OFFICIAL Disney Cake Chatter Thread - Part III

GF makes delicious cakes! I hoe they can work with you. Maybe if you tell them it is an intolerance not an allergy they might be able to accommodate more. I understand cross contamination and such but maybe they could do something since an allergy is treated as more "severe"

Our wedding cake was made there :) I will probably call this week. I'll make sure to report back.

So I called the cake hotline and someone at AKL gave me the number for Babycakes NYC. They deliver to Disney restaurants! If that's common knowledge, forgive me; it was new info to me (I admit I didn't search this thread before posting).

We are having a six inch chocolate (wheat, soy and dairy free) with chocolate chips and chocolate icing round cake delivered to our dinner at Sanaa. I emailed the woman I spoke with a picture of our wedding cake, and she said she will she what she can do about replicating the design on it.

The cost is $45.00. It will be added on to the meal. However, I did have to leave a credit card number in case we cancel with less than 24 hours notice.

I think I am just going to get DH his own little mini cake for his birthday at Grand Floridian Cafe.

Awesome! I did not know if they delivered. Hope you have a great anniversary :)

I apologize in advance...I have not read this entire thread!

My son will be celebrating his 10th birthday on July 2nd while we are at WDW. We are staying at Kidani. Since I can't have balloons delivered because of the animals, I want to have a cake delivered. I don't want anything super fancy. Is saw some Mickey Mouse head cakes so I think that's what I want to order for him.

Should I call the cake hot line number, or the resort? For the resort number, I see a number for AKL on here. Would Kidani be the same number?

Will they deliver it to our room if we are not there? I'd like to have it delivered while we are out during the day and be a surprise when we return.

Thanks!

I can't answer all your questions, but today I had the Mickey head cake delivered to our room while we were out to surprise my mom for her birthday. When We got back we had a tray with plates and napkins on it along with a note. The note said there was a surprise In our fridge (we are staying in a studio at the boardwalk). I thought that was nice of them to put it in the fridge. The cake was very good and I'm glad I ordered it.

Thanks so much! I hope they can do the same at Kidani. We are letting our DS plan the day on his birthday, so I'd hate to have to force him to return to the room at a certain time!

The mini cakes went up to $35 at GF just to let you know. This was as of May 2013. Also no issues delivering to Poly.

The information was taken from the first page of the thread :) Thanks for the update

No problem just want people to have the latest information :). I was a little surprised when I was told $35 not $30, wanted to make sure it was for the correct item.

Ordered two cakes for DS 7 Birthday when there on May 19. One was a Mickey Head cake (yummy) and one was a gluten free/dairy free cake due to allergies. Both cakes were completely gone by the time we left on May 22. The kids enjoyed the vanilla GF cake too (the frosting was a best seller). Wish I had pictures. The cakes were delivered to our room at Bay Lake Tower. Just in case someone interested in ordering the gluten free the kids enjoyed it and it was only $29 plus gratuity.

Does anyone know if ANY of the Bakery's will deliver a custom cake to the Maya Grill at Coronado Springs??? Thank you :flower3:

Unfortunately, I don't think so. The restaurants at Coronado Springs are not Disney-owned or -operated so there is likely no reciprocity between them and other resorts' restaurants. They have a lovely pastry department; I'm surprised they don't do custom cakes.

You might have to have a "Plan B," either selecting a different restaurant for your special dinner or seeing if you can arrange to pick up a custom cake at one of the other bakeries, like maybe Boardwalk Bakery.

Congratulations on your anniversary!

1. Let's say I want to order a chocolate Stitch figure. Is it only white chocolate, or do they offer milk chocolate as well? And where can I have him delivered to?

2. What place does specialty cupcakes AND chocolate figures?

The Deluxe resorts (and the theme parks serviced by their pastry teams) are your best bets. You'll need to call and ask about the milk chocolate instead of white chocolate thing, though. It could be that they keep a stash on hand, so white is your only option. If they'll custom make one for you, maybe then you could get milk. Let us know what you find out—the white chocolate Stitch I bought tasted TERRIBLE, so I'd love to know if you can get it in milk chocolate.

Anyone know an email address for Epcot WS restaurants? Or where would be the most likely to copy this (at least pretty closely) for an anniversary? (This was the way my DH proposed at Epcot in 2004. Returning for our anniversary this August.)

Most of the World Showcase restaurants are owned by different companies, and none of them publish email addresses for ordering cakes. The phone numbers are listed in Post #2, but most of them offer only very basic chocolate or vanilla cakes.

Your best bet is to send that photo to one of the Deluxe resort bakeries and see if they can replicate it. We aren't allowed to give out cast member email addresses on the DIS, so what you'd need to do is call the number for the Deluxe resort where you will be staying or dining (Post #2) and ask for the pastry chef's email.

:thumbsup2

I called the cake hotline this morning for Akershus and talked to Theresa. I'd start there.
