I love the insider information you just shared. :cheer2: what was your daughter's favorite bakery and treat to indulge in?

Here's one I like but I want one tier! Mainly Caused cakes at Disney can be costly! however I love the color and the design I hate fondant so I would want only butter cream! They can do fondant or molding chocolate for the flowers and leaves and Do a tink topper with her Fairy friends around the cake!

Plus more than one tier will be too much to eat and I would have to share it with others around me! That would prolly piss of the CM of the restaurant!! :rotfl:

Also like this one but with a Minni chocolate cake topper! Question will the bakery use fresh flowers instead if I want!

Where is Brian located at? Heard he was good! I need help with that information!

I just ordered a cake this morning for my daughters birthday!!!! Soooo excited! I called the cake hotline and was told to email Brian at the Contemporary. He emailed me back in 5 minutes with a price!!! I asked for a pink non character specific cake with a wand or tiara, other then that, I figured I would leave it up to them, artistic freedom!!!! I can't wait to see my daughters face!!!! I will post pictures asap!!

Here it is!!!!!! Worth every penny!!

Ok- I have combed through the thread as best I can, and I want opinions and suggestions....My DD's 5th birthday is Feb. 21st (President's Day). We are there for 7 days, and here are the ADRs we have going on where I could do her cake:

2/18- 1900 Park Fare Dinner
2/20- Akershus (Lunch)
2/20- Yachtsman Steakhouse (Dinner)
-Right after dinner, we are taking an Illuminations Cruise- cake on the boat?
2/21- CRT (Lunch) (Actually her B-Day- was going to do slipper dessert maybe?)
2/21- Ohana (Dinner)

So, when would YOU do a cake?

Park Fare I can get a cake from GF, but it's 3 days before her b-day. Maybe a mini-wedding cake?

Akershus I could do Boardwalk Bakery and make my husband go get it, lol.

Yachtsman- we are on the Dining Plan so we already get Dessert, but it sounds like the chefs there do a great job-- day before her b-day. We could also get one from there and take it with or have it delivered to the Marina (only food from Yacht Club Private Dining can be brought on the boat). Sounds like that might be lovely to have cake on the cruise...

CRT I could work something out w/ the CR, but I don't really want to pay that delivery fee. I think that the Slipper will be ok here...

Ohana- I already called Poly Private Dining and there are VERY few options there other than the basic round cakes and the mickey head. No other options at all. The Mickey Head Cake looks like the best bet, if we were to have it here.

There are only 5 of us, and I would like to spend less than $100, but still have some 'Wow' factor.

Based on those options, what would you all suggest?

We're doing our birthday cake at CRT. What better place to celebrate than in Cindy's castle?! Plus, I know DD wouldn't know what to do with the slipper, lol.

I am so excited!! I am calling this week to order my DD a white chocolate slipper for her to have when we go eat breakfast at 1900 Park Fare!!! Only 8 more days! :)

well, just guessing, but maybe it's because your question is not actually very clear?

Comes across more like you're just posting pics of what you'd like to order...but the comments/questions about what can or cannot be done with cakes probably have to talk directly to Disney cake line people...don't think anyone on here can answer specific cake-order questions (like your preference for 1 tier vs. 2 tiers, fondant or butter cream etc.)

Are you getting it delivered from the Contemporary? I thought there was a $75 delivery fee?

Yeah I think I left out the question!!! Haha, I guess I thought I asked!
Well, here my question!
Which one of the three do ppl like? And where is brian located at? I keep seeing that brian
Is the best I want the best for this cake if I'm spending good money for a cake I want it to be the best baker possible!! Please let me know what places in disney and where they deliver too??

Thank you so much and sorry for leaving out my questions! It won't be the last time!
TIA,
Dana S.

Here is my birthday cake. We ordered it from the Boardwalk Bakery and it was delivered to our room in the Boardwalk Villas. It was a vanilla cake with strawberry mousse filling, lime green fondant with silver Mickey stamps and pastel flowers. It was $75 including delivery, tax and gratuity. It was SO yummy....tasted just like strawberry shortcake!!!

Actually, for the same cake, the quality is the same.
. . . the recipe does not change form resort-to-resort bakery
. . . the recipe is actually a formula, so they can't alter it
. . . baking is not like cooking, where individuals can experiment
. . . they must follow the formula or it doesn't turn out

. . . however, bakeries do have their own specialty items
. . . these are not usually put into the other kitchens
. . . this allows individuality

NOTE: Our daughter was a pastry-chef culinary-intern at WDW and was moved from bakery-to-bakery. The formulas for the same product were never altered among kitchens.

If this is the case I'm totally perplexed with all the people who state that the cake they received from WDW's bakeries was the best-tasting cake they'd ever had. Ours wasn't very flavorful at all. The cake was pretty bland albeit moist and the frosting not very buttery or sweet. Seriously. I'm totally not one of those all-around picky-petunias on an everyday basis. If what we had was what others call "best" in flavor...golly...I'd like to invite everyone to my house for cake. I believe I can make the earth move, the heavens open, and angels sing. And I don't even like baking.
