OMG, absolutely LOVE Grandma's cake!!

Last time we were in Disney in December celebrating DD's b-day I got her a mini wedding cake at the GF. We are going this December, was thinking of the Cinderella slipper. I see you can maybe get it in milk chocolate at CRT and only CRT correct? Also, if I remember correct, the slipper is filled with a mousse and some berries on top. Is this still what I should expect if I order the slipper? Thanks!

Great thread. Think I will be ordering something for both DD's in October.

You can get the Slipper at the Grand Floridian too (1900 Park Fare, Citrico's, Grand Floridian Cafe, Narcoossee's and Victoria & Albert's) Yes, you get the mousse and berries with the slipper.

The slipper usually comes in white chocolate, so you have to specifically ask for milk chocolate.

OK, here are the photos to go with Dis703's post...

Gluten-free minicake made by the Contemporary's pastry team for delivery to The Plaza in Magic Kingdom

How much was this one?? Something like this would be perfect for what I need. Thanks!

The Deluxe resorts (and the theme parks serviced by their pastry teams) are your best bets. You'll need to call and ask about the milk chocolate instead of white chocolate thing, though. It could be that they keep a stash on hand, so white is your only option. If they'll custom make one for you, maybe then you could get milk. Let us know what you find out—the white chocolate Stitch I bought tasted TERRIBLE, so I'd love to know if you can get it in milk chocolate.

Thank you, ever and ever again. Haha, I can't seem to remember anything, I'm pretty sure I asked about the cupcakes at least once in here. But after the mini-cake last time, we decided special cupcakes might be better for us (and for the surprise I want to do for him). I just hope they can do a milk chocolate- I know DBF will not go for white chocolate.

Let's say they don't do white chocolate, any chance there are outside cake bakeries/chocolatiers in the area that do hotel/room service delivery? Maybe I should start googling?

Well, the outside vendors I've seen mentioned are Anna Cakes, Bake Me a Cake, It's Tasty Too, and Sprinkles, but they won't be able to create chocolate Disney characters for you due to licensing. They won't even put Disney designs on their cakes. ...Or did you mean to use them for cupcakes if Disney won't do them?

I meant more for other treats/alternative items non-Disney. I'd prefer to get something Disney-ish since this is our last hurrah down there for what could be 2 years, but DBF is more of a chocolate and pie kind of guy, not cake. Otherwise I'd just order a mini-cake and be easy in and easy out. The plan for the Stitch chocolate figure was to satisfy him, while the cupcakes give us a little nibble of cake each (but more so for me so I don't look goofy sitting there while he devours a chocolate figure, haha!)

As for an Anniversary dessert... hahaha. We'll cross that bridge when we get closer. :faint:

Oh, I see! Well private dining at the Deluxe resorts offers lots of other treats besides cakes. The selection varies by resort, so you'd need to contact them to see what they have, but generally it's things like chocolate-covered strawberries, chocolate truffles, cookie plates, etc.

Hello,

I am wondering if any one can help me.

We are travelling to WDW in September for 14 days. Our last full day is my mum and dads 30th wedding anniversary.

We have a reservation at Teppan Edo I would love to have a cake for them.

What I want to know is could I arrange this after I arrive? Will be 8 days before we arrive. Or should I just ring and arrange this before we go? I would just love to have a miniature version of their wedding cake made.

You can order a cake with just 48 hours' notice. Unfortunately, Teppan Edo can only get standard chocolate or vanilla buttercream cakes from its outside vendor—they don't offer custom cakes. You might consider having BoardWalk Bakery re-create their cake and then pick it up on your way into Epcot.

Ok thank you so much for the quick reply. X

I wanted to check, I called the cake hotline tonight and it was a recording that said to email them w/ the info and they will get back to you.
It has been about 2 yrs since I last ordered a cake but I remember speaking with someone.
I'm hoping to order one of those cupcakes from the wedding show- TinkerBell for our breakfast at CRT!!

thanks!!

Hello everybody!

In October DH, my BFF and I will be having dinner at CRT to celebrate my 35th birthday!

I would like to find out some info about ordering a cake. I read the beginning of the thread and noticed that they do the special princess package at CRT. That's fine, but honestly a bit young for me. And besides, I already have my own tiara that I was planning to wear.

Here are my questions:

1. Since we'll be dining in the MK, we would call private dining at the Contemporary, yes?

2. As there will only be three of us, I was thinking about ordering a mini-cake. Any recommendations on sizes?

3. I know they can generally do themeing requests, but do you think they might be able to do something themed like Wreck-it-Ralph/Vanellope von Schweetz? I wouldn't really want a cake shaped like Vanellope, but maybe some theming based off that would be cool. I would love if it somehow incorporated Vanellope's medal that she gives Ralph. DH and I really like Wreck-it-Ralph and will be going as Ralph and Vanellope to MNSSHP!

Any thoughts, suggestions, comments would be helpful. :) I'm looking forward to this quite a lot! :dance3:

So I called the Boardwalk Inn to order a custom cake and the woman said first of all it was too early, which is understandable bc I'm not going until September. Then she told me I couldn't send or email a picture for a rough idea of what I want... When I asked her if I could send or email a picture, she just said 'no maam'...that's it. :sad2: I asked her if they could design it to a specific theme...she said 'well it has to be Disney'...so I said 'Great! How about a circus Dumbo theme?!' she said, 'we'll have to see if they will do that...':headache: What?? Then I asked if I could send in a figurine to the bakery for them to add to the top of the cake...she said 'no maam'...I am SUPER confused. I've read through the cake threads and have found the things I was asking to do have been done multiple times based off of the posts on here so I just don't get it...Oh she also told me if I wanted a fancy fondant covered cake it HAD TO BE at least 10 inches...HAD TO. She also kept telling me repeatedly that I HAD TO be staying at the BWI to order a cake (which I am...)...Perhaps the BWI bakery changed some rules since they reopened? Part of me is wondering it depends upon the CM you get on the phone...:confused3 Well I have some time to suprise my kids, but I really hope my plans don't get axed bc of some new rules or by a CM who is not willing to help me out. :( When I see so many gorgeous elaborate cakes on these threads I was really discouraged by my phonecall experience. Perhaps when I call back when the time comes I'll get better reception with a different CM...

Alot of this information is honestly not true. You can send a photo in, the cake doesn't have to be Disney themed, you can use your own figurines. Sounds like you didn't get a good CM.

1. Yes, you would call the Contemporary

2. A mini cake would be enough for 3 people but how much you can really theme a mini cake is debatable. A mini cake is generally considered enough for 2. Perhaps a 6 or 8 inch cake would be more suitable, depending on how much you want to spend.

3. I can't see them having any problems with a Wreck it Ralph Cake. The best way is to have a rough idea of what you want and send in a photo where possible.

On a side note - great costumes choices! My sister is going as Vanellope too.

When you do call, ask for the email of the pastry chef. CM's who answer the phones don't seem to know much. I worked with Jessi and was very pleased with my cake. Good luck.:goodvibes

It seems CM services are extremely inconsistent...this was how the conversation went

me-Hi there, can I please speak to or have contact information for someone at the BWI bakery please? :goodvibes

cm-for what? (seriously?)

me-um, well I need to order a custom cake with fondant and the whole nine yards...who do I speak to about that? :goodvibes

cm- You speak to ME.

me- Oh! Okay well I'd like to know if I can have a peanut butter filling in my fancy cake (dumbo theme/elephants eat peanuts... cute...anyway I digress)

cm- Ummmmmmmm. uh, I can check :scared: wait...wait...wait...

now at this point I'm thinking...If this is the 'go to' person for ordering a cake at the BWI shouldn't she KNOW this stuff off the top of her head???

so she told me yes that's fine they can do peanut butter filling...then I went on with the rest of what was in my first post which was pretty much her tellng me no and I don't know to everything...finally I asked if I can have an email address and she told me...and I quote...

"We do NOT give out email addresses at all. Period."...Here's the thing, I can't very well say 'YOU ARE A LIAR'...then I really won't get my way :rolleyes1 Do I just keep calling until I 'maybe' get someone different? This woman clearly did not want to help me and was even laughing at me like I was an idiot with every request that I had. Obviously based off of this thread alone what I'm asking for is VERY doable

8 inch fancy fondant cake big top circus dumbo themed with vanilla cake peanut butter filling and chocolate buttercream under the fondant...I provide the topper...seems straightforward! That's all I want...I even said, just circusy looking she basically was like "I'm not sure if they'll do that..." how is this the person who takes the cake order? I don't understand if someone is willing to pay $100 for a cake why the run around? IDK..wow this turned into more of a vent then anything :scared: Yikes! I guess I'll try back again some other time...wonder if any other bakeries deliver to BWI? How about...isn't there a bakery in Downtown Disney?
