1. is the cost of the mini cake with chocolate castle on it more/less than the mini cake that is tiered? Meaning one mini cake on top of the other like photo above this post?

Prices start at $30 for either of them, but the 2-tier goes up in price if you want more elaborate decorations.

2. Does it matter WHERE I have this ordered from? Meaning if I want it at KONA is it possible or am I better off having it delivered to Grand Floridian Villa to our room?

thanks!

The GF can deliver to the Poly, so it doesn't matter a ton for you. If you were dining in, say, Hollywood Studios, you wouldn't be able to get these cakes.

Thanks so much! And do I just call the cake hotline directly or directly to the GF? (for delivery to kona...)

Does anyone know if babycakes will deliver cakes/brownies/cupcakes/etc to your resort? I know they will deliver to a restaurant but it would be great to just get a variety order to keep in the fridge in the room. Seems like a real time suck to go all the way to Downtown Disney just to pick up goodies and take them back to the resort. KWIM?

Otherwise, could they deliver the order to one of the resort restaurants for me to pick up even if I do not have a dining ressie?

We took a trip to Wash DC last spring and I preordered a ton of allergy safe goodies from a wonderful bakery called Lemonade Bakery. They delivered to the hotel front desk and we had wonderful treats in our room all week. Would love to do the same at Disney:goodvibes

No idea if they deliver although I would think I would have heard of it by now if they did but they are sold at some resorts. I bought cookies and donuts at BC last year and I saw them I believe at the Boardwalk.

When it says they deliver to Fort Wilderness does that mean they can deliver a cake to trails end. I am trying to plan a dinner for the whole family. It will be a few days before my grandmas 82nd birthday and the great grandkids birthdays start the day after hers so I want to do one big cake for everyones birthdays. Not every day we get 4 generations together. :cheer2:

I have ordered two cakes for an upcoming trip. One is an 8" Tinkerbell cake, green fondant, with the white chocolate tinkerbell on top from the Grand Floridian.

The second is a two-tiered mini cake with Mickey Ears at the Polynesian for my parents who are joining us and experiencing Disney w/ their grand daughter.

I was told that the fees will show up on the night we dine at the restaurants. Does anyone know if you can prepay them? I am trying to keep the Tinkerbell cake a secret from my wife so it is a surprise, so I would rather not have it pop up on our dining receipt that night.

I have a Disney gift card that I would want to prepay on. Anyone know if you can?

Thanks!

Hi all,

Some of you may remember I was trying to order a Tower of Terror cake for my anniversary in December. Well I eventually got the CR to agree to the mini cake and called them (from the UK) to order it to be delivered to my room at WL on 3 December at 8pm.

We got back to the room that night, no cake on the table. Checked the fridge, no cake. No message on the phone. The next morning I asked the concierge about it and they called CR Private Dining for me who said they would find out what happened and did I still want the cake. I said no, it was too late. It wasn't really but I was annoyed and I didn't want to pay all that money for the cake to show up when they feel like delivering it! We were there until 12 December, I never heard any more about it.

I emailed Disney when I got back as I really wanted to find out what happened before reporting back on here. I had a reply from them asking when to contact me, which i told them and haven't hears back since. So essentially I got no cake and paid approx $20 to call and order it!

I don't want to put anyone off, there's been plenty of cakes on here delivered fine but I just wanted to share since you were all so helpful when I was designing it.

The two tiered mini cake with Mickey ears that I ordered was $40. Does anyone know if that is the Mickey's Delight featured farther up?

And the tinkerbell 8" is green fondant with vines, and a white chocolate tinkerbell on top. Does anyone have a picture of that? The other option is pink fondant, with tink on top of flowers.

What places can do a peanut free cake. I know contemporary does but we won't be acting there in match ? We will be at wilderness lodge, grand floridian , beaches and cream.

Finally uploaded our cake pictures so here are a few! Two mini cakes, both vanilla with vanilla frosting. We had them at our dinner at Captain's Grill. I asked them to make one princess-y and the other pirates. I LOVE how they turned out.

I love the princess mini cake. That is exactly what I would like to do for my daughter. Can I ask how much it cost? Thanks!

I always call Private Dining at the GF directly when I'm ordering for a place they deliver to, but it probably doesn't make a difference.

Does the contemporary service wilderness lodge.

Yes, but you need to place the order through Wilderness Lodge.

Yes. :thumbsup2

II was told that the fees will show up on the night we dine at the restaurants. Does anyone know if you can prepay them?

I have not heard of many people having success at prepaying. But it's worth calling to ask.

Ugh! That's awful! I'm definitely going to be sure to bug them a day or two before I arrive next time I order a cake....

Usually if it has Mickey ears on top, it looks like that photo. But if it's super-important, call and make sure.

If you go to the first post in this thread, there's a link to a Cake Gallery thread. I'm pretty sure there's at least one cake matching that description in the gallery.

The Contemporary services Wilderness Lodge. If it's possible to get a peanut-free cake, the Grand Floridian and Yacht and Beach Club bakeries should be able to do it too.

OK maybe I missed it, but has there been any word on the Contemporary no longer accommodating requests to customize mini wedding cakes?

I know I got one done this fall, but I've had 2 different friends come to me today because the Contemporary is saying they've changed their policy and will no longer add any customization to these cakes. The info came both over the phone and in email response. They said they instituted this new policy a few weeks ago.

Anyone else heard anything about this?
(my apologies if it's already been posted)

mini wedding cakes or just mini cakes in general?

i really hope this isn't the case because we called the contemporary and left a message about getting a mini cake for our baby's first birthday next week. :sad2:

Said friend is specifically looking for a mini-wedding cake, but the email reply she got from the chef's assistant said they won't customize a cake that size. That makes me wonder if they also won't do anything custom now on the minis. She got the same answer when calling the phone # for cakes at the Contemporary.

If you wouldn't mind, please post how your call back goes. I'm almost tempted to reach out myself, but I don't know if that would help. I also wonder if this is going to happen with all of the WDW bakeries or if this decision is strictly pertaining to the Contemporary.

It's just sad because there have been so many nice mini cakes and mini wedding cakes. :(

I can't remember exactly (sorry), but I think it was either $45 or $55.

Someone asked about peanut-free, my son has a peanut allergy and they had no problem making the cake for him (at YC).

Thanks. I'm not trying to be difficult to Disney, but at least the 2 tiered mini cake, it is for my parents at a dinner for just the two of them. It would be a surprise ruined if I have to give them cash/credit card to cover it, or "stiff them with the bill" until I pay them later.

I know that I may not be able to pay the 20% tip before they deliver it, but it would make it alot more easier on me. And if it is the Mickey cake the picture showed, that is a REALLY elegant looking cake for only $40.
