It's not on the list of flavors on their cake-ordering sheet, although they do make it for Escape Wedding cakes, so maybe if you pushed, you could get it.

The thing is, they already sell a peanut butter-chocolate cake slice at BoardWalk Bakery that is WAY better than either pb-choc cake I've had from the Grand Floridian Bakery. I just don't know if you could get them to make it as a whole cake/fancy, decorated cake. It's worth asking, though! :thumbsup2

Thank you lurkyloo. If I remember right your wedding cake and ann cake has the peanut butter cup mousse and if you think the peanut butter-chocolate cake is better, then I may go that route. Give it a try this time. I can so see a pattern of always wanting to order a cake when we go to wdw because I like what we had at the wedding and our first ann. A slice of cake is sure cheaper then a whole cake that we can't eat nor take back on the plane with us. lol

Thank you so much for suggesting it. DH thanks you too and our bank account. lol:rotfl:

No problem! Now if only I could convince *myself* to stop at just the slice of cake.... :lmao:

I am trying to reach Brian and was given the xxx-xxx-xxxx number to call. No one has answered any of the times I called. I did leave a message today. I tried the press 0 option too, but that lady had no idea what I was talking about. Am I on the right track to get a hold of him?

Thanks ... any help appreciated.

Becca

Hey Becca,

If you look back in this thread you will see a post from Brian and you can send him a PM. I did that and he responded back with the answers to my questions. I then called Private Dining at the CR to order my cake. I sopke to Julie and she was very helpful. I had told her that Brian and I had communicated through this board. She knew all about the thread. Anyway, after I ordered the cake, I send a follow-up PM to Brian to let him know that I had placed the order and what I had ended up requesting.

Hope that helps.

My trip starts next Saturday, may 29. My cake is due to be delivered to our room on June 1st to celebrate my DH's birthday. I will make sure I post pictures!

:goodvibes We ordered a Mad Hatter cake for my and my husband's birthdays (2 days apart) and this is the cake we got from the AKL delivered to Sanaa. It was Red Velvet with cream cheese filing. It was $120. I would order this again in a heart beat. It was fantastic and moist and yummy as well. Only down side was getting it back to Jambo to our villa from Sanaa as it was so big and heavy. It was a definate highlight of the trip. Then had a slice overlooking the animals from our balconly the rest of the week!

Standard Mickey Ears Cake
Chocolate cake and chocolate mousse-like filling
Chef Mickey's
May 15, 2010
Quoted $53, charged $48
Served 6 adults, 3 kids, and one baby and had one ear left to share with our neighbors.
The coating on the outside of this cake is chocolate shavings and the face is a white chocolate shape that sits completely on top of the ganache. The entire cake is the same set of layers (in other words, the ears are not something different).

DE-LISH.

Very easily ordered through the private dining line, although nobody ever answered the direct line the first person gave me, so I just used the general private dining line. I ordered it about two weeks before the day we needed it and did call the day before to confirm the cake.

OMG that cake is too adorable - it is definitely the nicest I have seen from AKL. I think you got a great deal!

Kimber - I hope it's OK if I post the image here with your description so this cake can be captured in the Cake Photo Thread for posterity. Just let me know if you want me to take it down! :goodvibes

Thank you so much! They did call back ... would you ever expect anything less from Disney? Now for trying to find some ideas to email him.

I would love to see your cake ... I have been an awe of some of his lately!

CARS ideas anyone ... I am open to pictures!

That cake is just gorgeous!

Did you order that when you were at WDW or before you went? Through AKL private dining (room service) or did you call the cake hotline?
What did you ask for in the way of design?

It is just so cute! We are staying at AKL and one of my son's birthday presents is doing the Wayama Sunset Safari (spelling  ) which included dinner at Jiko. I thought of either having a cake in the room or ordering it to have for dessert at the dinner at Jiko. I know there will be others at the dinner from the Safari but the cake looks big and we would happily share with everyone on the Safari if they wanted a piece. Don't know if they would allow it, so if not we would just have it in the room at AKL or another night at Jiko (as we are going there another night).

That is an awesome cake and those animals (at least two of them) are what I was told would be on my cake, not the stand-up that I got. :sad2: Good to see a good cake come out of AKL.

That cake is so darn cute, almost makes me wish I was eating at AKL instead!

I just made a last minute ressie for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare on 6/8/10. (This is a very last minute trip!!;)). Its my DH's bday. Anyway, they offered a non personalized cake for 21.00 or have me call the cake hotline for a personalized one. I called and she said just tell the hostess when we check in for our meal and they will personalize a cake and bring it to the table for 21.00.:confused3 Is this the correct info? I didn't want to argue, but maybe I need to call back?

TIA!!:goodvibes

From what I've been reading (& reading & reading) it looks like I need to pick up the cake I want from BWB. Do they have tables there where we could go and eat the cake there?

And, does anyone know if the cake hotline will direct you to private dinning? We will be at POR in a few weeks, I'd love to be able to pick up a BWB cake from the food court if that's an option.

LOVE the great cake pic's! Great info!:lovestruc
