disneyland" lettering!! Although I can see the appeal to just do these specialty bags for the races geared more towards women, I really hope they find them successful and start branching out to other races. Or even if they just came up with one other design that was "runDisney" related and incorporated all the other races, it could be cool... like an extra piece of bling to treat yourself with for your accomplishment ;) On the other hand though, it would be more personal, more fun, (and more expensive!) if they had a bag for each race...

I love my Disney Dooney's! I have six too...and for the past two years, I've bought myself a new one to celebrate at Marathon weekend! I would totally buy one if they had it for the general Rundisney events, but it seems they're only doing them for the women's races.

Well, they have to know there's a market for them. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I wouldn't pass up a retro Disneyland design especially if it had the flags on it. How much longer until August? Haha.

They have the 55th anniversary pattern.

Oh that is true...I had forgotten about the anniversary pattern. I don't know though, maybe in hoping for a DL race specific bag, I was envisioning something a little brighter in color palate. (My two favorite patterns are the black with multi-colored Mickey silhouettes and the classic white sketch.) Perhaps the likelihood of them creating a new bag for the race is slim to none if these are still available. Do they still sell this pattern? Not sure if I would get it, but maybe after I saw it in person I would be convinced.

So we have narrowed down the hotel choices to the following four hotels:

Sheraton Park Hotel, Fairfield Inn Marriott, Anabella Hotel, or Disneyland Hotel.

For those of you that have DL experience (this will be our first DL trip), which would you choose? The first three are all about the same rate of $130 per night. For a four night stay, any would save over $500 compared to the Disneyland Hotel.

I am a little concerned with some previous posts of getting back to the Anabella Hotel on Katella. What route will we take to get back to the hotel? Do we take Walnut Ave. south to Katella? It doesn't seem to be that out of the way.

You can get them in the park and on disneyshopping.com.

For the Half in September it usually starts by running south on Disneyland Drive so crossing after the race wouldn't be a problem.

Succumbed and registered today for the 1/2 which will make it my first repeated race and my 2nd Coast to Coast :)

And here I thought I was satisfied with the my half marathon vinylmation as incentive, now the possibility of a Dooney race themed purse??? Be still my heart!!! The hubby is going to be sorry he decided to go to PAX instead of cheering me on in the DL half this year hahahahahaha.

They don't have vinylmation for the races out here. :sad1: I discovered them last year at WDW and was looking forward to them here, but they've never had any. Hopefully they will this year, I would love that.

Going through w/drawls already. Until I found out that it was going to be prime Spring Break time, I was ready to drive down for the afternoon after the LA Marathon, but by the time I get down there and showered after the race, I probably wouldn't get to the parks until 4 and to have it crowded would not be fun. Oh well, I'll just have to wait! :hyper:

They just updated their #'s again!

1/2 is at 79%
5k is at 66%
Kids Races are at 54%

If it was me I would choose Disneyland Hotel because of the location after the race, it's a Disney Hotel, and it was just refurbished with the new Monorail Slide Pool.

I couldn't justify the cost of DL hotel (as much as I wanted to) so we are staying at Best Western Park Place Inn. A friend of mine just stayed at Fairfield for Tink and said it was nice.

I booked the Red Lion because Best Western Park Place Inn was sold out. It's a bit farther but I got an okay rate. I just can't justify the price of the DLH or PP for that matter.
