I can't remember exactly (sorry), but I think it was either $45 or $55.

Someone asked about peanut-free, my son has a peanut allergy and they had no problem making the cake for him (at YC).

You might have posted this already and I couldn't find it but which bakery did you order the mini cakes from? Also about how many people do you think it would feed?

Thanks!

OK maybe I missed it, but has there been any word on the Contemporary no longer accommodating requests to customize mini wedding cakes?

I know I got one done this fall, but I've had 2 different friends come to me today because the Contemporary is saying they've changed their policy and will no longer add any customization to these cakes. The info came both over the phone and in email response. They said they instituted this new policy a few weeks ago.

Anyone else heard anything about this?
(my apologies if it's already been posted)

Unfortunately, this appears to be the policy for now. They have a couple photos of the one style they do, basically a "Mickey's Delight"...

I have a feeling it's only the Contemporary that's instituted this policy, due to an increase in demand for mini cakes and possibly the complaints they've had about decoration quality. I guess our choices now are to order wasteful larger cakes from the Contemporary or make our reservations at other Deluxe resorts that still do mini cakes.

We got it at Captain's Grill, so the YC/BC bakery. They're pretty small, we let each kid have their own but I'd think one would feed maybe two people at the most. They're the size of a large cupcake.

we've gotten no call back today from the contemporary about or cake inquiry. just called and left another message. if we don't hear anything tomorrow, i guess we will try calling the boardwalk bakery.

what to i select on the menu to order direct from the bakery and do an in-person pickup? (since we aren't going to be anywhere the boardwalk bakery handles deliveries for)

Call BoardWalk Inn Private Dining directly at 1-407-939-5175. They take the cake orders for the bakery. Just explain that you want to pick up from the bakery.

perfect! thanks so much.

i want the world's most simple mini cake and i'll be bummed if nobody is willing to make it for us.

Thanks for the info. It's unfortunate, but it certainly looks like there's been an major increase in mini cakes and I can say we were disappointed with our last order...so your reasoning makes sense. Still, like you said, it's too bad that the only alternative with them is to order way more cake than you need. Thanks again, Lurkyloo!

Hi-a little advice please. We are celebrating my sons bday while at disney. We have reservations at the castle on February 23 which is his actual bday. I would like to get both son and daughter a mini cake-her bday is the 9th of this month. Anyway I like the little mickey mini cakes with the ears. Should I do it on his bday delivered to CRT or should I do it at Chef Mickeys a couple of days later. It seems like the cakes delivered to CRT seems difficult now. Any help would be great. Just not sure where to start.

Ok I'm thinking I really like a pirate theme for my son and a princess theme for daughter or one that has the castle on it. Is it best just to call magic Kingdom cake hotline first. Thanks so much for any help.

I just emailed the CRT and they answered quickly with all their options. They do have the standard mini-cakes Lurkyloo posted -- mickey head or floral. Another option is the chocolate slipper dessert for your daughter and they also offer a chocolate crown for your son. They include pics in their email reply.

Does this also extend to flavors, or will they still do custom flavors with the standard decorations? DH and I had to postpone our adults only trip so we're now going for our wedding anniversary in the fall, and I really don't care much about the decor but I want to get a flavor combination similar to what we had for our wedding cake.

About the mini cakes? The serving size Disney states is 1-2 people, but I'm seeing up thread that the larger cakes are very generous in serving estimates. Does this apply to the mini cakes as well? I'm planning on ordering one for my daughter's birthday since she would think the two-tired cake is the bees' knees. There are four of us, two adults and a 5 and 2.5 year old. We all love cake, but don't need cake, you know. ;) I've just been reading that the 6" is a lot of cake for four people, plus it doesn't have any customization options.

Yes, that is true for the mini cakes as well. We ordered one on my birthday trip and it was enough for my mom, my 10 & 4yo daughters, and me to have a small piece.

greetings from bay lake towers! just an update on our mini-cake saga...

so after two days of calling, we finally got a call back from the contemporary cake line. the person on the phone seemed to be trying to 'guide' us into building our cake from VERY limited choices. gave us only one cake flavor option and two filling options and didn't even ask us how we wanted our cake decorated and said, 'well it's typically chef's choice' ummm, no thanks. so we said we had something a little more specific in mind and while it was very simple, it was kind of hard to describe so we had drawn up our idea for reference. the phone CM then gave us an email to send the drawing to.

sent the email yesterday morning and got no response. this morning (while on the magical express!) we got a call from the actual bakery saying they had a cake request on file for us and that we would be sending a picture but that they did not receive the email. no clue what happened there, we double checked and the address was correct. anyway, this person gave us a different/more direct email and we re-sent the picture. while at lunch in MK this afternoon we got another call saying they got the picture and that what we wanted was no problem at all. they also said they were confused by the flavors we wanted for the cake because our drawing said one thing (we did it before the initial call where we were given the limited options) and the order said something else. we explained the original CM said we could only have one kind of cake and they were like, 'nah we can do what you actually want'.

so....it sounds like we will have a custom mini cake made by the contemporary delivered to our room sometime tomorrow! i'll update with the final result.

oh and another thing....we were never given a price quote.

Can I have a cake delivered to POFQ? If so where do I order it from, the Boardwalk Bakery?

Frustrated. I had to cancel my grand tea ADR bc they are so difficult about ordering a large cart items. So now I have 1 month to find a restaurant for a small cake or slipper. We need resort or DTD . We are dropping the teens off at Disney Quest. Can I get a cake at DTD ? If we do a resort, we want it about $30 or less per adult. Can you help?:flower3:

Can I get a bday cake made and delivered to be our guest for my sons birthday dinner

The short answer is "yes" but there may be a restriction on how big the cake can be. There used to be an issue with BOG having the refrigerator capacity to store a cake.

I had a mini 2-tier cake (similar to the Mickey's Delight in the previous posts) delivered to our dinner at BOG this past September.

I ordered it through the email address magickingdomcakes@disney.com. I did everything though email and got my price quoted.

Once you describe what you are looking for, the CM can let you know if there are any size restrictions.

There may be a phone number and if so, lurkyloo probably has it listed on the first page of this thread.

No, you place the order through POFQ. See Post #2 for the phone number. :thumbsup2

There are no longer any Disney-owned restaurants at Downtown Disney, so you can't order a cake through Disney there. You could try calling each of the restaurants you're considering. Last time I checked, Rainforest didn't do custom cakes, but the others might.

The slipper is only available at resorts/parks serviced by the Grand Floridian or the Contemporary. Everyplace else owned by Disney can usually get you some kind of customized cake. See the Cake Options By Location list in Post #2 of this thread. Or you can just order a premade all-chocolate or all-vanilla cake when you check in at the podium. Those are available at every restaurant except Victoria & Albert's and cost $21.
